Dakota Fanning told reporters how excited she was about the chance of being Jane while doing press for her new movie Push:

“I think it’s too soon to tell if I’ll for sure be doing it, but it’s so great,” she told Access Hollywood on Saturday at the junket for her latest film, “Push.” “I’m a really big fan of that series and the first film and all the actors in it, so it would be wonderful.”

Also, Summit has confirmed to Access Hollywood that Fanning is one of the people being considered–

“We are considering all actors that have the unique requirements for the look of Jane — Dakota being one of them,” a rep for Summit told Access.

Fanning also thinks she has the right look for the part–even the pale skin:

“I don’t think they’ll have to put a lot of makeup on me,” she joked. “I’m pretty white already.”

Source for all things sexy in the Twilight universe, Lion & Lamb Love, has posted a bunch of new pics of a J-14 Taylor Lautner photoshoot. Hellooooooo gorgeous! I’m not so sure about the photographer’s set and stylist choices–the whole thing feels a bit department store catalog to me–but man, Taylor is shaping up to be a fine leading man.

People has posted a set of four actors they think would do well in the role of Alec opposite Jane:

Possessing the ability to numb a victim’s senses, quiet but deadly Alec could be well-played by Tom Felton, who is known as Harry Potter’s foe Draco Malfoy. Some other suggestions? High School Musical’s Lucas Grabeel could follow his serious turn in Milk with an even darker one as the bloodsucker. And French actor Gaspard Ulliel of Hannibal Rising would bring a terrifying pedigree to the character, while Freddie Highmore, who sweetly stole scenes in Willy Wonka and Finding Neverland, could bring out his bad side.

Me? I’m kind of keen on the already sorta-scary and gender neutral waif duo, the Olsen Twins, playing Jane and Alec as mentioned by Keisha in the comments to our previous story about Alec.

America Young, who has had supporting roles in movies I’ve never heard of such as The Dead Undead, Point of Contact, and Ultimate Weapon, has auditioned for the role of Emily in New Moon, according to a post on the blog of (her?) entertainment lawyer–

Oh!!! And I got to audition for New Moon today! For the role of Emily. The casting director, you fans of the book will be glad to know, has read the books and loves them. And you can tell. His direction was spot on for the character. I loved the books. I would so love to be in the movie!!!

I’ve never heard of America Young, but if this picture is any indication, I think the part-Native American actress could be a good fit for Emily. What do you guys think?
