It's called taking a role that will challenge and perhaps enlighten. Only someone who is..oh, I dunno..homophobic would be bothered by his participation in this film. Personally, it makes me more of a fan and my respect for him has grown by leaps and bounds. And before you even go there, I'm a wife and mother. This is about being open minded and keeping the haterism under lock and key. He is an actor and I don't think that playing a gay part is going to affect his chances in a bad way of getting other roles. I mean come on Heath Ledger (rest his soul) played a gay man with Jake Gillenhall (however you spell that) and neither one of them lost good roles. Whilst I agree with you, he did this film the year before he filmed Twilight. People will undoubtedly assume that he did it to show his acting skill in something completely different; in reality, he did it becuase it was a good role that he was simply interested in playing. He had nothing to prove at that time which makes it even more impressive to me. I think it will also show Hollywood that he was capable of doing more without the pressure of Twilight...he did it on his own for his own reasons without needing to prove a thing. Beautiful.

Please don't lump us all in the same category. Believe me, there are thinking, ADULT Twilight fans whose minds are open and intelligent enough to realize that homosexuality isn't some terrible thing and playing a role such as this is something to be admired and respected as well as enjoyed.

Actaully, Jake and Heath did just fine after Broke Back..I'm not sure where you get your info from, but take a look at both careers post those roles. Ledger was nominated posthumously for a freaking Oscar for Batman, one of the biggest movies of the past two years. Hello?

I actually like it. Not to sound sex addict or anything on the way lol But I really respect when a actor or actress steps out of his/her comfort zone. Sort of trying new outrages things. I mean that is one thing we humanity lack, is courage and stepping out. I really hope the movie goes well and he plays the character fair.

It's a movie. He's a actor and he did his job. I think it is a great movie!
