God, these pictures basically replicate what was in m mind when I was reading New Moon, the hillside to the alleys to the tower....ah!

Are you kidding me!? You are absolutely right in your comment...is it not (almost) just as you imagine it? Wonderful! It is a breath of fresh air to see visually what you create in you minds eye. Actually, there are a couple of photos that are a bit more breathtakingly beautiful. Can't wait to see what is in store for the movie. I do so hope that it meets everyone's expectations!

Me too, Tina!!! The Twilight movie was kind of a let down because they took out the whole chapter, Carlisle, which kind of pissed me off. Then they just added that weird seen about the greenhouse trip or whatever, I mean what was up with that.

rome is kind of overdone. besides, rome looks nothing like tuscan towns. even the lighting is different, as is shown in the pictures. volterra is absolutely beautiful (take it from someone who has visited there) and is absolutely perfect for new moon. rome is too gritty, too much of a metropolis. to get the real effect, i think they need to use the original. FORZA VOLTERRA!

I cannot agree with you more!! Nothing can top the books!!! And I too believe that they moved wayyy too fast in the movie, also, Rob Pattinson is NOTHING LIKE EDWARD!!!!!!!! No actor can come close to how perfect he is, thats why i dont think they should have everrrr made twilight the movie in the first place. of course i LOVE the idea of putting these works of art into real life, but i just wish they could have found someone better to play edward...

I'm a film student from American Film Institute in Los Angeles. I was also a driver to the movie studios for 4.5 yrs. This movie is so beautifully realized and romantic, all because of Rob Pattinson's wonderfully mature acting skills, he is the perfect Edward. No other actor could have done a better job than Rob. The movie made $370 Million dollars in 12 weeks it play in the U.S. Your taste sucks, it that you sour grapes, because they DID GET RIGHT FOR THE RIGHT ACTOR:ROB PATTINSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi. I was just wondering ifyou happened to find out the answer to your question? When are they going tobe filming in Volterra? I was going to be there last week of April but perhaps I would delay that visit until sometime in May (if we can narrow it down anymore?) Thanks

I visited Volterra a few years ago before the books and it was amazing. Very eerie at night. They have an alabaster sculpting school there.

It looks a bit drab in the photos, I always imagined it full of sunlight. But the old ruins suggest amazing architecture and are always cool to look at. It will be an awesome set for the movie. :)

Edward ofcourse!!!!! I agree with you, Robert isn't that great... they could have casted him better..... Robert was too "uncomfortable" looking all the time... Edward isn't like that.... he has his moments but for the most part he's not. Did any one listen to the commentary on the DVD... Rob kidda pissed me off.... he's really not that into the character and you can definently tell.

I would like to see them at least consider Danny Elfman for New Moon. Elfman writes darkly evocative movie music scores, and conveys so much more about the story than is shown on the screen. I can't think of anyone who would be better at writing the score that accompanies Bella's depressive period. I very much liked the songs in the Twilight movie, but the underlying and uniting score, IMHO, could have been so much more powerful and been more of a support for the storyline.

Edward ofcourse!!!!! I agree with you, Robert isn't that great... they could have casted him better..... Robert was too "uncomfortable" looking all the time... Edward isn't like that.... he has his moments but for the most part he's not. Did any one listen to the commentary on the DVD... Rob kidda pissed me off.... he's really not that into the character and you can definently tell.

I cannot agree with you more!! Nothing can top the books!!! And I too believe that they moved wayyy too fast in the movie, also, Rob Pattinson is NOTHING LIKE EDWARD!!!!!!!! No actor can come close to how perfect he is, thats why i dont think they should have everrrr made twilight the movie in the first place. of course i LOVE the idea of putting these works of art into real life, but i just wish they could have found someone better to play edward...

This summer I have been to Volterra, just after reading the new moon...and I just pictured every corner of Volterra as part of the book. Its an amazing place and I hope they'll shoot there.

I just finished watching a four-part PBS series on the Medici family, and it was fascinating. It's been postulated before that the "old Italian vampire families" many authors of vampire genre books use as inspiration is the Medicis.

I think the Medicis could have given the Volturis a run for their money. "Ruthless" doesn't even begin to explain it. Even when they had run out of direct-lineage decendent of the founder, Cosimo Medici, and had to go to an offshoot line...the descendent they found to resurrect the Medici line had lived in a very rustic area, with no humanistic schooling, or training in battle, politics, or any of the other specialities on which the Medici cut their teeth, this basically country rube intuitively displayed all of the obsessive, aggressive, and power-driven qualities and skills that the direct-lineage Medicis had exhibited.

Anyway, others might find it the series interesting.

Gorgeous buildings and scenery! They very similar to what I imagined, the narrow streets are pretty much exactly how I imagined them. Can't wait for the film!

seriosly thought Steph could u please get on with Midnight Sun i read all the other books in 1 day each so it took me 4days total (i'm homeschooled and have alot of time to read) but i'm diying out here i started my boyfriend dragon series (pretty cool)

The fact is that they didn't actually film in Volterra. they filmed it in another town, close to volterra. I found it out when we visited volterra in november.
