Check out these pictures of Alex Meraz from his MySpace page. The one on the top right is from today’s New Moon set pictures and the one on the bottom right is from Alex Meraz’s MySpace page. I think, given these pictures, we can say with some certainty that Alex Meraz is one of the members of the wolf pack in New Moon alongside Taylor Lautner. Check out the Mystery Hottie’s resume–he’ll be giving Taylor Lautner a run for his money!

Alex Meraz, of the Purepecha (Tarasco) First Nation of Michoacan, Mexico was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. There he taught at schools and community centers throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area in all aspects of art from mask-making to break dance. As a graduate of the New School for the Arts, Alex has since further developed as a multi-faceted performer and artist. For 12 years Alex studied mixed martial arts, winning numerous tournaments in karate and capoeira, which led him to train with Andy Cheng as a stuntman. Highly sought after in the indigenous dance world, Alex has worked as a lead dancer with renowned choreographers Raoul Trujillo, Rulan Tangen, and Santee Smith, to name a few. Among his many accomplishments, he is also a founding member of Dancing Earth, directed by Rulan Tangen. His notoriety with Dancing Earth earned him the honor of being hand-picked for a troupe selected to represent the U.S. in a performance for the Royal Jordanian family in Amman, Jordan. With a vast range of talents, Alex’s skill in acting and the performing arts has allowed him to work alongside Colin Farrell, Christian Bale, and Director Terrence Malick.

Maybe, instead of after-hours guitar jams, they’re going to start a New Moon fight club with Taylor and Alex–that I would love to see!

MTV has a new interview with Kristen Stewart up, and she touches on quite a bit of New Moon and Eclipse gossip, including the potential new director for Eclipse (she has no idea yet). Maybe most interesting is what she has to say about New Moon–

MTV: Kristen, the web was recently flooded with photos of you in Vancouver, doing pre-production for “New Moon.” What did you see up there that convinced you the sequel will be even better than “Twilight”?

Kristen Stewart: Everything! We’re sort of revamping. The look of the vampires has gotten that much better — now they just look clean and crisp. They’re beautiful, really. We’ve had all of our rehearsals, it’s pretty much done — all of the prep for the script, it’s solid. There’s no more work to be done, whereas a lot of times you’ll be on a movie and you scramble the night before and make sure everything’s done, and then you lose sequence of the whole thing because you don’t shoot in order. We’re set! It feels so good.

Here’s a pic of the new $10 Team Jacob shirt from Wal-Mart. Reader ShannonInWonderland sent the pics in and she has this to say–

I was just at my local Walmart in Connecticut and they had a rack full of Twilight shirts. I bought the Team Jacob shirt, this is what it looks like: It’s actually made of a really nice material and its comfortable to wear (and personally I like it better than the Hot Topic ones haha).

They also had a Team Edward shirt (very similiar to the ones they have at Hot Topic, except the writing is all glittery), one with the “bad vamps” on it, one with the Cullen crest, one with that classic pic of Bella and Edward from the movie poster and then two plain shirts, one black and the other white that just had ‘Twilight’ written across the front

I really like this shirt. It’s gotta a retro-’80s Jaws vibe and I could even see a guy wearing it. I hate shopping at Wal-Mart, but I might have to make an exception for this one!

We’re convinced that the guy seen today in red on the set of New Moon is actor Oliver James. What do you guys think? The two pics on the left are from today, the four on the right are of Oliver James. Oliver James has previously been in What a Girl Wants and Raise Your Voice. His hair, eyebrows, nose and dimpled chin are very similar. I think he looks more like Oliver James than Bronson Pelletier, which is who I originally thought it might be.

UPDATE: We now believe this to be Bronson Pelletier with some certainty despite the similarity in appearance to Oliver James.

Here are some new shots from the set of Jacob Black’s house in Vancouver today as it’s being prepared for the filming of the New Moon movie. Anyone have any idea what the metal things are in the second shot? Are they going to have a gymnastics parallel bars competition (Bring it On 3: Undead)? Will they hang screens from these to block the view from the street during filming? Are they for special effects work? Am I missing something completely obvious?

Join us tonight for another night of Twivia Tuesday! We had a great first week and a bit more hectic second week, but we’re ironing out the bugs and learning along the way on how to make it operate best. The festivites will start at 8pm EST and if you visit the NewMoonMovie.org Chat Room page, you’ll notice there are now two chat rooms–the one on the bottom is to be used exclusively for watching for questions and entering your answers while Twivia is being played, so all the chit-chat in the main room won’t drown out playing the game.

There should be plenty of mods and lots of fun tonight, so be sure to stop by and play–arrive a bit early so you can get accustomed to the rules that are linked from the chat page. There might even be a prize for the winner!

OMG! Here are the first shots of the new wolf pack from New Moon! No casting has been announced for the new wolf pack members yet, but these shots certainly look right: lots of buff Native American-looking manmeat hanging out with Taylor Lautner. Woo-hoo! Is the one guy on top Bronson Pelletier?

These are decisions for Chris Weitz. However yesterday Chris Weitz, in addition to spending time with his wolves, was at a luxury dealership checking out options for the Cullen fleet. All I remember is they like expensive fast cars. Please twihards, please you don’t need to email me with the details. Please know I’m thrilled you have them memorised.

Anyway, back to Taylor and his skin – it’s perfect, non? Seems like a sweet, earnest kid. He deserves a piece of the Twi Pie too! Laura…be nice.

Vanity Fair has an interesting new photoshoot where they create some scenes from West Side Story in honor of its upcoming revival. Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet are in the pic above, but can you find them?

The Sharks and the Jets mark out a piece of urban turf while simultaneously expressing the joy of being young, vigorous, and able to kick ass. As Bernardo, in red, Rodrigo Santoro (Behind the Sun) leads fellow Sharks played by Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder) and Jay Hernandez (Grindhouse, Hostel, Ladder 49). The Jets’ leader, Riff, in yellow, is played by Chris Evans, equally hot-headed in the role of the Torch in the Fantastic Four movies. Rounding out his crew are Cam Gigandet (The O.C., Twilight), Drake Bell (yes, the Drake, of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh), and Robert Pattinson (Edward in Twilight, Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). They are not fully visible but they don’t mind, because they know the maxim, “There are no small parts, only small actors.”
