Robert pattinson in how to be

The Robert Pattinson flick How to Be, which he shot before Twilight, has just announced a release in the US! It looks to be a quirky indie comedy –

We’re excited to announce the much-anticipated U.S. release of How To Be! The film has been picked up for distribution by IFC Films and will premiere on IFC Festival Direct in April. To coincide with IFC’s spring release, the How To Be soundtrack will be available on iTunes and on CD through Dreamboat Records. Full details of the release to come soon, and if you’re not in the U.S. or Italy then rest assured that we are hard at work setting up distribution elsewhere!

Here’s the trailer–check after the break for 10 more pictures from the movie!

twilight 300 this is

One of the most hotly charged topics yet on NewMoonMovie.org has been the harsh words writer Stephen King had for Stephenie Meyer. King said that Meyer “can’t write worth a darn,” and over 500 comments later, you guys definitely had some choice words to share about his opinion.

Baltimore Sun columnist Dave Rosenthal has penned an opinion piece on what this war of words means. I thought it was worth sharing–

Here’s a shorthand version of the King/Meyer Comment Spectrum: King is coasting on his early fame and is jealous of her success; King is rude to criticize another writer; King is a great writer. Meyer is a thesaurus-abusing hack; Meyer shouldn’t be allowed to make vampires sparkle; Meyer may not be the greatest writer, but she creates compelling stories; Meyer is a great writer and storyteller.

The truth, as the cliche goes, lies somewhere in between. For all the criticism about Meyer’s writing – and I don’t begrudge King the right to give his opinion – there’s no denying her power as a storyteller. Meanwhile, she has made millions of teens into readers, and that’s to her credit.

Hey, when I was a kid, I survived on Whoppers, Superman comics and bubble-gum music. I wasn’t going to change by being offered steak au poivre, Shakespeare and Brahms. Eventually, though, I moved on.

So, I say to the Meyer-haters: Lighten up. And consider these words of Kurt Vonnegut, supplied by commenter Robin: Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.

madonna twilight new moon

In today’s WTF moment, Madonna is reportedly in talks to participate in New Moon. Oh my, these rumors are getting out of hand! Next thing you know, David Beckham and Brad & Angelina will be in! It was reportedly stated by Ryan Seacrest–did anyone see this? I would love to see the clip:

According to Ryan on E! News, Madonna will be involved in the sequel to “Twilight” which the second movie will be made on the second book of the “Twilight Saga”, “New Moon”. Guy Oseary is the executive producer to the movie starring Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart.

It is unknown to whether Madonna will either act in the second installment to the saga film or sing for the soundtrack or both.

Twilight Alice Cullen Action Figure Doll

We already have two versions of the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan action figures / dolls, but this is the first we’ve seen of the rest of the Twilight cast getting a mini-likeness. NECA has revealed at this year’s Comic-Con that Alice Cullen will be getting her own action figure as well. Ashley Green has mentioned in the past how much she would like to have an action figure made–saying it would kick Barbie’s butt:

Q: “If ‘Twilight’ is a hit, what would be the coolest thing about being in a blockbuster?” – Puppy Love

Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen): I want an action figure. An action figure would be really, really cool.

MTV: Are there any plans? Have you heard anything?

Greene: There’s been talk. Hopefully, [the film will] do well enough that all that stuff can come out, and they’ll have posters and action figures and everything. [To Jackson] Would you want an action figure?

Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale): Sure, why not?

MTV: What would you do with your action figure once you got it?

Greene: I would put it up on a pedestal, with stuff around it. The funny thing is if they came out with an action figure — they did such a good job at making us look the part — that my action figure wouldn’t even really look like me as a person. But it would be cool to have it, as a character.

MTV: You could have her hang out with Barbie.

Greene: No, it would kick Barbie’s butt. It would not be like Barbie.
