We’ve just been informed that Solomon Trimble will not be returning to the role of Sam in New Moon. Trimble has this to say on his MySpace–

My agent heard from Summit Entertainment today that I will not be reprising the role of Sam in “New Moon.” While I will cherish the experience of being involved in the first film, I am looking forward to many new opportunities in the future and would like to thank everyone for their support.

What a shame. We wish all the best for Trimble, as he’s been such a sport about interacting with fans and being a down-to-earth, approachable actor. The question remains–who has replaced him? Is it Bronson Pelletier? [via Team Solomon]

Celebuzz spotted Robert Pattinson at The Bar in Hollywood, CA on Monday night sipping on champagne with friends. The always respectable RPatz got a ride home from a designated driver, but the exciting news is this-

Hopefully the star got some shut eye, as Pattinson told the group he’s headed to Vancouver, BC today to begin production on New Moon, the sequel to the blockbuster Twilight.

That means that Pattinson should be in Vancouver any day now–if not already–to begin work on New Moon. It’s really starting to feel official now!

Kristen Stewart has a quirky comedy coming out March 13th in limited screenings called The Cake Eaters. The official trailer and website have just been released, so take a look at the trailer to see what you’re in store for.
