MAJOR MOTION PICTURE OPEN CALL – SATURDAY, FEB 7/09

Lewis Kay Casting is conducting a search for a Major Motion Picture. We are looking for young :

First Nations/Aboriginal Males & Females between the ages of 17 – 25.

**IF YOU FIT THE PROFILE JUST SHOW UP ANYTIME BETWEEN 10am – 5pm on Sat, FEB 7/09**

Shoots in Vancouver mid March – end of May, 2009.

Acting Experience is not a requirement*******************

If you are interested in a speaking part in a Hollywood film, please attend the open call.

LOCATION- 138 Danforth Avenue, Toronto

Easy to get to by TTC. Get off at Broadview Station.Walk south to Danforth Avenue -turn left. Then walk east half a block to the Theater. It is on the North Side of Danforth Avenue.

All attendees will be asked to read a small scene. You will have time to prepare.

There is no cost for this Open call and at no time will you be asked to pay for the ability to audition or if you are offered a role.

  • Word is they might be starting casting on Eclipse pretty soon as well. Best shot at next auditions is to go through an agent. After the mob scene in Vancouver, they may not hold open auditions again, depends on if it yielded any talent. But if you still are interested in catching the attention of a casting director, try posting your picture on Flickr, Facebook. Post a video on YouTube with an audition scene.     I went out for the audition, the casting crew was pretty chill and understanding. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but ALOT of us native folks auditioned for the role. in BC,Arizona, and of course TO.

    I can't belive I missed the chance but the worst thing is that I looked at 7/09 and mistook it for 7th/9th an honest mistake.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I don't have dark skin and am not an aboriginal/native so yea I am 15 but I do look older for my age kind of and this is fairly acessible with transit OMG what should I do?????????????

    same kind of people (same race) just different term in Canada

    usually when u audition for something they want to how old or young you can play and could care less about you actual age. If anyone is serious about auditioning and are unsure of their age and ethnicity range, take it to the streets. Ask people how old they think you are and what elasticities they think you could pass for and go off of that. That's what I did when I first started auditioning for stuff, they care more about the right look than the truth.

    Okay and I missing something, I thought the term Aboriginal was a name given to Native Aussies! Is it a term used in the U.S to identify Native Americans????

    That's true. Rumor has it the Taylor fudged his heritage. Doesn't matter to me because I can't picture anyone else in my head as Jacob. I believe that they did such a good job with casting with the first movie that whoever does get to be apart of it, will truly fit the description, Aboriginal or not.

    In my opinion this isnt just about aboriginal people. This is about a NEW hollywood where you can be brown skinned and still play a respected part in a movie. That is why Im auditioning.

    I have a question! I am brown skinned and Im look almost identical to any aboriginals. Would they allow. Another question is that Im 14 but I look like Im 18. Would they allow that as well! PLEASE RESPOND THIS IS 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE AND I WANT TO TRY IT!
