MTV interviewed NECA, maker of tons of Twilight schwag, as well as the Twilight action figures, and they report that they’re going to be pumping out the wares big time for New Moon–including a full line of dolls to be released at the same time as the movie. Though I’m defintely feeling the Twilight merchandise tie-in fatigue, I gotta say, I’m kinda excited about the action figures–if only because it promises the possibility of some really wicked fan created YouTube videos, Robot Chicken style. Peter Facinelli talked about New Moon last night at the Costume Designers Guild Awards and he says that they “start Rehearsals in about 3 weeks and start filming in April.” Is filming pushed back a little or is the March 23rd date we’ve heard so far just for rehearsals?

Kellan Lutz and AnnaLynne McCord, who hopes to play Heidi in New Moon, definitely have some chemistry, as witnessed by the recent photo from the Playboy Mansion. E! notes that they were recently spotted at New York Fashion Week together–where Lutz, , who played Emmett Cullen in Twilight,  had this to say on their “friendship”

“You know, we’re really close and we’re all for each other’s careers. And we actually bounce a lot of career choices and the like off each other, so it’s nice to have someone in the industry who you can really, you know, be honest with versus your agent, versus your manager, the lawyer, who really want to do stuff for the money and for the wrong reasons a lot of times. So it’s nice to have friends who are smart and intelligent who know the business side of the business. That’s what AnnaLynne is. Therefore we’re friends.”

AnnaLynne McCord, most notable for having a whopping 4 capital letters in her name, had this to say about New Moon–

“[The audition] went really well,” she said. “We haven’t found out yet. I’m just sitting here, crossing the fingers, hoping it’ll work out. I really loved meeting with Chris Weitz. He’s a darling director, and it would be cool to work on it. Obviously, I’m a fan of Twilight. I’m a huge vampire fan, so that, in general, makes me want to do the film.”

Taylor Lautner had a hairy situation with his wig in Twilight– and is hoping for a strand of relief in New Moon–

Taylor told Teen mag: “When I first heard that I was going to be wearing a wig I was really excited.

“I was like “Cool, I have never worn a wig before, this is going to be fun change my look up a bit.”

“But then, after the first day of filming I was through with it. It was really itchy, it was always getting in my face! I’d be trying to eat lunch and it’s in my mouth and, yeah, even when were filming the scenes and I’m talking and it’s in my mouth and agh! It was quite the adventure with the wig.”

He won’t be wearing the wig much in New Moon.

Taylor explains: “The good news is when he (Jacob) transforms into a werewolf he cuts the long hair off, so I’d have regular hair.”

YouTuber Tiffanyd666 has made an entirely new high quality remix/recut of her amazing New Moon trailer, and it is more stunning than ever. She says–

To honour breaking the 3 million views milestone, and also (it is a bit early) to celebrate 1 year of being a very proud Twituber (Twi-vidder technically) this is a gift to the hard core fans of my New Moon Trailer; here is a HQ version, ‘remade’ with Sony Vegas Pro 8.0. Tweaked slightly with a little bit of different footage and some stylish font, (to seem a tad more realistic) I kept the trailer mostly the same, seeing as the majority of fans seem to have already, and whole heartedly accepted it. I did keep Steven Strait as Jacob because I really wanted to make a re-vamped (no pun intened) version of my original trailer, but I am currently working on a new ‘New Moon trailer’ with Taylor Lautner, which I will post sometime after the (Australian) DVD release of twilight.
