Here are some pictures of the Edward Cullen messenger bags that Wal-Mart will start carrying this week in their new line of Twilight merchandise. The $15 totes feature quotes from the book such as “What if I’m not the hero?” and “What if I’m the Bad Guy?” along with pictures of Edward Cullen and others in a grungy silkscreen style.

NewMoonMovie.org reader Scotti shared the pics with us, and she had this to say–

Hi I was wandering through Walmart tonight and I found out that Wal-Mart apparently is carrying Twilight messenger bags now.

There are 4 bags to pick from. 2 have just edward on them (one has a quote), one has the whole family on it, and another is Bella and Edward at the prom dancing.

At the press junket for Kristen Stewart’s new film Adventureland, Kristen talked a bit about New Moon to the Dish Rag –

“A lot more introduced, like the world of the werewolves is coming alive. The second movie is much more quaint. Edward (Robert Pattinson) leaves her, which is interesting considering since the first movie is based on their devotion to each other.”

“So to see them cope without each other and to see this character Jacob, who supposed to represent light and warmth and he pulls her out of a rut that’s like seemingly impossible… it’s really tragic. Like, I can’t wait to see Taylor’s (Lautner) face when I tell him, ‘It’s him, it’s always been him,” she says with an audible shiver.

She also commented on Taylor Lautner’s newly buff bod–

And about her new buff Jacob, she admits that those new muscles are pretty hot. “He’s Jack. It’s crazy.”

“He did some serious gym time. He’s an entirely different person physically,” she admits. “It took him so much time and he’s so devoted. He’s amped!”

She also commented on the excitement of working with Dakota Fanning in New Moon to the Dish Rag –

“Yeah. I mean, yes, absolutely. She’s like … you know, I’ve always loved what she’s done and she’s very … like controlled and poised … ummm and then like in terms of her actual work that she makes, it’s like always so different and she’s gonna rock this … I mean she … Talk about a bandit, she’s going to have to lose herself in this because it’s really like – it’s pretty heavy.”

Kristen Stewart addressed the Madonna in New Moon/Eclipse rumor very diplomatically at a press junket for Adventureland today–

“I want everyone to love our movie,” Stewart said today at the Four Seasons junket for her new comedy, “Adventureland.” “I haven’t heard that one. That would be great if she’s into it. Sure.”

Not exactly a ringing endorsement but it’s about as close as she’s gonna get from the understated young actress.

She also says she really wants to sing in the Runaways, her upcoming movie in which she’ll play Joan Jett–

“I want to very badly. But I want to get it right. We are definitely on band practice. There are a lot of performances in the movie.”

Ashley Greene left Vancouver to head to New York City today in order to help out with a good cause– DonateMyDress. GossipGirls have this to say–

Doing her part for charity, Ashley Greene took a break from the set of “New Moon” to host a DonateMyDress.org Prom Dress Drive on Saturday afternoon.

Held at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, Miss Greene is helping to encourage teens around the country to donates their prom and special occasion dresses to girls in need.

Talking about why she got involved with the good cause, Miss Greene described herself as coming from a poor family in Florida, telling, “I started working when I was, like, 13 or 14. My friends were, like, ‘Why are you always working?’”

There’s been a lot of talk about the color of Jacob Black’s car in the book because of the pictures from the potential New Moon set from yesterday. On Stephenie Meyer’s website, this picture is used for Jacob’s car–

Most everyone thought the car is currently black from the pictures we posted yesterday–actually, it’s currently dark green! Here is an alternate view that I didn’t post yesterday that shows off the car’s color more clearly–

Who knows if this will be the final color, though? To my knowledge, there is no point in the books where it actually states the color. Anyone know differently?

UPDATE: Commenter Lisa points out that the car is red in the books. In Eclipse on page 236, it says “About halfway to La Push, we rounded the corner and found Jacob leaning against the side of the red Volkswagen he’d built for himself out of scraps.” I suppose the green VW Rabbit shown could easily be repainted, if it is indeed going to be used in the movie!

In order to promote Wal-Mart’s new push to cash in on the Twilight craze with the upcoming merch selection in Wal-Mart stores coinciding with the Twilight DVD release, Wal-Mart had Robert Pattinson as a guest at their Arkansas headquarters this morning. Reader Mary S. sent in this info–

Rob was at the Wal-Mart share holders meeting at 7:30 this morning. A friend that drives for a local car service said that Rob arived last night on a Wal-Mart Corporate jet, and left this morning after the share holders meeting.
