The New Moon madness has begun! A lucky fan bumped into the stars of New Moon last night, and they arrived in Vancouver with such secrecy that no paparazzi noticed their arrival . On March 7th an anonymous tip at Cullen Boys Anonymous noted that—

“Yes!!!! I am confirming that Robert Pattinson is in Vancouver. At approximately 7:30 pm March 7, I spotted Robert and Taylor Lautner walking on Robson street at Howe. My nieces spotted them first and I asked them if they were the boys from “Twilight” and they confirmed. Taylor was extremely friendly and shook my nieces hand. Taylor said they were here from LA to shoot new moon. They were accompanied by a heavier set young man. They were calmly walking the streets of Vancouver and were not noticed by many people. Robert wore a hat and Taylor with no disguise. So yes, Robert is definitely in Vancouver.”

Now, with this picture from the Twilight Lexicon to prove that they are in Vancouver, the tip can be confirmed.

UPDATE: Read Mae’s full story about meeting Robert and Taylor at a new blog post at the Lex–“I look up and see my friends walking in front, I see a face of a man I’m all too familiar with. All I could think about was “No way, you’ve GOT to be kidding me!”

200903081850.jpg Amanda Bell over at the Examiner is quickly becoming ones of my favorite writers on all things New Moon. Just recently she hit the nall on the head on the balancing act that Chris Weitz will have to strike in New Moon, and today she has a lovely article summarizing the scenes the fans want in New Moon if it hopes to be a success. I love the way Amanda describes each in such vivid detail. Here are my favorite three of the scenes she describes–(WARNING: SPOILERS!)
  • Break-up – After Jasper’s near attack, Edward becomes estranged from Bella, and it is heart-breaking to her even then. I dare not describe here what the scene entails for fear of sullying it with my own unworthy descriptions. Let’s just say that the conversation between Bella and Edward which leads him to depart, to the fans, needs to be spot on. Gut-wrenching as it was in the book, you say, so it must be in the movie. You also want to see the disappearance of all things Edward, as promised, from Bella’s possession (another factor which rips Bella Swan apart in the story).
  • Motorcycles – Enter Jacob Black and his mechanical skills… not to mention Bella’s motorcycle. Bella, you say, needs to be there while Jacob builds those motorcycles. Bella has a scheme to make Edward’s voice return to her – get in as much danger as possible. Oh, Bella… This is when she gets to know and trust Jacob, though, and Bella is reintroduced to the world, at least in part, and when we get to meet the La Push community. The playfulness and serenity, you say, should be seething from Bella in these scenes. Oh, and we get to see Bella go head first over her motorcycle in a fairly major car crash that she is hardly shaken by (Edward’s voice numbing her senses, of course).
  • Showdown Alice versus Jacob – In the book, Alice and Jasper have a verbal spat over who’s the better species. Should make for a very interesting scene.

Be sure to check out all 15 scenes on the two-page article.
