Wolf Pack New Moon Chris Weitz has revealed an interesting detail on how the shapeshifting werewolves in New Moon will appear once they transform into wolf form. Though they will be computer generated creatures the size of horses, the eyes will be digitally pasted on from the actors’ actual eyes, in order to make them as realistic as possible. Weitz also notes that the wolf pack has been bonding quite a bit in preparation for their roles–

The Twilight sequel is filming now, and between takes, the actors usually are working out with barbells, doing push-ups or chowing down on steak, Weitz says. “They went through wolf camp together, and they are in constant training. It paid off as a bonding thing for them and helped them to get to know one another. They drove each other to get more buff.”

Yes, you are seeing this right–it’s the wolf pack from New Moon, shirtless and in their movie attire at last . Or rather, their lack of attire-

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

“It’s not pleasant for the actors,” says director Chris Weitz. “But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, ‘OK, off with the robes.’ “

Thank you, James White, for the amazing photograph. More, please!

UPDATE:We now have a high resolution version of the New Moon wolf pack shirtless, perfect for a desktop wallpaper.

200904212125.jpg The typically reliable Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood is reporting that David Slade, edgy director of Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night is in talks to possibly direct the Eclipse movie. He has reportedly already met with Stephenie Meyer as well as Summit President Erik Feig. No official word on this yet, so consider it a rumor at this point. What do you think of this choice if he ends up being picked for the job?

New Moon Cliff Dive Pool Vancouver Set

We previously saw the exterior of the pool complex where the New Moon crew is filming the underwater portions of the cliff dive sequence, but now RobPattzNews brings these photos from the inside where the action takes place. The enormous set of green screens means this shot will have lots of special effects–I’m guessing that Chris Weitz is aiming to make this a visually stunning and memorable scene since it’s so pivotal to the plot of New Moon.

Rachelle LeFevre is set to star in a new Lifetime network movie called Do You Know Me, which will premiere on May 17th. She’s recently been spotted by Punkd pics on Lainey Gossip lending a helping hand on the streets of Vancouver to a fellow redhead–what a doll! Lainey also shares this news in today’s update about New Moon–

As for what’s happening today on set:

They’re shooting a scene around the woods involving Edward and Bella. Edward has to go, then leaves, then seems to be in anguish. Something about “taking his soul”. It’s the break up.

200904211839.jpg Everyone’s favorite big bro Kellan Lutz has a new interview for the Australian release of Twilight, and he talks about his favorite part of filming Twilight–

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SCENE TO SHOOT?

Favorite scene to shoot, I would have to say (pause) probably the ballet scene, that’s where I was rigged and we did a lot of stunts and that’s my forte – I love doing stunts and getting dirty and hurting myself so it was really fun when we jumped off the balcony. You land on the ground fifteen feet below but it’s really a free fall because we have to act like vampires so it’s that rush of being safe but not feeling safe!

Check out the rest of the interview with Kellan over at Dolly.

200904211557.jpg Some of you may have read about a supposed lawsuit gumming up the production of New Moon. I decided when I first received the story a few days ago not to mention it, because it set off my BS-alarm immediately, and I didn’t want to perpetuate the falsehood. But now, so many media outlets are reporting it that Stephenie Meyer herself has been forced to issue a statement. In the interest of putting this one to rest for good, here is her letter–be sure to check the last paragraph for her thoughts on the progress of New Moon so far!
