new moon soundtrack 200902251630 Demi Lovato Wants in on New Moon Soundtrack, At Least Knows Who Jacob Black Is In what seems like the thousandth article we’ve posted about Disney stars wanting in on the New Moon soundtrack, today our new contender comes via an MTV News Interview–

The 16-year-old Twilighter and “Sonny With a Chance” star let it slip to MTV News that she might be a fan of Bella’s werewolf pal Jacob (played in the movie by Taylor Lautner). “Edward Cullen — I would write a love song to him,” the singer/actress said, before giddily adding, “Or Jacob Black!”

Lovato also said she’d love the chance to participate in any way possible in “New Moon,” the movie’s hotly anticipated sequel, though she’s sure being on the soundtrack is her best bet. “I think it’d be cool to be in the soundtrack,” she told MTV News. “Maybe, but … it’s like anything that would happen that’d be awesome. I don’t know if I’d make a good vampire or a good werewolf.”

You know, I have never heard of her, but at least she knows who Jacob Black is–you may remember that the Jonas Brothers hadn’t even seen Twilight yet when they made their New Moon pitch.

funny casting 200902251552 Whats Your Best New Moon Casting Rumor? Ok, you can breathe again. Paris isn’t really going to be in New Moon. But, in light of all the crazy rumors swirling about New Moon–from Madonna to every ex-Disney star out there wanting in on the cast–MTV has a fun article covering all the drama thus far:

Twilighters were up in arms when they heard the rumor that Vanessa Hudgens and Brenda Song were in contention for the role of Leah Clearwater. They all cried, “No Disney stars … EVER!” Vanessa is still hoping to nab the coveted role as Jacob’s fiesty frenemy, but as of now, it looks like neither will be playing the part (hooray!). Twilighters got to breathe easy for about 2.5 seconds until another actor or actress was rumored to be the next Leah, Jane or Aro.

There were some reports that seemed too nutty to be true. If you thought the whole Hudgens/Song rumor was crazy, just brace yourself. Have you heard any of these?

Lindsay Lohan wants to be in “New Moon”! Hilary Duff is clamoring to be a part of the second installment of the “Twilight” saga! “Lord of the Rings” star Sir Ian McKellan as Aro! “Harry Potter” wizard Alan Rickman as a member of the Volturi!

None of the rumors above can beat the mother of all rumors: Madonna is going to be in “New Moon”!

Then MTV gets into the fake New Moon rumor game–inventing some New Moon casting rumors that are just too ridiculous to be true:

  • Mickey Rourke is replacing Billie Burke as Charlie. Why? Because Mickey Rourke is awesome.
  • Earlier this week the news broke that Governor Schwarzenegger was taking time off to do a film. Could this be a cover for a “New Moon” role? TOTALLY.
  • There will be a new character named Stewart, Edward’s long-lost brother. Stewart will have equally awesome hair and will be played by Zac Efron.
  • Brad Pitt’s old man version of Benjamin Button is going to play Aro.
  • Daniel Radcliffe is going to replace Jackson Rathbone as Jasper. He’ll have his wizard stick handy in case Voldemort pops up to kill Edward.

What do you think–can you think of a funny and believable New Moon rumor? Share in the comments!

taylor lautner rachelle lefevre jacob black bella swan 200902250821 Taylor Lautner Says Its About Time Jacob Got in There MSNBC has a small piece on New Moon, where they focus on the new romance between Jacob Black and Bella Swan in New Moon

“I wanted to get ‘Twilight’ over with, let Edward have his time with Bella and get moving with ‘New Moon,’” Lautner, 17, told Life & Style. “It’s about time Jacob got in there.”

The clean-cut Lautner added 30 pounds to his frame to help him unseat Pattinson and appear worthy of Bella’s affections.

“Taylor’s very serious about forming a connection with Kristen,” Rachelle Lefevre, who plays evil vamp Victoria, told Life & Style. “He’ll make sure his relationship with her is just as intense and has just as much chemistry as Rob’s. I think Rob should watch out!”

Look out, Pattinson: ‘New Moon’ has new hunk

kristen stewart 200902241408 Kristen Stewarts Dad Doesnt Think Twilight is a Great Movie Oh no he did’unt!–

At Sunday night’s 81st Annual Academy Awards, “Twilight’s” vampire teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson was a presenter alongside “Mamma Mia” star Amanda Seyfried.

It left many wondering: where was his “Twilight” co-star, Kristen Stewart?

Access’ Billy Bush got the answer on the red carpet, when he asked Kristen’s father, John Stewart, why she wasn’t presenting with Robert Pattinson.

John responded that Kristen would present at the Oscars, “When it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money.”

Ouch! Maybe Stewart Sr. should have kept his mouth shut?

stephenie meyer 200902241350 Vogue Has a New Article on Stephenie Meyer

Vogue has just put up a a portion of an article on Stephenie Meyer that we’ve been waiting for–and it’s quite interesting, sharing lots of new stuff we haven’t read elsewhere yet–including the gorgeous new pic above–

As much as she has brought glamour to the lives of teenage girls with her Romeo and Juliet-with-blood lust story, the glamour she surrounds herself with is decidedly unglamorous, unless you are a boy, that is—the backyard is an aspiring athlete’s paradise. Inside, the kids’ playroom is actually played in, though Meyer fights her sons on having to buy the absolute latest video game, indicating to them that their heads will not explode if they do not get it. “The idea of enjoying something you already have has been lost,” she says. For her, happiness is being at home or attending a Little League game or the elementary school band concert. She believes this is what success in writing has given her, a kind of luxury that would not be listed as an asset by the IRS. “Luxury for me is getting to take care of your kids,” she says.

Yes, she will show up at a star-studded opening of her own film, mugging with the actors more like a schoolgirl than the creator of this gothic juggernaut, and yes, she clearly loves her fans (mostly girls), but the very thought of her own success can make her a little queasy. Just about a year ago, on the set of Twilight—a film even the studio had modest hopes for but that eventually was a phenomenon, like everything else Meyer has touched since she suddenly appeared on the scene four years ago—she watched dozens of people re-create the cafeteria she had imagined as the lunchtime home of her heroine, Bella, and Bella’s problematic suitor, Edward Cullen, who is older than Bella by a century or so, as well as undead and living with a large family of vampires. “I suddenly realized that all of this was happening because I wrote a story down,” she says, “and it made me a little sick to my stomach.”
