New Moon Set Meadow Forest Scene

Could this be a new set for New Moon? The signs are all pointing towards yes. This forest area would make the perfect spot for the scene where Bella meets up with Laurent. After some investigation, the folks over at Twilight-Gossip are reporting that this is indeed a set for New Moon-

After going to the site, seeing the trucks parked a few yards away and speaking with a few “contact” it’s been confirmed that this site will be used for a New Moon scene.

Here’s a video they took at the set–

New Moon Poster

So, now that we know that Michael Sheen has been cast as Aro in New Moon–who else is left to cast? There are still some very big shoes to fill, Amanda Bell at the Examiner has noticed–including:

  • First, we have Alec. Alec is the second part of the dynamic deadly duo of Alec and Jane. He, who is also a member of the Volturi guard, is a direct contrast in his extra capacities as a vampire. Like Edward, Alice, and Jane, he has an additional power – aside from being unbelievably strong, fast, and lethal – and that is that he can virtually erase all sensory experience from his prey
  • Marcus‘ ability is rather extraordinary as well – he can sense the ties that bind relationships like Edward and Bella’s or the Cullen family in general
  • Third, we have Seth and Leah Clearwater. Though their roles are albeit practically nonexistent in New Moon (a mere mention or two, at best), they come into play at a much greater level later in the series.
  • Finally, we have some side characters whose role in the films will be fairly small, but important nonetheless. Take Mrs. Clearwater, for example.

Anyone have suggestions for who would fit well in these roles? Check out the whole article on who else is left to cast over at the Twilight Examiner.

200904131257.jpg Some people just hate Twilight. Will the casting of Michael Sheen as Aro in New Moon turn the tide on people who might not have seen the sequel because they didn’t like Twilight? EW thinks so, suggesting that having Michael Sheen in the movie lends credibility to New Moon

Sara: Holy crap! Now I will definitely go see this movie! I love Michael Sheen!

beelkay: Fantastic! Now that I can get behind. I just hope all these good actors they’re getting lift the original cast’s game rather than overshadow them.

Jessi: I wasn’t sure if I’d bother to see New Moon in theatres, but I definitely will now! Michael Sheen is exactly the kind of actor Summit needs to cast to atone for the mediocrity of the first film.

stella: Twilight is a piece of trash, but Michael Sheen is the s—.

200904131039.jpg Now that we’ve seen some pictures from filming on the set of New Moon, what can we learn from them? What about the camera that Kristen Stewart is holding in one photo?–

In New Moon, Bella receives the camera, and it becomes a major part of her tormentous break-up with Edward. Yet, this is a digital camera, and in the book, the camera is not. I’m sure this remediable, since digital photos, too, are erase-able.
Nevertheless, as this is, to fans, a most important scene for The Twilight Saga: New Moon to get right, this photo may give us a reason to believe it shall.

Another, of Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella might make one think they might be in the middle of filming the break-up scene also. The look on Kristen’s face says it all, don’t you think?

200904130819.jpg Boxwish has a new article on whether the fashion in New Moon will have the “Midas Touch” on items picked to be in the movie, like the BB Dakota cargo jacket in Twilight–and further, if New Moon will be able to improve style-wise, and make the wardrobe closer to what is described in the books–

Actress Nikki Reed (aka Rosalie Hale) has been very vocal in her opinion that the Cullens didn’t look quite right in Twilight and of her hopes that these problems will be addressed in New Moon. Likewise, some fans have complained that Alice is more about haute couture than vintage chic, and so should have been dressed in designer labels during Twilight rather than boho one-offs.

Can New Moon’s fashions prove as popular as Twilight’s?
