Say Goobye to Taylor Lautner as Jacob in New Moon?

Taylor Lautner Special FX Buffed Up for New Moon More trouble in New Moon land. Two sources have told Entertainment Weekly that Summit doesn’t want to bring Taylor Lautner back as Jacob in the sequel.

Lautner’s agent has apparently reached out to the ­imaging company behind The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in an attempt to demonstrate to Summit how a digitally bulked-up Lautner could work. (Summit says it won’t make a decision until a new filmmaker is on board.) There’s also the matter of finding a cast of Native American actors to play Jacob’s werewolf clan — a difficult challenge Hardwicke was also faced with before ­settling on Lautner, who isn’t completely ­Native American. And with a slightly increased budget of $50 million — much of which is ­assumed will go to leads asking for heftier paydays, location shoots in Italy, and ramped-up F/X — Summit will have to scrimp somewhere.

I’m not sure about how smart it is to spend tons of money on digital FX just to make Jacob look bigger, as he buffs out to play the wolfman. That money could be spent better elsewhere–oh, I dunno, on a great script perhaps? The story is what matters, after all.

    SORRY BUT I LOVE THE TWILIGHT SAGA MORE THAN I DO TAYLOR and i would rather they NOT spend so much money on having to make Taylor look MORE the part(wich the wouldnt have to if he really WAS PERFECT for the role.) PLUS NO AMOUNT of Bulking him up is going to make his FACIAL FEATURES look 25 AND if they have to make him look older too then it wont even really feel like it;s even Taylor playing the part anymore to me. LET ME ALSO POINT OUT that in N.M when Bella first sees Jacob again for th first time and she notices how tall he has gotten, jacob replies to her"yeah I am still a bean pole though" SO he is never even realy Bulky in N.M.. Yea Of course his muscles are more defined,BUT he isn't BULKY. I want to see EVERYONES performance inolved In N.M.

    What is this, Rob re-run time? What i mean is, ALOT of you guys are judging the guy that may play the next Jacob,IF there is a new guy BEFORE he is even revealed OR has shown us what he can do. This is like Deja vu ALL OVER AGAIN and it reminds me of all the COMPLAINERS of when Rob was first cast as Edward. SO MANY people were whining about it BEFORE they even gave him a chance and he Proved himself and we all saw that he was MORE than PERFECT for the role of Edward. ARE WE GOING TO DO THIS TO THE NEXT GUY TOO??? If they replaced any of the Cullens,then THAT is something to freak about.

    PLUS the change in Jacob for N.M is supposed to be so Dramatic that he is almost unrecognizable and I too usually don't like when people are changed for roles, BUT I Think for all these reasons i can make an acception. THINK ABOUT IT... MAYBE the next guy will be AMAZING,just as good as Taylor or MAYBE even better. Give him a chance please.

    i think you are right ENAMORADA .. and just like you said they should at least give this guy ( hopefully Michael Copon) a chance.. i think he is perfect for the older jacob.. :) and i think hes going to be amazing in N.M.. :) but who ever it is i just HOPE that the movie will be more like the book.. and i hope this new director does what he is supposed to do!! :)

    i think if they are going to replace taylor for the michael copon they should do it in eclipse maybe.. i have seen how excited taylor looks when he talks about the next movies.. and it would be like.. disappointing to know that you would be changed by another TALL and hot guy.. he would feel like.. awful..

    Taylor Lautner is the perfect person to play the role of Jacob Black. If you dont let him be in New Moon the movie will stink really bad and i will watch it, but i will rate it a really bad rating. I truly believe that Taylor has what it takes to be Jacob and you guys fattening him is the wrong thing to do. He is a hot guy with wonderful muscles and you guys shouldn't change the poor guy just cause you think he hasnt developed yet.     Why do you guys like taylor so much did he cure cancer or something? or even do a great acting job for 3 min. as Jacob in Twilight i think not. Whats up? and please explain it to me without using hes perfect, dreamy, xoxox, taylor forever, or he can grow 10 inches in 2 months etc. woooowza and the lame well they cant recast some1 who was in the 1st movie for 4 scenes itd be madness. seriously not a great argument guys. Someone older, and yes of course bigger, with more darkness, and egde to him, and heart would be a good change. A more well rounded actor that could honestly pull this character off well, would be awesomeness. Why are you twilight fans so against this. This recast seems to be for the sole purpose of trying to be true to the books. Obviously . and people are not only against Taylor, for the obvious physical concerns hes too small. Alice was described as teeny but i like who plays her she seems like Alice, I can dig it, It makes me happy cuz shes plays alice well, personality wise so far, and it works. Jacobs a very dynamic character in lots of ways and I honestly dont feel Taylors right for this, and will portray him well. If I saw the potential there i wouldnt be typing this. And i dont. Its very simple, please you guys open yourself up for a second and seriously biased free say hes Jacob because i cant even though i too think hes a hotttie.

    I think that Emmett should be in the movie more because I am in love with Kellan Lutz!! and I am glad that he thinks that Twilight wasn't very good acording to the book and they should have that scene in there with the blood in biology! I hope New Moon will be much better!!

    I think that Emmett should be in the movie more because I am in love with Kellan Lutz!! and I am glad that he thinks that Twilight wasn't very good acording to the book and they should have that scene in there with the blood in biology! I hope New Moon will be much better!!

    Taylor's character, Jacob, is more prominent in "New Moon" than it was in "Twilight". And it will be so in the rest of the saga. This is just the beginning for Taylor. Taylor has also shown his commitment to the Twilight Saga by physically changing himself to fit the character. I'm sure with all this new technical enhancements and digital effects of the filming industry, Taylor can continue to portray Jacob for the rest of the saga. A lot of fans will be very disappointed if Taylor is replaced, me included.
