Spunk Ransom has scans of the new article in Life & Style magazine called “Robert vs Taylor: Twilight Showdown” that talks about the upcoming rivalry in New Moon between Jacob Black and Edward Cullen. Here’s an excerpt, check after the break for the rest of the scanned article–

After hiding out in his native London for more than a month, Twilight’s breakout star, Robert Pattinson, returned to Hollywood to stake his claim to the hearts of crazed fans. “I’m happy to be back,” he told Life & Style exclusively while downing a Stella Artois beer at LA’s Palihouse hotel on Feb. 18.

But Rob’s journey could be cut short because his character, vampire Edward Cullen, skips town in the flick’s sequel, New Moon. The story then centers on his ladylove, Bella (Kristin Stewart), getting closer to werewolf Jacob Black.

Enter fresh-faced Taylor Lautner, who stars as Jacob, to steal the spotlight. “I wanted to get Twilight over with, let Edward have his time with Bella and get moving with New Moon,” Taylor tells Life & Style. “It’s about time Jacob got in there.”

    Team Edward all the wayyyyyyyyyyyyy baby. There is no competition at all. I like Jacob's character but he ends up imprinting on Nessie, so it was never about Bella really, I think it was always about what was going to happen in BD and that the connection that Jacob had to Bella is simply because some divine force was saying 'she is going to give you what you need' and that turns out to be Nessie!!! Edward and Bella are just meant to be and Jacob (no offense) never stood a chance!! Now the whole Team Taylor and Team Rob thing. For me it is definitely Team Rob!!!!!!!!!!! Rob is sweet, sexy, charming, funny, self-deprecating, down to earth, has no idea how amazing he is and can make fun of him self, plus he has the single most perfect set of eyes EVER, and his sexy little laugh is adorable!!! Taylor's interviews have really turned me off him, I mean he is definitely cute but there are plenty of boys who are cute, whereas Rob is extraordinary :)

    Maybe it's because I'm 25 and Taylor is way too young for me, but to me there's no competition, ROB IS SOOOOOO MUCH HOTTER!!!!!!! Those eyes are just tooo sexy!!! Don't want to offend anyone (everyone is entitled to their own opinion) but I really can't udnerstand how people can read the books and be Team Jacob, isn't the hole book about how much Bella loves EDWARD, that's her soul mate, the one who she can't live without. I am so TEAM EDWARD, and totally TEAM ROB!!!! To me Taylor just seams like a little kid, while Rob is sexy, humble and totally gorgeous!!!! LOVE ROB!!! =D

    I'm a complete obsessed Twilight fan:) and 100% team Jacob. I run with the wolves;) Though I do love all the main charcters and actors. I'm really excited for New Moon! even though Eclipse was my favorite. haha. So i will be waiting for that movie also:) Twilight was amazing and my favorite scene was the ballet studio, but it would have been better with more Jacob xD

    They both "win" in the end . . . . don't forget that! It shouldn't be such a big deal about Taylor/Rob or whatever the media is trying to do with this story, they really do like each other. It is simply that Jacob is brought into the story as a central character instead of a by-standard. It is necessary, regardless of whether or not you "like" Jacob because he is a key player through the remainder of the books.

    In my POV, they don't look nothing alike BUT their personalities are very much alike. That's why they both passed the screen (chemistry) test with Kirsten. I love them both, and speaking as only a Team Switzerland would speak, I hope after New Moon and taylor get his turn too, all this Team Edward and Team Jacob turns us all into Team Switzerland. It's silly really how these people who write these ridiculous articles turn us into screeching catfights

    I dont know, I think their going to play up the ending of the book a little more making it a fair split between Edward and Jacob. Both characters need the screen time to show their developments. Edward is probably going to be the beginning and ending of the movie and Jacob the middle. I really want this to be Jacob's movie but I dont think its going to turn out like that.

    I hate how articles do this; they fabricate some bogus story to capture the interests of people who clearly aren't in-the-know about twilight series. plus, i DOUBT taylor could replace rob, as rob plays edward; EDWARD wins in the end, so how could rob ever get replaced!!! and about the whole "taylor is better than rob" i disagree; i think that taylor is one to live in the spotlight, while rob likes to do his own thing and really doesn't want the attention; i dont know about anyone else, but i like a humble guy, not some self absorbed dude like taylor; yeah hes nice, but all he wanted was for new moon to come on so he could get all the glory!!!!

I still think that Taylor looks a little young, but he did such a good job in Twilight I am anxious to see what happens in New Moon as far as the chemistry between Kristen and him.... There is NO competition as to who my leading man is though... Rob all the way. Of course I ADORE Edward (who doesnt huh?? LOL) but Rob is just the most beautiful man ever.. he is sweet and down to earth. I love how his has a shyness to him still and is self-concious. He is my favorite actor and I couldnt be happier that he is portraying my favorite book man!

    There is no showdown...are you kidding me!? Rob is a better actor and will always be much more popular than Taylor. Mainly because he is a gentleman, has a great sense of humor, and doesn't take himself too seriously.     There is no showdown...are you kidding me!? Rob is a better actor and will always be much more popular than Taylor. Mainly because he is a gentleman, has a great sense of humor, and doesn't take himself too seriously.     I totally agree with youuu - I hope his two scenes are great ones, and hopefully very loong ha ! because the whole general story is about edward and bella, and if he hadnt left she wouldnt have the relationship she does with jacob..
    and the whole book like builds up to the ending anyway.

    When I'll be watching New Moon the only thing I will be thinking about is the end when Edward comes back and we get to see more of Robert on screen. Sorry Taylor you're cute too, but I prefer vampires:) I like a guy to suck on my neck than lick my face ha ha ha ha:) jk

    ... the second book tells us the journey of Bella living without Edward and Jacob will enter the scene. But in the end its still Bella and Edward.

Taylor's better for my type of audience- 16's and 17's.

    TEAM EDWARD!!! Taylor just look like a kid. This is not even considered a competition because Talyor don't even have the right to compete with Rob. And don't forget at the end of the story Jacob becomes Edward son-in-law! So Talor should just probably show Rob some respect!
