there is no such thing as a small part, and sometimes actors want to be apart of a great project that they believe in even if it is only a small part. The role might be small but it still needs to be acted well.

You are correct, it is a great project, but my concern is that by the time they get to Eclipse the star power will overshadow the story. The story is a very riveting love story about "normal" people (or as normal as vampires are I guess). Which is why I think it attracks the people it does. It would be very sad if it was ruined just to make a buck, the movies will make plenty of money without the big stars. Take Bella's mom in Twilight for instance, a very small part by a good actress although not STAR power, still a great actress and she got the job done. NO need for someone with a bigger name to be in that part. Just let the movie be what it is.

What's in a name? A good actor is good actor no matter what their name is, should the film be deprived of the best just because the 'hot topic wearing, my life sucks and I hate high school' crowd think that they have a monopoly on Twilight. Ok, I am going to weigh in with the obvious thing that everyone has ignored....Jane is a vampire...and ever-frozen-in-time vampire. Anyone young enough to play Jane is going to be noticably older in subsequent films, they might even grow taller, which would ruin the effect of all these terrifying vampires being so scared of her. With that said, Dakota Fanning has younger sister that looks A LOT like her. Elle has played Dakota's younger self in more then one film.She is four years younger, and an experienced actress herself. I think it would be awesome for Dakota to start the part, and her sister Elle end up the film. It makes sense if you think about it, it would helpkeep the continuity of the character's appearance. They need to find a similar pair to play Alec, especially since boys hit puberty at around that age and that could really screw things up. Think about how most of the fans reacted to possibility of Talyor Lautner being replaced, it could ruin the series. It just makes sense to plan for the sequels. That's my vote!

they're going to shoot the movie NM & Eclipse back to back so the casting directors don't have to worry about an actress aging and looking older cause they are going to shoot all her parts at the same time

When i was reading New Moon Jodelle was exactly like how i picture Jane. Then when i saw her picture i was like she has to get it. no offense to dakota but i personally just think jodelle will be more believeavble and also she just looks more the part.

i totally agree with you about the whole vanessa hudgens thing she will totally ruin the whole movie.

Don't get me wrong I think amanda seyfried is a good actress but to old to play a role that's described as being fiercely childlike. Jodelle Ferland looks the part the best!

Yes she would!! The little girl that Victoria turned and nobody killed at the battle and Carlisle was trying to save her from the volturi but they ended up killing her anyway... she would be perfect.

Yes you are right about how Jane has brown hair and it wouldn't be hard to get hair color, but the fact is Dakota can't pull off a scary role like Jodelle Ferland can! She has wide eyes, full lips, and a childlike voice. Her eyes are red/black. Along with her face being angelic, it is also described as being fiercely childlike.

Jodelle. Hands down. I haven't seen Silent Hill, but know of other work she has done before that on the Stargate series. She is an amazing actress, and has been since the age of seven when she played Adria -- ultimate universal evil caught in a little girl's body. And she later played another character at 12 -- a good/bad EVIL girl who liked to play the other characters off of each other. She pulled both roles off amazingly well, and every comment I've ever heard from the cast and crew who worked with her said she was incredibly professional and that they were very impressed with her.

Lucy Hale looks too old for the part. I think Jodelle would be great! and she is more creepy xD but Dakota is good too
