New Moon Poster BellaSome of the top Twilight Saga fan sites have offered some advice to Chris Weitz for the New Moon movie in the form of a group post at ReelzChannel. Among the advice–

  • Please don’t think of New Moon as just a cash cow! Many of us have imagined this book in our head for years. -TwilightersAnonymous
  • If he gets nothing else right, Chris Weitz had better get the pacing of the movie right. The book is slow — some people think it’s too slow, but most fans agree the slow pace is necessary to show how devastated that Bella Swan becomes. If he tries to speed up the movie too much to appease the taste of people who haven’t read the book, the fans will be in an uproar.” -NewMoonMovie.org
  • Contrary to beliefs that we want Rob in every scene, it is not true. How can we feel the same emotions as Bella if we are still seeing Edward every 15 minutes? It will make the reunion all the sweeter in the end if we are missing Edward just as much as Bella. -Twilight20Somethings
  • Don’t be afraid to bring the emotion into the story that I felt was somewhat lacking in Twilight. This is, first and foremost, a love story riddled with strife and angst. Let those emotions out and the story will flow. -TwilightMoms

Where did you get the fan poster?
  • it's from a very VERY talented user on Lj( Lion_lamb)
she's amazing, and the poster is the best thing for New Moon, i have seen thus far..

i love her and her work :)
  • Chris10
The other one on that link is pretty damn cool too!
  • Elloo
Great advice! That's EXACTLY what I want to see in New Moon! Hope he knows how important this movie is to us fans!

Great advice! That's EXACTLY what I want to see in New Moon. I hope Chris knows how important this movie is to us fans!
  • Helen
I really hope they listen to our (the fans) advice. I'm so afraid they will ruin the whole film by not sticking to the book or trying to squeeze Robert inn every five minute. Please do it right! As Elloo said, this movie is important to us fans!
  • i deff think that in new moon they have too show the emotion between all the people in the movie like for bella and jacob and edward ........and nice poster i really like it
  • Daisy
I disagree! I DO want to see more of Edward. I want to see him suffering as well. I thought the part of the book with Bella and Jacob was much too long. I do not want to sit through two hours of Bella and Jacob and only 20 minutes of Edward. I'll only see the movie once if that happens. I suggest we all let Chris alone and let him figure it out on his own. I think he gets it that we all love the book!
  • dasois
Does ReelzChannel have a way of forwarding all this to Weitz? This info. should be invaluable to him!
  • Destined
Daisy, if Stephanie wanted him in it like that she would have wrote it differently. Do not forget that he left for 6 months! That has to be drawn out in the movie to a degree. I better NOT see no more Rob than it have to be. I want to see Jacob, Victoria, Bella's recklessness, the pack, the Volturi. These things are essential to New Moon. That's what make the book so intriguing because Edward does leave and Jacob character evolves along with the pack. So, get over it! Rob will have his big dramatic appearance at the end. You already know he comes back, so relax and get a grip. If they did give him more screen time, that would be a slap in Stephanie's face as well as the fans who want loyalty to the book.
  • Helen
    Well said! and totally true!
  • stephanie29
Your right. We all love Edward, but I want to watch a movie based on the book, not a bunch of teenage girls obsession for Robert Pattinson. It was well said--that his absence from the movie will make his return more emotional for not only Bella but all us watching. I truely hope they stay closer to the book than Twilight did and not let directors and screenwriters (rewrite) fix something that wasn't broken. I didn't think it was long and drawn out---it was excuriating to read page after page with out Edward in it---but hey, we were right there with Bella suffering and missing Edward. Please GOD get this movie right--the script should be based soley on the book and not made to please movie fans only. Remember Mr. Director this movie is being made because us fans made it a New York Times best seller---it us you should catering to. More Jacob-Less Edward, thats how it's written--sorry everyone but Edwards absence is important to the rest of the saga as well, because they both learn how hard it is to live without the other, so...don't ruin the rest of the movies because serveral people can't go with out seeing Robert Pattinson. Hopefully Stephenie will finish Midnight Sun and that can be made a movie so we can all get our Edward fill.......(yes I realize thats not likely but a girl can dream!)
  • A twilight Fan
I think Chris will do a great job. They are professionals, they have the experience and they know what they are doing, i wouldn't worry that it won't be great! They will find the balance needed for this movie.
  • Wow, I didn't think New Moon was a slow book at all. If anything, Breaking Dawn is slow. New Moon is action packed. Motorcycle rides, chases through the woods, meadow encounters, cliff diving, running against time in Italy... Slow? I don't think so. Maybe it's just me. But I had an adrenaline rush while reading the book.
  • Michelle
but doesn't rob get screen time? I could have sworn i read somewhere that when Bella is hearing his voice they will do cut scenes to rob....so technically he is getting more screen time. It will even out somehow..lol
  • IndiesR
I agree with all, expecially the "Twilight Moms", they nailed it! Listen up Chris! :)
  • Destined
I agree Jess, New Moon is exactly the type of book needed to follow Twilight, for it to be the exact opposite of Twilight. And people need not forget this, unfortunately, it is written from Bella's POV. So everything is Edward, which gets really annoying. The stories must transition to different plots and characters to keep it moving. So I'm glad other characters get some shine because they are interesting and all have they own stories as well.
  • nicoLe2
    there's twilight moms?
    thats wierd
  • CullenFan
Not weird at all--I'm a twilight mom too!
  • nataniasmom
Hey, I'm a mom and I love Twilight, why is that weird??
  • Becky
Hey I'm a mother and a wife and i'm obsessed!
don't worry Nataniasmom! there are plenty of us out there!
  • stephanie29
WIfe and mother too! My girls are both toddlers so I didn't pick up the obsession from them--however my 9year old son is begging to read it because I have so many times. I haven't let him, but yes--there are Twilight moms. I am 30---and I know many women my age that LOVE the books, oh and MY mom also loves it---so there are also Twilight grandmas too! hahaha
  • Nataniasmom
LOL, yea, my daughter is 3, so I got into all on my own.
I wouldn't let her read it even if she was 13 though, I am one of those who believe that it should be for 16 and up, at least.
Not because I think there is too much sex or violence, there is not, but because I think that no one who is 13 or 14 can ever trully understand that level of emotion and love (even thought there are kids out there who argue this with me).
I'm 29 and I got my husband and my mom to read all the books, lol, they both love them too ::)
  • stephanie29
Oh my god! My husband is totally Team Jacob--or thats how I make fun of him! He has uploaded the audio books to his ipod----he realy likes them--not to the point of obsession I have-but he was the one standing in the lines at Walmart for me at the idnight release. He hates me for that by the way!
  • Nataniasmom
    moms unite :D
  • Rosie
New Moon was actually my favourite book of the whole series.
it had a lot of emotion and suspense, and was not even a little slow.
i definitely want to cry from the new moon movie.
it has to be full of emotion, or i think it's gonna be bad.
i love the poster , btw.
    (:
  • Rosie
The New Moon book is my favourite
book of the series . It was full of suspense and emotion.
I hope Chris puts a lot emotion in the movie so much i would want
to cry at the end of the movie. and yes, the slow pace does show
how depressed Bella is in the movie.
love the poster , btw. (:
  • KINALuvzWolves
These fan posters are out of control! I always get excited thinking they're official!
  • MireilleMasen
I think Chris will do a good job on New Moon and the advice up there is really good. Also yeah that poster is awesome. I searched for some posters of New Moon and saw some pretty incredibe posters made by fans but they're all deleted now but they were good like the one up there.
  • ozflipz
In Stephenie Meyer website posted what Chris Weitz say... He knows how important the books are to the fans. I think he'll do a great job doing New Moon =)
  • nomesters
Someone comfort me and tell me it will be ok.... we have heard by now that Robert fans will get their fix, from what Ashley said - he is obviously in a lot more of the movie then would be expected in a strict book to screen interpretation. I am worried that the flittering images of him WILL ruin the emotion when we see him again. Please, someone tell me Chris will do an amazing job and fix the mess of the emotional intensity (or lack thereof) that Catherine left us with. (Please don't think I hate what Catherine did, because I don't, I was just disappointed that the connection between Edward and Bella was not created in the way I wanted, and I feel like Chris now has a lot on his plate.) Please, someone explain to me that Chris is amazing and can do this - no joke, I really need this.
  • WetDishRag (AKA deedee81)
I truely believe that Chris is going to do a fantastic job with the film. I have a love/hate relationship with the Twilight Film. Things that where there shouldnt have been and some off the things that were said in the film where just beyond stupid-"spider monkey" "monkey man" "nice Kitty" WTF?????
I think a major part off Twilight was butchered and I think if I had the choice for it to be re made I would. From what I have seen so far the changes have been brilliant, the vampires "look" more realistic instead off looking like they have been bathed in white powder ! And it seems like Chris is staying very true to the book.
The only thing I will say is that I DO NOT want Edward when he leaves, I want to "hear" him, its wrong if we see him cos that is not how Bella seen it in the book, she only heard his voice when doing dangerous things and only seen the image off him when she was drowning. If we see him it will take off the passion we feel for the reunion at the end.
I do feel that this is going to completely overshadow Twilight, so lets all breathe deep breaths and look forward to a fantastic film. I will gladly comfort you through the process LMAO
  • nomesters
Yes, I agree, those lines were stupid. I heard the commentary from Catherine about the spider monkey line. She said that during the tree climbing scene she felt like there needed to be dialogue so she wrote out a bunch of lines and had Robert pick one, and he picked that one. Well, here is advice to you Catherine. Instead of making up ridiculous lines about monkeys and spiders, how about you hmm.... use lines already in the book? It's not as if the dialogue between Bella and Edward was lacking in the book. Now THAT is what my biggest problem with the movie was - the dialogue. I feel like now, no matter what amazing job Chris does with New Moon, the relationship between Bella and Edward will not be as developed as it should have been because it wasn't developed in the first film.
Yes, there were some things I Liked about the first movie. But so much of the story was butchered, and I, like you, would have it redone if I had the choice.
I think we already know that we will be seeing Edward instead of only hearing him, from what Ashley said about flittering images. The more I think about it, the more I guess it makes sense to have the faded image of him - hopefully it will be clear that Bella can't (forces herself not to) see him, while the viewers can.
    Yes, deedee81, comfort me!!!
  • Lalala. (:
I think that New Moon will be very enjoyable. It will be hard not seeing Edward every 5 minutes but definately worth it for the following movies. Im hoping Chrsi sticks to the book as much as possible so the true fans will not be disappointed. Im really counting on this to be better then twilight.

Not to hate on Catherine or anything, but i was very disappointed.
Im hoping Chris will stick to the book more.
  • Great. I actually have a lot of confidence in Chris Weitz. .
and i think he will do a great job, because he knows how
important the books are to the fans. i can't wait to see the official
New Moon posters. New Moon isn't my favorite book b.c Edward leaves.lol
I will probably cry during the New Moon movie.
    im so excited :)
  • M
I'm a "Twi Aunt" I guess you could say. I completely agree the movie should be like the book. I first saw the movie, I didn't know about the books. Then my niece wanted to see it. I took her, and then I found out about all this. I read all the books, more than a few times. I love them.
The movie was disappointing the way they made it. I agree with all the Twi Moms, and people who are fans of the book. So much was left out of the movie that should of been there.
I hope Chris really makes this next one the way we want it.
Destined and Stephanie29 you couldn't say it any better.
  • TheLionFellIn<3W/Ceci-ROBECI
Oh gosh I agree w/ absolutely ALL of those, especially w/ yours NMM!! They have to portray the movement of the book... I don't care if other ppl who haven't read the book want a fast paced movie, those of us who have read the books know the it's slow paced for a reason and it's vitally important that they do it--not exactly as the book because we know that's hardly possible--close enough 2 the book okay?? haha... ok I'll shut up now!!
  • clearwaterdaughter
    love that poster!
  • Mai
i totally agree with all the comments posted. especially with TwilightersAnonymous!!! Chris Weitz shouldn't use New Moon as a big production that is trying to grab money. he should stick to the book and satisfy the FANS. =]
  • Daisy
    Hey Destined and Helen!

Stephenie did write more about Rob in New Moon but it was removed or didn't make it into the book. Go to her website, click on New Moon and read the outtakes and extras!!

Not everyone is Team Jacob and I stand by my desire to not make it a two hour movie about Jacob and Bella! I'm sure Chris Weitz will do the right thing!
  • stephanie29
I may only be speaking for my self here--but just because we don't want Edward in the movies more than he SHOULD be doesn't mean we are Team Jacob. Thats actually offensive, to be honest, to belittle our point of view and chop it up to hormones. I am Team New Moon-i guess you would say, I loved the book, period. I don't want it changed and that has absolutely nothing to do with stupid teenage crushes. I don't pick Teams---I think its important to get Bellas connection with Jacob in this movie( for the rest of the movies sake), plus her loss and heart break and "who she can't live without" for Edward. If Edwards in this movie more than need be--I fill those issues will be overshadowed. Period.
  • sixrgirl
Ok guys. here is the thing I love movies and I love books but they are two different entities. I absolutely loved the book series, but I appreciated seeing the interp on screen. I went in with an open mind to see Twilight and enjoyed it knowing how much I loved the book. I don't want to see New Moon page for page on the movie screen. Because it was perfect as a book. What I want to see is New Moon the movie, with the heart and soul of the book but the fun and pace of a good movie that stands on it's own. If you go in with too many expectations you WILL be disappointed.
  • midnight
waaaah... its sad to know there wont be as much time with rob in the next film but i agree, its a sacrifice we will have to make. Its essential that the audience feels his absence!! It will manifest the depressed, manic, suicidal tone that the movie needs!

that said, rob better do a hell of a good job in the reemergence scene.. and frankly although i am really in love with him, i will have to cringe and say he is not the best actors out there. he is actually very very mediocre. Some of the facial expressions he did in twilight just really looked like he was trying to hard. yep. rob kinda did a terrible job acting. but he just looked so darn fine!! i think that made up for his terrible acting.

oh yea that movie poster is just amazing!!! the best one i have seen yet! i love the tagline.
  • yeah it is if it only had some one drowning herr get rid of edward all to gthere
  • foreverTWInerd
I love reading the TWILIGHT MOM comments. I am only 20 and not a mother, but sometimes when I see all the 14 and younger girls getting into these books I feel rediculous. But seeing this, I believe what someone above said that the people reading it should be 16 and older. Not because of the cussing violence sex and all that, but just because they probably havent been dumped (seriously) or felt that real connection you feel with someone. I loved New Moon. I would love to have a lil more Edward then the book (meaning just showing us some of his pain so that the movie isnt one sided) and or goodness sakes (was gonna say God for extra emphasis but didnt want to offend) Mr. Weitz if ever you read this PLEASE HAVE THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS SAY I LOVE YOU AT ONE TIME. Sorry that just bugged me in twilight. And PLEASE do not add crazy one-liners that make 0 sense at the time. (Twilight...diner...santa once when you were little scene...im just saying what was the point).
  • Mr. Weitz,
Just follow the book. Show me a well rounded story, and allow me to truly feel the emotions again. Do not skim over the growth of Jacob's character. Do not screw up my pack. For the love of Carlisle, do not allow the phasing to look demure and silly (aka Blood & Chocolate). Do NOT downplay Jacob's pain when Bella chooses Edward. Jake's pain will play heavily into Eclipse. New Moon is my favorite book of the saga because of the emotion. I have never read a book that made me cry so hard for ALL characters. Until Book 2 of Breaking Dawn.
Just do not screw it up.
    Love,
    Me...
PS - I own pitchforks and flame torches...
PSS- I know how to use them :-)
PSSS - And so do my friends.
On another note. I agree that the more life experience the reader has, then the easier it is to understand Bella's loss, and the emotion that pulsates throughout the saga. And thank you for putting up with my piss poor attempt at humor :-D
  • we all do (except dolly) we'll hunt you down
  • ViktóriafromHungary
They're right. I want a slow, but exciting movie wich is emotionfull and more Jacob less Edward. This is the book. For me.
  • you rock she is right to all of you edward fans....(dolly) less edward .more jacob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
  • Dolly
Oh please don't make a slow movie, Mr. Weitz! Please have more Edward because the book was waaaaay too long and boring with Jacob and Bella! You can still have it full of emotion with more Edward in it! All the team jacob people can re-read the book if they want more jacob. The majority of people on the planet are only interested in Edward and they won't see the movie more than once if he's only in it for a few minutes...you know I'm right!!!!!!!!!
  • Andre
Dolly, A good writer makes you feel what the character feels. Throughout New Moon Bella pines for Edward and is desperate to see him again. If you thought the book was long because it wasn't until the end that you got to see Edward back in the story, then it only means that Stephenie did her job well, not that the book was boring.
  • ALL YOU FRECKIN edward fans GET OVER YOUR SELFS HE'S NEVER EVER GOING TO FALLIN LUV WITH U he stinks
  • virgogirl
All I want is for them to stick to the book as close as possible and don't be afraid of it being 3 hours. You cannot possibly fit all of the story that is crucial to New Moon in 2 hours. Twilight should have been longer too. The pace was set too fast.
  • Mrs Cullen
if Chris ruins new moon i will be sooooooooooo ANNOYED this is my fave but least fave because it is so sad i cry every time i read it i cant wait for new moon and i am so excited
  • edward is stupied just in case you didn't get that let me spell it out for you E-D-W-A-R-D--I-S--S-T-U-P-I-E-D-!
  • JEN
LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE THE ONE THAT IS S-T-U-P-I-D TEAM JAKE, LEARN HOW TO SPELL
  • Brooke
I think the most important thing about the movie New Moon is that you can't miss the fact that Jacob is present in the whole movie and is the most important. Yes there are fans that love Rob, but there are also fans who are totally obsessed and love Taylor. Don't put edward in the movie more inless it says so in the book. Twilight was all about Edward and New Moon is about Jacob. Please don't put Rob in the movie more. It will just ruin it because it won't follow the book !
  • i think the best thing to do it get rid of robet .yes I HATE ROBET! and to make the wovles look like wolves and not jumbo hipos yes i've seen a glimpse at them there werid if they don't fix them then the movie is not going to be liked &GET RID OF BELLA! or mabye they should skip new moon all to gether and just do jaspers story rated PG13 please

    EDWERIDO IS A LOSER
    TEAM JACOB&TEAMJASPER
  • yo everybody do you dislike rob ? then go to vampire-baseball.blogspot.com we dis rob, talk about jasper and dis rob and everyone but jasper and jacob jasper & rilley luv to start fights so say something ,vote, and DIS ROB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay

    Jasper &Rilley
  • yo foreverTWInerd edwerido sucks its good they don't have edward in it mostof the books
because theyed all be bella dose something dumb and edward has to save her but in new moon bella dose something dumb and has to go save edward .....(if i was alice i would've said sucks to be edward and walked away)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    jasper rox
  • hey Dolly
your too longgggggggggg and boringgggggggggggggggg and besides why are you good mouthing edward edward is cheseey, stupied, boring, ugly, boring, gross, demended, did i mencan CHESEEY? they amount of people who have liked edward has gone down hill..fast .I LIKE JACOB BECAUSE HE DOSN'T WANT TO EAT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • twilight12
i have read the twilight series more than 10 times in a row and i am only 12. i like edward better, but jacob is also cool. i am looking forward to the new movie i just hope that they dont rate it R. because i really want 2 see this.i also hope that they dont rate Eclipse or Breaking Dawn, R. i hope that they get the whole phasing from werewolf to human and vise versa correct/no nudity please. i agree with all the points in the artical. and hope that edward(rob) and bella(kristen) say the exact lines from when edward leaves. that part has always touched me and i cry every time i read it.
  • RedMahogany
This is the book that really shows Jacob's character and the development of Bella and Jacob's relationship so I hope they show that in the movie.

This is not Bella and Edward's story, it's Bella and Jacob's story.
