We had our doubts about whether the screenshot of Michael Copon’s Facebook status “Michael is the older Jacob Black!” from December 10th was real. And, even if it was a real screenshot–was it really his page? Well, it looks like it was real screenshot, and it really is his page. Check out these new videos and screenshots that were sent to us from a tipster from his Facebook page, the first of which is titled “MICHAEL COPON IN A TWILIGHT ZONE!”:




I doubt it’s coincidence he referenced “Twilight Zone”–perhaps a nod to the series–and after wishing a happy holidays, he says “let’s start a new year, it’s gonna be a fun one” with a big grin. Here’s another video he posted back on November 11th that further proves it is, indeed, his Facebook page:


Michael Copon’s page also has pictures dating back more than a year, such as this one from the set of the Scorpion King on October 10, 2007:

The caption says “call me the pebble since I am playing the younger rock!”. It’s not clear if the “Michael is the older Jacob Black!” status is just as significant, but it sure is suspicious. It may just be that one of his friends told him he looked a lot like an older Jacob Black from the Twilight movie and he thought it was funny enough to post. There is no confirmation of Taylor Lautner being replaced from any official source. These new details give a lot of credence to the rumor, though.

Most recently, at 5:42am EST this morning, Copon posted this status update where he mentions again that he is Jacob Black:

  • it's not official from Summit yet, anyways. When it said on the Facebook page, "michael is the older jacob black" it might of meant jacob in eclipse/breaking dawn.
    He sounds like a freaking dumbass!

    I have a VERY hard time believing that Summit wouldn't have already cracked down on this guy and told him to keep his mouth shut if he WAS the new Jacob Black. They've been very tight-lipped about all other announcements thus far, so if they were letting this guy tell the world he's the new Jake before they made an announcement, I would be SHOCKED.
