Fan Video for New Moon Competition that Missed Deadline

200903270925.jpgLoyal NMM.org reader CyCyn, who’s been around since the 2nd post, made a video for the “Be a part of New Moon” contest, but her entry was just a few minutes too late to be eligible. Since it won’t be used in the contest–and videos that are entered into the contest can’t be posted anywhere else, I think this is one of the few entries we’ll actually end up seeing. I think she did a really amazing job! She says–

As you may well know, last week the “Be a part of New Moon” contest came to an end. Like any other fan, I would have given the world to be a part of the series and gave it my all. I put a lot of sleepless nights into filming, timing and editing my entry. I finished just in time but the deadline came to an end a little earlier than announced and I was instantly out of the competition.

    It good, but the video would've been disqualified anyways.
    1) Your not suppose to have an animal in the video.
    2) Your not suppose to have other people in the video.

    So...yeah, but this video is really well done!

    the video was really good. i commend you because you had a lot of good special effects.. but you cant have animals and you cant have more than one person in the video, so despite the deadline, you still wouldn't have be eligible.. if the rest of the video entries are this good, i'm screwed. lol

    that was in the rules, you can't put clips together like that. I thought! somebody clarify please!

    you can edit.
    just as long as your follow the rules, because as someone earlier pointed out, this video would have been disqualified.
    No animals.
    No other being in video, only the person entering.
    no music or sound unless originally created.
    etc.

    But you can edit it.

    Plus, I don't really get how she explain why 'she should be chosen to win the contest'? Isn't that the whole point for the contest?

    Other then that, this video is really good. It basically sums up New Moon in 1 minute, which I didn't think was possible.

    It was interesting as a summary of NM, but she did break the rules, so she wouldn't have won. Before you enter ANY contest, you should always read the rules. . .

    P.S. That dog is adorable!

    I had no idea about the dog even though I was sure I read the guidelines completely. And the extra people, well I thought that it was ok since you can't really see their faces. Oh well. At this point, all I want is for it to be seen. I put a lot of love into this, thanks madcrazy for appreciating my effort.

    kind of off topic question but in regard to the contest- the rules said you could put music/pictures/video originally created, in the public domain, or something that relates to the Picture...so did that mean you could have put the theme song to Twilight in there...or any carter burtwell music that was specifically composed for the picture? i would think so, right? just curious.

    I was gonna send mine but it was about a drawing I did whichw as random and not really amazing so yea but yours was well done and good fx even if it did not meet the requirements it was still awesome I applaud your efforts.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
