200903052055.jpg Kristen Stewart gave a brief interview to EW during press for her new indie flick The Cake Eaters, where she plays a girl with the disease Friedreich’s Ataxia. Concerning New Moon, she had this to say–

“It’s a lot different, also, from the first,” she adds. “It’s a very different story. A lot happens: [Bella] doesn’t have [Edward] anymore, and she’s also in a place where she has to step up and kind of become more mature, and to see her deal with life without him is going to be interesting. … It’s all very epic and convoluted.”

Kristen is an amazing actress. She went from child star to a real actress in "Speak". she has depth and is extremely sensitive. she will grow along with the story as will the other characters. she has never been anything but grateful for this overwhelming opprotunity. I'm sure none of the cators could have forseen how thier lives would change and no one knows how they would have acted in her place. She's doing a wonderful job and deserves praise.

She grew up around the business not "fame". Her parents worked in the business but never reached a level of fame like this. Just because making movies is the culture she grew up in doesn't mean she ever experienced the level of fame that came with the role of Bella. She was been acting for years but it is only now that she as the paparazzi & fans following her. I'd imagine that's a bit of culture-shock. Plus, there are plenty of amazing actors who don't deal with the fame aspect well, it's just part of their personality. I think everyone needs to cut this poor girl some slack, she's only human.

I think people should stop analyzing every word she uses. I think "convoluted" can be used for New Moon...why not?
And in case people don't know what it means:
    -complicated; intricately involved or complex

and New Moon is all that!

I think I am on a roll with these comments.....but for how Bella thinks of Jacob, I think they should use Paramore's song Decoy. It fits with how Bella thinks of how she doesn't really deserve Jacob. (The lyrics fit, but the mood is a little too angry)

nomesters...totally agree with you!!! =D ok i got to admit the first time i saw her Nylon Interview...i overacted...i know that she is in MAJOR pressure around her...and she is just being honest...i think that EVERYONE who is not used to all this fame like Kristen would react like that. So i totally take back every single negative thing i said about her...this interview and rereading and seeing her Nylon Intverview i come to understand where she is coming from...she is under pressure...cuz common she knows there is HUGE expectations for New Moon...and it seems she is very AWARE of it!! =D

The thing is though, Kristen grew up around this. The whole "fame" shouldn't shock her. She's been acting for a while and I'm pretty sure her parents are in the business. She's under a lot of pressure, sure, but so is everyone else and they seem to be more supportive of the movie then she is... I honestly think it's her dad who's influencing this.

I mean, you have a point, but just because you grow up around fame doesn't mean you are used to it when it really hits you full on. I doubt she would continue on with this if she didn't support it. To me, she shows her support by really seeming like she understands the characters in a deep way.
  • nomesters
I admit that too. When I read what was posted of that Nylon interview, it made me worry a little bit. But I just think what she meant is that she feels a lot of presure and that unlike some actors, the "fame" part of it is not too enjoyable.
Also, a side note -I think with her, a lot of what she says is a lot of confusing, like she seems to start sentences a lot and then go halfway through them and then never finish the thought, which shows she is sort of a nervous, fidgety person, which she has admitted.
  • natalie_teamrobsten
OME! you totally think like I do! krazy! lol...but yeah she really never finishes her sentences...and yup that means she is nervous...im just crossing my fingers that she will do a good job at new moon, eclipse, and breaking dawn...i wish her the best =D

wow, how was she being ungrateful? please explain that to me, she sounds extremely grateful for what twilight has given her, and it is obvious she understands the story well.
  • josh
I've always felt the term 'convoluted' had negative connotations. Even if that's not the case, I don't think its an appropriate word to use for New Moon. Epic, sure... but it's not extremely complicated or difficult to follow. I think Kristen Stewart just likes to use big words.
  • Allie
    i agree with that.
it always seems like she words things incorrectly just because she likes to use ones that make her seem smarter.
  • nomesters
I was worried people would assume that about the word "convoluted". It does not necessarily have a negative connotation. I am not saying you guys are wrong, but I definitely think she is smart enough not to make a comment on an interview like this and insult New Moon. By convoluted she probably meant what the word means, which is twisted, hard to follow, complicated. New Moon was like that for me.
But yes, I agree with you guys - the word does sometimes have negative connotations, and she does use big words a lot. (But that doesn't mean she doesn't know what they mean).
  • nyka
She is not grateful! Every time she talks it's like 'it's twilight that is lucky to have me, not me to have twilight'. Well, I will be very amused to see if she'll ruin the second one as she did with the first!
  • Lainaaa
I agree. When she says Bella needs to step up, she should be thinking of herself. There better be some emotion this time or else I think it will be up to Taylor and Rob to save the movie.
  • nomesters
I also agree with her that New moon is convoluted, because it is true, in a way, that the story is very twisted. I think that is a good way of describing it, especially with all the feelings that get stirred up with Edward's absence, Bella's coping and hold on Jacob, and then Edward's reappearance and the complication that creates with Jacob.
She is right, the story is epic and convoluted - I can't wait for Kristen and the rest of them to start work on it!
