MTV Mistaken, Hudgens Not Auditioning?

The MTV News Story that we reported yesterday about Vanessa Hudgens auditioning for New Moon is being denied by Hudgen’s camp. Quick, hand me my drama-mine! MTV News is typically fairly reputable, so–consipiracy theory!–I wonder if the producers and publicists pulling the strings aren’t just leaking stories to the press so that they can get quick and dirty public feedback in response–like a movie focus group for free. Whatever the case, I’m suprised that MTV ran with the headline “Vanessa Hudgens Auditions For ‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon‘” yesterday if it’s completely untrue.

According to Just Jared Jr:

“I don’t know anything about the audition,” Vanessa’s rep tells JJJ. “As far as I know, it’s just a rumor.”
Seems that Ashley Greene’s comment about Vanessa was taken way out of context because SpoilerTV is reporting that the character of Leah isn’t even being cast for!

Then again, who is the unnamed “Vanessa’s rep” that JJJ is reporting? Facts people, we need facts!

I don't like her either, and i deffiantely can't see her pulling off the roll of Leah Clearwater at all. Plus like they said Leah doesn't even appear until Eclipse so i don't know why there's so much hype when Eclipse isn't even coming out this year....

Maybe it's just me, but I'd really like people to take New Moon (as well as Twilight and the other books / movies) seriously. Casting a disney princess to play a werewolf might put this series in a catagory that it doesn't belong in.

I completely agree and Brenda Song!! Seriously, Brenda Song!! She is a horrible option. can't we find a native American actress for Leah? And, who is going to play Emily? What about the girl who played Pocahontas in New World (Q'Orianka Kilcher)? She would be good for Emily I think. Both roles are a MUST in the movie they were such big parts in the book!!

ok heres my comment. Its not much to anyone but here it is anyway.
They have been saying that they wanted this movie like Twilight to be made with unknown people. Not new but ones that can bring a reallness to it. Right? Well Why not use some of these for their werewolves and such. They are both in the design who they are looking for as well as great actors that have been around but not too famous to kill the movie.

The whole imprinting piece would be lost- not to mention Sam's intense hatred of the Cullens- without the introduction of her character and storyline. Hmmm.... this is upsetting. yeah your deff reading to much into it, there not casting leah just yet, because there worrying about new moon right now, they already said there making eclipse and breaking dawn so closer to the time they'll probably go look for leah. because i kinda didnt think she'd be in new moon cause all they mention her is at the blacks dinner and i think she was like on the phone, because another clue that shes not in new moon is because i didnt read anything about them casting for seth and leah doesnt really go anywhere without seth, like the book says shes protective over him so idt they would have her and not him. i think they may bring her in, in eclipse. but im not 100% sure.

Vanessa would be completely not fit for Leah. or any other role in New Moon. she doesn't even
have a well-balanced range as an actress. all she basically does is Disney movies. basically in my opinion, she would destroy the movie. I think it would be best to have less known actors in the Twilight movies..it would make it that much more unique and enjoyable.

uhm, im not really opposed for hudgens to be the lee-lee in the movie but thinking about her as the werewolf-girl-who-hates-vampires, i dont think that she fits. leah in the story is some kind of a bad girl abd hudgens won't make it, i guess.

I think she can play a bad girl really well. I'm not a fan of Vanessa...but immaturity and prejudices aside I honestly think she fits the part. She'll do good as Leah. Let's give her a chance.
