Twilight DVD Release Parties Mega-Post

We’re going to try and collect all the info we’re got on the Twilight DVD Release Parties here. If you haven’t heard already, there will be some “secret guests” at certain unannounced Twilight parties, according to the offical Stephenie Meyer website–

On Friday, March 20, 2009, from 10PM until 12 midnight, Summit Home Entertainment and retailers across the country will provide TWILIGHT fans with the chance to celebrate the midnight DVD release of the film that has unanimously been described as a “full-blown pop culture phenomenon.” Participating retailers will stay open late as fans line up to purchase the DVD of the epic romance at midnight parties. While there, contests, autographed merchandise raffles, giveaways, limited edition merchandise including collectable clothing and memorabilia will all be available!
In addition, TWILIGHT actors and filmmakers will be making surprise appearances at select locations throughout the country!

After the break we’ve posted specific info about release parties at Blockbuster and other locations. If you have any detailed info about other parties you know about, feel free to use the comments to post it!

Blockbuster is hosting midnight Twilight DVD release parties across the country on Friday. I’m promoting the Washington, DC event and I thought you might want to let all the Twilight fans out there know what’s going on!
Most of the events will be pretty similar. At ours, we’re bringing in a local radio station, hosting a vampire look-a-like contest where someone will win a year of Blockbuster rentals and we’ll be giving away Twilight DVD’s throughout the party. Plus there will be tons of games and other Twilight related prizes to win.
We’re out for blood too! We’re doing a call for people to give blood to local area blood banks. In exchange for giving a pint of blood, the first 50 people will receive a pint of ice cream for Edy’s ice cream.
The location for this event is 11325 Seven Locks Rd. in Potomac, MD which is in the Washington, DC metro area. It is located in the Cabin John Mini-Mall. Other events can be searched for online or you can call your local Blockbuster store to see what events they are doing for the release!

The Wal-Mart midnight releases have some pretty sick features. The first 50 people to show up will receive a special prize. But the big news? There will be an exclusive broadcast from the stars live during the event. Check out all the details at their page:

I was hoping that you can put that announcement up on your site I am also waiting to hear back from Hot Topic as well…good chance i will be able to sing at both parties! I feel the same way IndiesR, but not only that I already have my movie I got it early, so i don't have to go to get the movies, plus I don't want to have to deal with all the immature people that will be there and makes it unpleasent fro everyone else...

it depends on what part of Cali you live in. I mean, i live in Fremont, CA. so theres like, very little chance theyll be here. But if you live close to LA or something, im sure youll have a HUGE chance.

It is in a chapters bookstore, and I was unsure of whether or not this information would apply to my city, as it is only talking about release parties in the US.

It is held on Robson Street, which is where the cast has been hanging out all week, and I am curious whether or not any cast members will be there...

But I will be so mad at myself if by chance rob pattinson actually shows up at one of the ones around me. I live near Boston but there are so many parties that i wouldnt even know which to go to.

Thanks! It's just another reason on my very long list of why I don't want to live in MT anymore. There's nothing here! Although, I have to admit when I started reading Twilight I couldn't believe that there's so much Native American stuff in there. I had to laugh because my hubby and I live on a reservation (he's a teacher here) So that was pretty cool.

I live in Port Angeles, WA... and here and Forks are going crazy!!!!! Im gonna be in Seattle Friday and Saturday. Im SO bummed I can't be in Forks for the release party there!!!!!! But there are so many awesome things going on here this weekend!!!

There gonna be doing tours all over and go down to La Push and all. Ive already been everywhere, but to go on an actual Twilight tour would be fun. They do tours all the time guys! So come on over to Forks and walk in the school, go to La Push and the "real" Jacobs house, they even have a house that looks like the Cullens house that they turned into a bed and breakfast. Its fun to be in the small towns that are getting so much attention and tourists!

I'm planning to start at F.Y.E. (Sterling hgts, Mi) because they are having a costume contest and I have the perfect Alice outfit. Then I'd like to head to Walmart (Chesterfield, MI). I got a t-shirt there yesterday as they were setting up the twilight display, but they haven't put out any other merchandise yet. Yeah for Twilight stuff at Walmart prices!!! I'm wondering if any cast members will be at walmart stores since Rob was there last weekend and beause they made a deal with Summit???

I spoke to the people at Walmart in NH today - the party starts at midnight and they're showing the whole movie while the party goes on... there will be giveaways too! Free stuff is always great! I'm going to hit up FYE, Blockbuster and Borders before hand... luckily they're all on the same road :) Have fun everybody!!!

Target is only great if you have an ipod that plays movie because it comes with the digital copy. I'm sure one of the cast are going to be here in California. I mean, its Cali ! One of the best states ! I'm glad I live here .. haha.

I doubt lil ole NC would be that lucky, but it doesn't hurt to HOPE, eh? :) Do you know if the party is actually in the store (or the mall itself).. I was thinking about going but Hot Topic is pretty cramped so I think I'll just stop by Walmart here.

I can't wait!!! I am planning on party-hopping from Hot Topic to Borders to Wal-Mart. I know the Borders at the mall in Troy, MI will be fun. I went to the movie release party and Breaking Dawn party. Fun, not too crowded, and run by FANS-not just random employees. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYYY!!!!

I don't think I'll be going to any of the release parties. Nothing exciting ever happens in Mesa, Arizona, and I'd rather fall off the Grand Canyon than be in a room filled to the brim with immature, crying, screaming tweens again (Mall tour, anyone?), so I think I'm just going to my DVD from Target on Saturday morning.

I saw Candace Wilson (charee) perform at superstition springs mall and she was FANTASTIC! i got her CD and she autographed it for me and i got a pic lol! it was fun fun! i was on the news and internet too!
