Billy Burke Wants Dakota Fanning in New Moon

Billy Burke New Moon People has revealed that Billy Burke, who plays father to Bella in Twilight, is keen on working with Dakota Fanning in New Moon, if she indeed does get the part. While it’s still unconfirmed, it seems that by now half the cast of New Moon has given Fanning the thumbs up.

“I would love to have Dakota Fanning in the movie,” Burke, who plays the character of Charlie Swan in the film, told PEOPLE at the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational on Saturday.

“She’s one of the most talented young actors that’s come around in ages.”

Burke also has kind words for his screen daughter, Kristen Stewart–

“We get along in this weird ethereal way that I haven’t gotten along with any costar before,” Burke said of Stewart. “She brings something that makes me want to go to work.”

While I like Dakota and can see her as Jane, I do agree that maybe a "B-list"/aspiring actress should be used. I wonder who they'll get for Alex if they do use her as Jane? Should be interesting to see who is cast for the parts and IF they do stay for the remainder of the movies.

They should really give it to a young aspiring actress. Coming from someone who has a niece that's an actress hopeful many are trying to break into the acting business; it's hard. I find it weird that they would give this small role to an already well established actress like Dakota all Jane does is stare down & say like one line hugh there's a lot of fresh faces that fit Jane.
Dakota is a hogger if she gets this role--shame.

i like dakota as jane i think she would be good but thats just my opion and even if she is picked then we will only see her for like what 10 min in new moon 10 min again in eclispe and like 8 min in BD or longer she didnt really talk in BD soooo i just think shes a good actress and should get the role for jane but again this is just my opion

Being he's close to Kristin, I wonder if he can get her to quit that incessant blinking/stuttering thing she does. It's quite annoying.

You know there might be some die hard fans out there who are going to hate me for saying this, but I-yes me-personally think that Dakota Fanning will make a brilliant "Jane" she's just how I would picture her to be in the book.

I agree with both opinions; It would be nice if an unknown got it, but then again it's a small role so at least she won't be taking over the film.

What I really want is for them to just tell us who've they cast for the movie already. It's getting ridiculous.
