Canadian Mounties Keep Fans Away from New Moon Set

new moon police mounties tofino Radar Online has a brief article about the Canadian Mounties protecting the New Moon set to keep away prying eyes of adoring fans. One of them notes–

“It was an unusual mission but our remit was to keep the fans off the set,” Constable Baillant told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Everything went well on the first day but then a group of teenage girls got a little too close when the filming moved to the Long Beach area of the island.”

“They were totally miffed with us when we told them that they could not get any closer, however, their spirits lifted when Kristin Stewart came over to pose for a few photographs with them,” he recalled. “It was raining really hard the whole time but the producers loved that because it helped to make their scenes much more gloomy and atmospheric too. This is a beautiful part of the world but when it gets cold and wet even a vampire would get the chills.”

I doubt Rob was there. He's not in those scenes at the beach. They're doing the cliff dive sequence and scenes with the wolf pack.

Those girls said they saw Taylor and Kristen coming up the path wet, and wrapped in towels.

Hehe yea keep the fans away b/c I think it would kinda be hard to concentrate don't you guys think? Plus, I think we'll be more pleasantly surprised once we get to see the movie =]

I can't blame fans for wanting to see the cast but I do think it is ridiculous that they need "protection" from them. Can't we let them film in peace? We want the best film possible, do you guys agree? So I guess, if "Canadian Mounties" need to keep fans away from the set in order for that to happen, then so be it. I was actually happy when I heard the sets were being guarded by police. It means less distractions for the people at work on the film, not to mention more surprise for us when any footage of the movie actually comes out. (Believe me, I love New Moon news just as much as any obsessed Twilight fan, but it will make it more exciting if we don't know what the footage will really look like.)

fans should really cool off if not then the movie will not be done in time for the end of the year. I am a fan as well but I wouldn't go out of my way to prolong filming. Besides think of all the money that could be going to more important stuff in the film than on security all around because fans are stalking the sets while filming.

I thought it was really classy for Kristen Stewart to go over to the fans and sign autographs and stuff. With all the bad rap she got for apparently not understanding twilight fans and why they are so crazy, she needed a press article on this side of her.

I think she truly understands what fans feel.

Rob's protector? Where do I sign up? LOL =) I'll leave my work and hubby to be his bodyguard, assistant, body massager, cook, cleaning lady, etc...whatever he needs me doing...I'll do it with a smile LOL...joke!

funny, its nice to hear both sides of the story , all we need to hear now is kristens view on what happend , lol, i thought taylor was there as well? and thats funny about the name 'mounties'lol.
i guess there not that much crime going on in the area if they have time to stand there all day! why dont they just get security?

They should be doing everything they can to keep them away, I can only say if it was me trying to do a scene and a bunch off fans where there, screaming or what ever I would get really cheesed off! Just me though.

I'm sure the cast will be glad to get the films done and over with, only because off the terrible weather conditions that they have to work in. Lucky enough that Robert doesn't this time, he's probably sitting in his nice hotel room with the heating up full blast, thinking, haha your out there freezing your nads off and I'm all warm and cosy LMAO
