Demi Lovato Wants in on New Moon Soundtrack, At Least Knows Who Jacob Black Is

In what seems like the thousandth article we’ve posted about Disney stars wanting in on the New Moon soundtrack, today our new contender comes via an MTV News Interview–

The 16-year-old Twilighter and “Sonny With a Chance” star let it slip to MTV News that she might be a fan of Bella’s werewolf pal Jacob (played in the movie by Taylor Lautner). “Edward Cullen — I would write a love song to him,” the singer/actress said, before giddily adding, “Or Jacob Black!”
Lovato also said she’d love the chance to participate in any way possible in “New Moon,” the movie’s hotly anticipated sequel, though she’s sure being on the soundtrack is her best bet. “I think it’d be cool to be in the soundtrack,” she told MTV News. “Maybe, but … it’s like anything that would happen that’d be awesome. I don’t know if I’d make a good vampire or a good werewolf.”

You know, I have never heard of her, but at least she knows who Jacob Black is–you may remember that the Jonas Brothers hadn’t even seen Twilight yet when they made their New Moon pitch.

(1) when she is quoted as saying, " I dont know if I will be a good vampire or werewolf". That means you can not act; at least for this film series. People should know who they would be and how they would portray the character. Not shrugging the shoulders and guessing who to play.

(2) When you go on tour with J Bros, that means you are not right for this film. Musicians go on tour with others who compliment their own talents. 50 cent and Snoop Dogg do not tour with Miley Cyrus. SO if J Bros are no good, than her and her music are as well.

(3) She's Disney! and this is New Moon......'nough said

It's not about them working for Disney...it's how they sound.

JoBros and Ms. Lovato are upbeat and poppy tween stars.She has one song that JUST might fit into the New moon soundtrack,big deal.My sister has her CD,and 80% is all happy-pop music.New Moon is the book that made us all cry,made us all depressed for weeks until Edward came back...how can you feel that way watching a movie with songs by these artists?

Bottom line:no popstars on the soundtrack.Bring back Muse and all the other bands from Twilight.They fit the album perfectly.

Who really cares if Disney people are in the movie. You guys are all saying that it would ruin the movie. Well here's some news for you. The first movie wasn't even that good. I get it. I watch it cuz i love the books but the movie is cheesy and it doesn't even follow the book. "You better hang on spider monkey?" Who thinks up these lines? Plus they are all dramatic when in the first book they were happy and acted like teenagers. So i can't see how the second one would get worse with a disney star if it is already at the bottom.

I watched the video. it's an ok song but way too upbeat. New moon is depressing and dark, not a time for happy upbeat songs. Saying that she can make a new sadder song could be applied to any artist. She doesn't have any sad songs now so how could we know if it would turn out good or not? The soundtrack should have artists that have done songs in the past that would fit well so that we know they con do a good song for New Moon.

I think it's ridiculous everyone is categorizing Disney Stars. It's a little immature and lame if you ask me. There are a lot of talented people signed with Disney. I know everyone hates Disney stars, but guess what, they're talented, and probably more talented than any of you, so get over it. I think that if they have a song on the soundtrack, it won't be the end of the world, or make the movie the WORST EVER. Heck, I still don't like some songs on the twi soundtrack. Like the prom song? That song sucks. Sorry- it does. I don't think it's the end of the world guys, so take a deep breath, and relax. You have to have faith that the producers and staff will do what they feel is best for the movie- and Stephenie is there looking out for us- don't worry.

Ok, I'm thinking that the reason all the Disney stars are coming out of the woodwork for this movie is because it's being deemed as a tween/teen movie., which is their primary audience. So they think they will fit right in. WRONG. I'm nineteen and stopped watching disney when I was 13. Back in middle school. (no offense, personal preference)

to be completely honest, I really doubt I'm going to be paying much attention to the songs in the movie. If it was a musical, I would be more concerned.

i've been so strongly opposed to this disney/twilight crossover issue, but if i had to choose a disney star to take part in this, it would be demi lovato. she's almost a disney outcast, which--if you subtract "disney" from that phrase--is kind of cool.
it would be a hell of a lot better if disney just kept their distance from this stuff, but if there was no way around mickey and friends, i would choose her. anyone agree?

I like Demi Lovato and out of all the Disney stars, who want in on New Moon, she would be the only person I'd be okay with on the soundtrack but I'd really like it if they did what they did with the last soundtrack and get artists that we haven't really heard of. Iron & Wine, Mutemath, Blue Foundation and The Black Ghost were all good bands and I never heard of them when I bought the soundtrack but when I listened to it I loved it. As long as the music is good then it really doesn't matter who's in it. I mean Taylor and Jacksone were from Disney so should we kick them to the curb since we don't want any Disney people in New Moon?

I watched the video. it's an ok song but way too upbeat. New moon is depressing and dark, not a time for happy upbeat songs. Saying that she can make a new sadder song could be applied to any artist. She doesn't have any sad songs now so how could we know if it would turn out good or not? The soundtrack should have artists that have done songs in the past that would fit well so that we know they con do a good song for New Moon.

umm yeah she had it right. she wouldnt make a god vampire or werewolf. but if she sang a really slow calm song for the movie she could possibly be in the soundtrack. but none of that screamin. but i still dont think disney stars are the right fit. but who knows.

I LOVE Demi Lovato. I think her being involved in any way in NM is great. What sets her apart from other Disney kids is that she actually HAS talent. So thatd be so cool if she was involved. Her voice would be an awesome contribution to the NM soundtrack.. I could totally see her recording a dark song fitting the mood of the book/movie.

I think it's ridiculous everyone is categorizing Disney Stars. It's a little immature and lame if you ask me. There are a lot of talented people signed with Disney. I know everyone hates Disney stars, but guess what, they're talented, and probably more talented than any of you, so get over it. I think that if they have a song on the soundtrack, it won't be the end of the world, or make the movie the WORST EVER. Heck, I still don't like some songs on the twi soundtrack. Like the prom song? That song sucks. Sorry- it does. I don't think it's the end of the world guys, so take a deep breath, and relax. You have to have faith that the producers and staff will do what they feel is best for the movie- and Stephenie is there looking out for us- don't worry.

Okay, Demi Lovato does have a good singing voice, but it really wouldn't be fair to put her in, I mean there are so many other great songs that can go with New Moon, she doesn't even have a song ready, she says she'll write one.
I mean come on Hana Pestle is a WAY better singer, plus her song is already to go.

I swear if any of them gets in on any part of New Moon I will cry. I don't think any of them have the edge that New Moon has. They sing about happiness and love... this movie is about depression and anxiety. I dont think any of them are capable of pulling it off.

Ok, I'm thinking that the reason all the Disney stars are coming out of the woodwork for this movie is because it's being deemed as a tween/teen movie., which is their primary audience. So they think they will fit right in. WRONG. I'm nineteen and stopped watching disney when I was 13. Back in middle school. (no offense, personal preference)

to be completely honest, I really doubt I'm going to be paying much attention to the songs in the movie. If it was a musical, I would be more concerned.

i've been so strongly opposed to this disney/twilight crossover issue, but if i had to choose a disney star to take part in this, it would be demi lovato. she's almost a disney outcast, which--if you subtract "disney" from that phrase--is kind of cool.
it would be a hell of a lot better if disney just kept their distance from this stuff, but if there was no way around mickey and friends, i would choose her. anyone agree?

I like Demi Lovato and out of all the Disney stars, who want in on New Moon, she would be the only person I'd be okay with on the soundtrack but I'd really like it if they did what they did with the last soundtrack and get artists that we haven't really heard of. Iron & Wine, Mutemath, Blue Foundation and The Black Ghost were all good bands and I never heard of them when I bought the soundtrack but when I listened to it I loved it. As long as the music is good then it really doesn't matter who's in it. I mean Taylor and Jacksone were from Disney so should we kick them to the curb since we don't want any Disney people in New Moon?
