Official Contest Open: Enter to Win a Part in the New Moon Movie!

You can now enter the contest of a lifetime–to have a part in the New Moon movie. The Official Twilight Movie Site is having an amazing contest to win a part in New Moon.

To enter, you’ll need to submit a 1-minute video of yourself explaining why you deserve to be a part of New Moon, and you could win a trip to the set and a chance to appear in the film. You’ll have to be at least 14 and a resident of the US or Canada to be eligibile. Here’s some more info that you’ll find on the Official Contest Page:

The contest is judged on three criteria:
Creativity: Show Your Inventive Side and Think Outside of the Box.
Originality: Be Unique and Different, and Make Yourself Stand Out.
Clarity of Expression: Speak Clearly and Articulate Your Points Well.

Be sure to read the Official Rules carefully–I noted a few things that might stand out as potential pitfalls–

(3) Be no more than one (1) minute in length. (Submissions over one minute in length will be disqualified.)
(4) Target an English-speaking audience.
(1) Have been previously published, broadcast, televised, posted to any video-sharing. social-networking, or other web site, or entered into any other competition, contest or promotion, or exploited in any other manner.
(2) Include background or other third party artwork (e.g., posters, signage, paintings, etc.) or music unless it is an original work of the Entrant, or in the public domain (as determined by Sponsor in Sponsor’s sole discretion).
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 11:59 PM PT ON MARCH 20, 2009.

Wow I'm so disappointed. Did anyone read the official rules? Your basically an extra in the movie its a "Walk on part" and they say there's a good chance you wont actually be in the movie. I think this is a lot of effort just for a set visit and paid accommodation. The rules are super constrictive as well. No outside sources at all. No music, logos, references, or anything. Bah!

A walk on part is still something and if you do good then you might catch there eyes for a better part in the future.................................. it's better than nothing

The exclusion of the Province of Quebec for the contest is very disturbing, considering the fact that Rachelle Lefevre who plays Victoria comes from Montreal...I think it's outrageous !

I agree that the exclusion of the Province of Quecbec is outrageous ! It's the second contest that does not allow the participation of the resident of the province of quebec. We know how to speak English as good as the rest of the Canada!

Are they ever going to announce a winner? Isn't the winner supposed to be traveling to Vancouver this week to do their walk-on, non-speaking part in the background that they will probably just cut out of the final take anyway?
