i just don't see either of them as being able to play the part in this movie. Leah Clearwater is supposed to be tough and outgoing, outspoken, and i always imagined her as "breakable" i just don't think vanessa anne hudgen's would be able to pull that off. I think of vanessa as the uni-actress. She only has one style of acting which is the shy, beautiful, girly type. I just can't imagine her as a wolf. Leah Clearwater is absolutly not girly and she has a problem with her emotions. She is angry all the time. Vanessa would not be able to pull that off. Brenda song would probably be closer to the semi-okay line for an actress. Brenda has a better variety in acting and as you can see as in wendy wu homecoming warrior she can act outspoken, a leader, and she is beautiful but not the gorgeous type. I think that Leah Clearwater should be played by the girl from Stepmom i forget her name but she's just an amazing actress! She has just the perfect amount of snark and should totally be playing Leah Clearwater.

I don't have a huge problem with either actress. Not to be racist or anything, but Brenda Song being Non-native american is a huge issue. If they do decide to cast Brenda then they'll have to make Seth, Leah's brother, asian as well and then the whole family will have to be asian. When you have people like Brenda and Vanessa with incredibly established roles in one of THE most popular franchises in the world, it is almost impossible for people to look at them any other way than their respective roles. Well what I'm meaning is that soooo many people know them from "Highschool Musical" and "Wendy Wu" and knowing that no one could get in their head that that girl is leah. Neither of them are the type that leah is, anyway. This would be a horrible idea. Also, it can't be Brenda--She is chinese! And Vanessa, is just not right for the part. This is a serious movie not a happy go lucky musical that she is used to. It's just not right. PLEASE DONT PICK EITHER OF THEM!!!

If anyone has seen The New World (Collin Farrell movie), the girl who plays Pocahontas would be a good choice for Miss Clearwater. Okay though I like musicals I stood ten feet back from HSM and didnt even touch it with a pole. I was that put off. My personal interpretation of Leah was a Native American with more of a G I Jane with hair appeal. A pretty girl with alot of tom-boy, attitude, and tuffness built in. Vanessa looks squishy. She also needs to be someone who atleast looks Native American and despite her skills only with tons of movie plastic could they possible pull it off with Brenda. I agree 100% though why pass up an actual Native American beauty when there are so many to choose from.

Okay though I like musicals I stood ten feet back from HSM and didnt even touch it with a pole. I was that put off. My personal interpretation of Leah was a Native American with more of a G I Jane with hair appeal. A pretty girl with alot of tom-boy, attitude, and tuffness built in. Vanessa looks squishy. She also needs to be someone who atleast looks Native American and despite her skills only with tons of movie plastic could they possible pull it off with Brenda. I agree 100% though why pass up an actual Native American beauty when there are so many to choose from.
