Ashley Greene Confirms Script Rewrite, Hudgens Audition

Ashley Greene Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in Twilight, has confirmed to MTV News that Vanessa Hudgens is auditioning for the role of Leah Clearwater in New Moon, confirming one of the possible actresses that we mentioned recently for the part. Though Leah doesn’t play a huge part in New Moon, her role becomes more important later in the series, and Eclipse is set to be filmed directly after New Moon. Greene says that “I think she’d be great” of Hudgens. Also confirmed is changes to Rosenberg’s script for New Moon–

“I hear they’re doing another rewrite,” the actress revealed of the in-flux script. “I’m with you guys — I’m so excited to read it.”

On the one hand, I’m glad they’re giving plenty of attention to the script, but on the other–are they really going to be able to finish this film in 10 months if they don’t even have a completed script yet?

    I don't think I could drag myself to see the movie if Vanessa hudgens was in it. Her annoying little voice. I see Leah as kick ass attitude, not some squeaky voice singing behind the rest of the pack. I don't think I could pay attention with her in one of these films. I would always see her singing and dancing. She'd be a singing and dancing werewolf to me. If she does get cast I hope she brings it and does a GOOD performance.

    PLEASE SO VANESSA! That would ruin the movie. Everyone is sooo used to her being in like cutesy movies like HSM and having her in new moon would ruin it. It just doesn't work. Also, she is SOOOO not right for the part!! She doesn't have the attitude that leah has, I just don't like this idea, and not many people do. I would be very upset if she turns out to be Leah in the movie. PLEASE NO VANESSA! Its not good for this AMAZING book that will be turned into a movie. If you pick Vanessa, she will have a bigger part in Eclipse, and I know I won't like her and she won't do a good job! HELP PLEASE NO!

And i dont think they should test that with this movie, because if she doesnt do a good job for the next 2 movies, alot of people will be very angry. Myself included. They should audition girls from a Quileute tribe, or even a real Aborignal girl. Anyone but Vanessa Hudgens!!!

    Who cares if it's a small part, if I see her face in the movie - then the whole thing is ruined for me..

    I have a picture in my head when I think of Leah Clearwater but it's not even like the 'cute and babyish Vanessa'! My love for the movie will go down like 99% if she gets casts. Fingers crossed that she doesn't.

  • I rlllllly did not want Vanessa to be cast, but if she is, she better do one hell of a job. Considering that you guys, and myself, and a crapload of people doubt she can be a satisfactory Leah, she reallyyyy needs to work her butt off if she is cast. None of this cutesy Disney-ish crap. She rlly needs to like, channel Leah Clearwater. Lol Im getting rlly specific but seriously, if she wants people to believe her as Leah she better do a kickass job... cuz Leah is the tough werewolf girl, and like even now I cant see Vanessa fulfilling that. But idk, she may surprise us. Hope she does if she gets the part. Not that it matters for NM, Leah barely shows up for NM. Leahs biggest appearance is Breaking Dawn, so its not that much of a big deal at the moment if Vanessa gets the part. But still.

    PLEASE SO VANESSA! That would ruin the movie. Everyone is sooo used to her being in like cutesy movies like HSM and having her in new moon would ruin it. It just doesn't work. Also, she is SOOOO not right for the part!! She doesn't have the attitude that leah has, I just don't like this idea, and not many people do. I would be very upset if she turns out to be Leah in the movie. PLEASE NO VANESSA! Its not good for this AMAZING book that will be turned into a movie. If you pick Vanessa, she will have a bigger part in Eclipse, and I know I won't like her and she won't do a good job! HELP PLEASE NO!

I can see it but she would have to act really really well to pull off this role and they would have to make a makeover of her so she appears less cute and looks older. but the most important would still be the acting. this might be her chance to prove she can play a 'serious' character if that's what she's going for.
