Poll: Who Should Play Jacob Black? Results

Jacob Black Poll - Taylor Lautner, Michael Copon, Steven Strait

Well, it’s been a seven days and it’s time to announce this week’s results–the poll we started on December 12th as to who should play Jacob Black in New Moon has received a whopping 6010 votes, and what do you guys say? Taylor, Taylor, Taylor!

Taylor is way in the lead, taking more than half the vote with a huge 3133 votes. Michael Copon and Steven Strait split the rest of the votes with 22% and 25% respectively.

There’s still time to vote, and we’ll leave the poll open if you want to add your say. We’ll be sending the results of this poll with the petition, as well!

On a side note, our Team Edward or Team Jacob Poll shows that Edward is the big winner with a landslide of 87% and Jacob receiving only 228 votes, or 13%.

Another way of looking at it–if only 13% prefer Jacob, and 52% want Taylor…..then only about 7% of fans are truly dedicated to Taylor Lautner.

    I love Steven, and the Steven in Sky High was who I imagine Jacob Black to be like. But now, he's much too old to play Jacob Black....

    Yes on STEVEN STRAIT! His sex appeal will certainly compete really well against Rob and would put us all in high gear! Michael Copon should be considered for a part of Sam, not Jacob. How can your replace Jacob with Michael who has a lesser talent and looks than Taylor. Steven Strait is a very acceptable replacement. He's equally as HOT as Rob, so it's more believable and exciting to see both of them fighting for Bella's love.

    Im with everyone for Steven Strait. to me, he has always been the older jake. I love taylor, he did a good job, but with the small budget and limited time frame, its hard to cram in all the "digital buffing" to make him look older.

    I agree with you SkylerZX, I love Taylor and totally think he should play Jacob but if their is re-casting.......Then they should deffinetly pick Steven Strait. I watched him in the covenant and the whole time he looked like an older Taylor.

    I usually don't like re-casting between sequals so I'd prefer probably perfer they stay with him. But if they have to change, I really really hope its Steve Strait, I honestly think he would play a good Jacob.

  • I have to agree with Liz on that... I'm not particularly Team Jacob, but Taylor has made me see the light to that side. I would be heartbroken if they replaced him aswell. Its not right.

  • Good point--I guess it does sound like I said that people not in that 7% aren't dedicated to Taylor--but I did make sure to put "truly" dedicated in italics. ;-)

    Hey, wasn't there a petition sent against casting Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen??? Maybe the least popular guy would be the best choice. I think Michael Copon should be the older Jacob Black. But he has to keep his mouth shut until the decision is made. I think him talking about it is hurting his image. Maybe his facebook profile was just promoting himself (like, hey look, I am the older Jacob, like I would be the best choice), and not really claiming that he got the role. Misinterpreted.

    taylor lautner is a good actor but i still think that he should be replaced. he looks way too young to play the role of jacob especially in new moon, eclipse and in breaking dawn. i mean he can be jacob in the movie, but the younger version, prior to his becoming a werewolf. jacob is supposed to look older due to the werewolves' growth spurt and taylor lautner won't be able to put on enough muscle in such a short span of time. plus he won't get any taller too. no offense to taylor's fans, this is just an opinion. :)

    Ok, I understand the need to stay with the original actor, but why couldn't they have cast Stephen Strait in the first place? Don't get me wrong, Taylor Lautner is probably a great actor (not that I've seen him in anything other than Twilight), but Stephen Strait is just.... SEXY.

    if they recast jacob i refuse to watch the rest of the movies and will tell other people not to watch. it would be gay to recast a main character!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i garuntee that they fill loose half their fan base and it would be a HUGE watse of money.     i love steven strait and i think he shoud be jacob becouse he is taller and maybe not stronger but like taylor he can make musles and i think that tylor is great and i love him too but steven is better for this role and after twilight and new moon (becouse we alredy know who is playing jacob) tylor will find many roles for next years
