Ashley Greene spilled some pretty interesting details about New Moon while being interviewed in NYC last weekend during her charity event by 4TNZ. In particular, Ashley talked how much of Robert Pattinson/Edward Cullen we’ll see in the screen adaptation of the Edward-lite book:

Of course they threw Rob in there! He comes in as a flittering image to tell Bella not to do anything reckless and then you have him at the very beginning at school, at the party when he’s saying goodbye to her and the flitterring images and in Italy as well, so they’ll get their fix.

She also admired Taylor Lautner’s droolworthy bod that he’s been working so hard on:

He looks fantastic…I was sitting in the make-up trailer and I looked over and he was taking his shirt off because he was doing a—they were looking for his double—and I was just like, “You’ve got to be joking. You’ve got to be joking.” The girls are going to be very satisfied, I can tell you. It looks like 300!

UPDATE: The official New Moon cast list has been revealed, as well as the first official photo of the New Moon Wolf Pack.

Finally! Here is the cast list for the wolf pack in New Moon:

• Taylor Lautner: Jacob Black
• Chaske Spencer: Sam Uley
• Tyson Houseman: Quil Ateara
• Alex Meraz: Paul
• Kiowa Gordon: Embry Call
• Bronson Pelletier: Jared
• Tinsel Korey: Emily

We don’t have confirmation on the ones in bold yet, so take it as rumor till further confirmed. We confirmed Tyson Houseman and Alex Meraz for sure earlier, and Bronson Pelletier seems to be confirmed.

Tinsel Korey has previous acting experience in film, but Kiowa Gordon seems to be a virtual unknown. From what I can find, he’s an 18 year old high school student that lives in Cave Creek, AZ (where Stephenie Meyer lives, coincidentally). This is great news from Lainey Gossip [thanks, TwiCrack!]

We’re going to try and collect all the info we’re got on the Twilight DVD Release Parties here. If you haven’t heard already, there will be some “secret guests” at certain unannounced Twilight parties, according to the offical Stephenie Meyer website–

On Friday, March 20, 2009, from 10PM until 12 midnight, Summit Home Entertainment and retailers across the country will provide TWILIGHT fans with the chance to celebrate the midnight DVD release of the film that has unanimously been described as a “full-blown pop culture phenomenon.” Participating retailers will stay open late as fans line up to purchase the DVD of the epic romance at midnight parties. While there, contests, autographed merchandise raffles, giveaways, limited edition merchandise including collectable clothing and memorabilia will all be available!

In addition, TWILIGHT actors and filmmakers will be making surprise appearances at select locations throughout the country!

Deadbolt lists ten songs that they feel would be a good fit for the New Moon soundtrack–

• Dido: “Here with Me”
• Imogen Heep: “Speeding Cars”
• Muse: “Time is Running Out” : Muse was featured on the Twilight soundtrack and “Time is Running Out” encompasses the feeling of despair from Bella’s perspective as she struggles to remember how to live, and not just exist with the uncertainty of Edward.
• Evanescence: “Missing”
• Esthero: “Heaven Sent”
• Breaking Benjamin: “So Cold”
• Flyleaf: “All Around me”
• Boys Like Girls: “Thunder”
• Boa: “I’ll Eat You Up”
• Sia: “Breathe Me”: “Breathe Me” has taken on more controversy than anyone could have guessed with fans of Twilight who know there’s a huge push for it to be added to the New Moon soundtrack. Some Twilight lovers are adamant that it remains known for its use on the finale of “Six Feet Under”. Either way, “Breathe Me” is about that all-consuming love that wraps you up and refuses to let go. You live and breathe only for that one other person, and that is what Bella and Edward live for in each other.

Check out this accidental New Moon greeting card being made for the Easter Holiday by Papyrus Cards! Eagled-eyed reader Amanda spotted it in a local Target. My guess is that the flower on the cover of New Moon comes from a stock image that wasn’t licensed exclusively for the New Moon cover, and Papyrus has coincidentally used the same image for one of their products.

Here are a bunch more pictures of various pieces of new Twilight merchandise from Wal-Mart. Besides some new shirt designs, there is a keychain/bag clip and the Twilight board game. Reader Jessica has this to say—

They have set up most of their displays. My store still hadn’t put out their smaller accessories yet. But they had several of the tees and they had a really good selection. I have attached what I did pick up there. They have the bags and what appear to be dog tag necklaces all at those great Walmart prices!

The mind boggling thing about my visit is that they were actually playing the movie!! You read correctly!! They were playing it on their big screen TV that they have in the Twilight area at my Walmart. Now I know that it’s not customary to do that and I was sort of in shock. I thought it might have been a promo piece or something, but it went through all the way to the credits and back to the main menu. There are probably going to be several people pulling up lawn chairs at their stores to watch.
