Does it really matter what color the car is as long as the movie ROCKS? I think visually, a color other than red would be better considering they have painted the house and "garage" (if that's what they are being used for) red. It's not like the color of the VW is as big of a topic as say the VOLVO!

i don't get why we should be upset by a green car, i mean.. i'd rather it's not red, since bella's car is red and that would mean it would become a very red movie.. (red truck, red rabbit red house, red garage, red blood, red hair ('like fire on the water, or whatever'), red light district....



i think green woul be a nice distraction from all the red.. :P

Stephenie Meyer's website only has the make and model of the cars in her books not he exact cars. She only had them added so the readers could get an idea of what kind of car she is talking about.

I like the car that's been picked. As everyone else has mentioned, everything red would be a bit too much. It must be the vehicle though, as on those pictures its the only one without a licence plate. Perhaps Jacob will spray paint it red himself in the movie?

In Eclipse ... About halfway to La Push, we rounded the corner and found Jacob leaning against the side of the red Volkswagen he'd built.... so it does state the color in the book.

It ways in the book that when Bella first goes into Jake's garage and see's the unfinished car that it's RED!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone, I actually live in the town right beside Port Coquitlam and went today to see the set. It was empty except a security guard. It was the forest green VW that was parked outside of the house, there was no other cars there than a beat up old truck. Apparently the Volvo was gone. So I guess that is the VW that are using. It's pretty beat up as well so I guess that would make sense.
The crew was not there today, the security guard was pretty nice but still scary. I snapped a few photos, and even got a few of myself in front of the car and barn. And the best part- it was pouring rain just like in Forks! The La Push scenery was really convincing. The guard came out and warned me that I could get sued if those photos were released anywhere. So I developed them and I won't be posting them on the internet or anything. It was so exciting!!

I am going to stop by on Monday as they start filming then and I am wondering if they will be filming the scene at Billy Black's house as they just painted and set up. The yard is completely set up with an old boat, tackle, the farmhouse is old and learning and the grass looks like it needs a gardener. The house is so tiny!

I have never posted here before but if anyone has any questions about the site just leave a comment and I will check back here. I will fill you all in if I see anything on Monday!

It doesn't need to be red for New Moon and here is why. We don't know the color of the car in New Moon. When she sees it in the garage, it is an almost completely built car up on cinder blocks. If he's rebuilding a car from basically scraps, wouldn't that also stand to reason that he'd put a fresh coat of paint on it when he's done? As long as it's red when he's done with it, we're good. But then again...black would ultimately be better. More manly. Sorry Stephenie . ;)

I tried finding the set yesterday. Never been to Qoquitlam before, so I had no luck. It was too stormy & rainy, so I gave up and headed back to their hotel. Jacob's car is cool! It'll be funny to see Mike try and squeeze into the back seat!

I am pretty sure that the car is red. i think at one point in eclipse or new moon they say it is red. either at a point where jacob is at bella's house or at one of the "hand-offs" where edward hands bella over to jacob for the night. at least i think thats where they say it...

The reason I chose my car, http://images.autobytel.com/cyber/235638/i09812... , was because Jacob's car was the only drivable car from Twilight cars. I don't like trucks or large cars. I originally wanted a VW Red Rabbit Convertible, but instead got the Cabriolet. I guess it looks more like the movie car now, except it's red like the book car. That kinda makes me angry. They should change the paint color and make the roof white.
