How do you like the new orange color of the official New Moon logo? What does the move from the blue of Twilight to the orange of New Moon tell us? Deadbolt confronts this question from a psychological viewpoint, and they are of the opinion that the color has great power on the mind of the viewer–

Digging deeper into the color scheme of the new logo artwork, the psychology of the color orange has given us more insight into what fans may expect from the tone and the marketing of The Twilight Saga New Moon. Interestingly, from a quick search through the web, the color orange has many layers from a psychological standpoint.

According to a variety of sources, orange is said to be an attention-grabbing color that expresses energy with positive emotional effects that instantly evokes feeling. Orange is also said to be a warm color that represents sexual stimulation, issues of awareness, and new beginnings. Perhaps most interesting about orange, as related to the new artwork of New Moon, comes from a Canadian based company that reveals how those who dislike the color orange may not have confronted or set personal boundaries for themselves, which could also be a sign that some people have trouble “respecting the boundaries of others.” What could it all mean for The Twilight Saga New Moon?

Hey, in the end it’s just a color. It could simply mean the new New Moon color scheme is nothing more than orange. Take from it what you will. At the very least it’s thought provoking.

    Umm. . .I see it as, Twilight (Silver-white) = Edward, Vampire (dead). New Moon (orange-red) = Jacob, Wolf (alive). I think it is as simple as that : )

    I like the orange, In Twilight they used blue title art and that was the general tone of the movie, blue/grey... With New Moon being more about Jacob, Orange is a good color, To Bella Jacob is the Sun so what better color? I think the tone of New Moon will be brighter and more orange!

    I'm thinking they should have combined a couple of colors... fade it from orange to something else, because the majority of the book is about Jacob and Bella, BUT then Edward comes back into the picture, so they should've combined colors to represent the both of them... I think it's cool with whatever they do though, whatever color it is.... I'm still going to see it opening night, so yeah!

    IF it were not for all this conversation of the new image of the NM title, I would not have noticed a difference between twilight's colour choice and this new one. I think everyone is reading to much into title. NEXT, Lets analyze the font choice for the movie titles.



    There is prolly more conversation by fans, and such than the actual production crew who created this image and color choice.

    kinda like fire and ice. where the ice was blue for twilight and edward and red for new moon and jacob....

    yes i agree. i would also like to add that the blue/silver of the twilight logo was more of a neutral color but the orange is more mystical in my opinion. it reminds me of halloween, and since i guess new moon's major mystery is pretty much jacob and his werewolf friends (meaning that will be a major theme of this movie) it fits. plus, the color ice blue of twilight is to me a trusting color whereas the orange is more like a flame or a fire of destruction of some sort

    frankly thats made something fairly simple seem very complicated i think its as simple as
    blue is a cold colour = edward which twilight was centred around
    oragne is a warm colour = jacob which new moon is centred around
