I think Jamie Campbell Bower did a truly superb job as Caius! I had my doubts as a fellow Twi-hard but he came out tops. He, in my humble opinion, is brilliant! Anyway well done Jamie and I simply cannot wait to see you play Gellert Grindleward in Harry Potts in July! X

I always saw them as older maybe not grandpas but atleast Carlisle's age. Its okay to put older people in the movie they dont all have to be or look YA. This guy looks like a kid and i feel there sterotyping all the characters by trying to keep them in a YA age group. Thankfully the others are set or we may have seen a 13 year old play Carlisle :/

i can understand when people say that they want the volturi leaders to be older, especially to look older than edward but personally i don't think i'd wanna be looking at really old men either. I noticed a few people have put anthony hopkins as a choice and i agree he is a good actor but he's like 70 in real life. i know they'll have make up and stuff but still, i think he's a bit too old. i think people in their mid/late twenties or very early thirties would be ok, i think jamie will do a good job anyway. sorry if ive offended anyone, it's just my opinion. When i was reading the book i ws pretty shure he was old, didn't he like have white hair? I pictured Caius, Aro, and Marcus as being old, not young, not just because they were like 3,000 years old but because of the way Stephinie discribed them. I pictured old men, like somewhere between 60 and 80 years old!!

I totally imagined Caius like this. Ok, Jamie's face is a bit weird, too childish and yes I thought at Caius as a more older, mature looking man but I think Jamie'll do well. I'm pretty sure they'll add make-up and visual effects, but his hair and expression is all perfect in my opinion. Also Caius doesn't have a big role in New Moon. I expect Aro to be older and more mature and I imagined Marcus as a serious, grumpy man. I'm very curious who will play Aro...they better make a good choice.

I really didn't imagine Caius nor Aro that young. Maybe Marcus, but not them. I don't know, I've imagined them like 40 years old guys, a little bit fat and bald haha. They should seriously add some older actors here. It makes sense. An older actor could be much more menacing and hold their weight next to Dr. Cullen. It would be more believable to have the Volturi around the same age as Dr. Cullen. I never imagined a young Caius. It destroys the image and menace of the character.

I completely agree with BB... I always thought that the Volturi were at least the same age a Carlisle if not older. I just can't see Carlisle living with them (the Volturi) for the period of time he did in the book especially with Cauis having a baby face like Jamie's. I don't know I hope they don't screw up casting Aro.

Why was everyone imagining an older guy? It never stated in the book that they were old. They must be around carlisles age, mid twenties or early thirties. He not exactly what I imagined look wise. But I do remember him from sweeny todd, he stood out, even with his somewhat smaller role. I also like his look, it's almost model like, he's cute IMO.

I didn't picture caius being this young Stephenie describes him as "white-haired" (Pg 477, New Moon) but I think he could do a good job. Not what I had expected though but I am willing to give him a chance.

The average life expectancy 3000 years ago was only 30 so, in theory, the 3 "ancient" volturi should all be under 30 years of age when they were frozen. Picking young actors to play the 3 leaders would be an intelligent move by the casting directors. The onus is then on these actors to be able to act as older then they actually look, I guess. I don't know this actor and how talented he is though but look forward to seeing this in November.

I think he'll be great. I know everyone keeps saying "I didn't imagine the volturi being so young" but remember, they are vampires! The books say they are thousands of years old but never does it mention at what age they were turned into vamps! :)

The thing with the Volturi is that they can look super young, but they must have a certain gravitas and maturity to them, because they are over 3000 years old. And Caius is very serious and militaristic in his actions. I am not sure this Jamie Campbell can pull that off with such a babyface.

First, people you cannot judge him based on how he looks in pictures we see now. Can you imagine how much make up he'll go under? Looking at Ashley Greene's press photos, I do not think she looks like Alice... but then she gets in costume and make up, and WOW. Same for the guy who plays Emmett (OMG terrible Twilight moment... and I do not feel like looking up his name, hah)

Secondly, like someone else said, i'm more concerned with them nailing Aro.

well I'm sure that they would not have casted a young person if stephenie meyer had a few saying on twilight on character look then I would imagine that she would in new moon too so I think that a young cast for the volturi is not so bad, what is more horrible in a way than for someone so old in vampire years and that its so evil that destroying its brethen was so easy just for power to be in-cased in the body of a child.

Personally my choice was Jonathan Rhys-Meyer. As I read, that is who I imagined from New Moon on through BD. However, I think Jamie could pull it off. If you put the Caius make up on him then it will work. Just imagine him with the white hair, onion like skin, and cloudy red eyes. Scares the hale out of me!
