Michael Sheen is the greatest!!! I loved him as Lucian in Underworld as well as the entire Underworld series!!! He's going to do an awesome portrayl of Aro!!! I know the first film wasn't as polished and thought out as some of us hoped (i'll admitt it couldn've been done better). I see it now that the fist Twilight movie was just the beginning to get the story across of "first love".But New Moon will change all that!!! The films will evolve into an entertainment not just for us Twilight saga fans but for other movie goers!!!! I can't wait for this movie!!!!

I trust Chris' choices for the most part but I really hope this gentleman wasn't hired simply to pull in non-Twilight fans to see the movie. GAH! I know Michael is talented but he needs to be "right" for the movie and the part. I'm not saying he isn't but I don't like the whole "Michael will pull in non-Twilight fans" crap . . . it makes them sound money hungry.

I love they cast Michael as Aro, he's a great actor. Good choice.
I hear all this talk of haters...I must admit when I saw the previews for the movie right before it came out, I was like, cool, a vampire movie. I didn't know about the books, never was a reader.
I saw the movie and I admit I didn't like it too much, I couldn't understand what Robert was trying to do in the biology scene. And the way they loved each other so much in such a short time.
Then the next week after it came out I had to take care of my nieces while my sister had a brain tumor. To take my nieces mind of her mother I took her to see Twilight, she wanted to see it. After that I found out about the books. I read them all, and I loved them. Took my niece many more times to see it while I was there for months. It's her first crush. From reading the books, I understand the movie now, what Robert was trying to portray, which he did. I liked it more, knowing that there was a small budget and what had to be taken out.
Hopefully now with the bigger budget, New Moon and the rest will be closer to the book. I really can't wait.
I have friends and even my sister who is doing better, reading the books, then watch the movie. Now their Twilight fans. I guess people just really need to read the book, to like the movie.

I think the casting of aro was really good i love this actor he did so good in underworld and i dont give a damn about making the haters into twilight lover really why try to please plp that dont have taste i know i really dont care either u hate it or love it I KNOW THAT I LOVE IT and if u dont like it is because u really dont know whatz good if it crash u in the street ....

ok, I'm going to say it....Aro in my mind is what Armand looks like in Interview with the Vampire....this actor....I don't know...can he pull it off? I can't get past him playing Tony Blair in The Queen...........

This is exactly how I pictured Aro in my imagination while reading New Moon for the first time. I was worried that Aro would be cast too young (as I think Caius was - but I think Campbell-Bower will do a good job with a little transformative make-up), but Sheen is ideal. He'll transform into the perfectly creepy, onion-skinned Aro. And Sheen has enough presence to really pull off being the "leader" of the vampire world. I can totally see him hanging with Carlisle back in the day...

Im so happy he's been cast.
Now the media should hopefully shut up about these being tween movies when they're not.
I loved him in The Queen and Underworld, he is very talented.

He gives the movies credibility, and hopefully makes people realise these movies are serious. That they're not some cheap, indie films.

Well I mean...he doesn't look THAT old and with make up i'm sure they can make their age appear closer. I've never seen underworld, but he was great in Frost/Nixon.

I can say one thing I watched him in Underworld and I see he can probably do the job hiowever it was too rushed now ok I am gonna compare how it was delivered to Harry Potter I may not have read the HP books but it seemed moral normal and I think they need to capture the important momemnts you dont just slap random scenes together if they do that it'll be ok see lets say a scene is buthered they can still refer to it in another scene..................

Amazing Selection, he had not crossed my mind to play Aro But I can totally Picture it, this production is totally living up to the hype so far!! It just gets me all excited. We have real actors doing this movies method actors Like Rob, Kristen, Dakota, and now Micahel. These are all intense dedicated actors who really enjoy the craft of being an actor. Really does add to the movie cannot wait!!

I just hope the chick who played Bell gets an acting coach... she was BAD!

I have to disagree with that. I thought Kristen Stewart did an excellent job playing Bella. Her acting is more subtle, which gives it a more realistic feel. Not every person has to be flamboyant and over-exaggerate their emotions when it comes to acting in movies. Bella was very reserved in the books, and most of the emotions and thoughts she kept in her head. If you really watch Kristen Stewart play the role, you'd see she really thought out the portrayal. Some of the best actors right now do the same subtle technique as she does. I felt like she made Bella more of a real person, it didn't look forced. Even when she stuttered and stammered in the movie, that's something real people do. I appreciate more realistic acting than the "broadway" type acting that we see often. Kristen did an awesome job, and I can't wait to see how she does with portraying the utter heartbreak Bella feels in New Moon!

I had today off too!!!
I guess, in a sense, I slept in. Usually I wake up at 4:45am and today I didn't get up til about 6:30am. I checked NMM (of course) and ran some errands. Came home, checked NMM again. And then, since I had no kids or hubby at home.....i went to the movies all by myself!!!!! It was fabulous! And the best thing about it...it was a rated R movie!!! The only movies I usually ever get to see in the theatre are kids movies!

BTW....I saw Adventureland! It was funny......and what a great soundtrack!

BTW, I also getup early, but not because of work or pets or kids, when my husband is home, I get up at 4AM so i can be in the gym by 5AM.

A good morning workout and any pic of Mr. Pattison is how I like to get my day started. LOL

I love Rob, I was just thinking about the ipod touch earlier today! Too funny. I NEED it for the bigger screen. Yes! I have the ipod classic and it cuts off half of Edward & Charlie while they are waiting for Bella to come downstairs. Boooo!

I know!!! I have the nano and you pretty much only see the center of the scene! So any of the characters that are on either side of screen are cut out!!! But i dont care! I still watch it!!! So worth having it take up half the memory on my ipod!

IndiesR, I have an extra ipod code w/ extras that I am not using. I bought the Target dvd AND bluray for when I eventually do get a bluray player. Seeing "Edward" in high def sounded like a good deal. Yes, I am pathetic, but that is besides the point. Shhh. lol They both came with ipod codes, so if you want the extra one, I will be glad to send it to a fellow fan. None of my friends like Twilight, so no one wanted it when I offered. Pfffttt. They just don't understand, but maybe I can convert them for New Moon, eh.

lmao! I adore huskies. We use to have one when I was a child and I have been hooked ever since. I actually rescued these two. I work for an animal shelter in my town and they were part of a raid on a puppy mill. I had to wait forever before I could adopt them. They stole my little heart the moment I saw them.

We do get cold weather! This year we had tons of snow which is odd. Usually we only have enough to dust the grass. Which is why the 6 inch snow days shut the entire town down lol.

Thank you! Working with animals has been a dream of mine since a child. I would rescue lizard who lost their tales lol that is how looney I am lol! During school I had to take a euthanasia class and cried almost every day. Which is why I work for a kill-free shelter. I couldn't put an animal down just because someone didn't want them. Breaks my dirty little heart!

twilight may be one of the BEST movies's i seen in a long time and robert and kristan are amazing cactors (as well as everyone else "emmet" is one of my favs) and yeah its great there adding new actors but to think that ONE actor is going to make the movie better then the first it just stupid

Shoot WHO cares what the haters think... the LOVERS will always be there backing the books and movies up and I'm pretty sure we could care less if they wanna watch it or even go watch it... if they do end up loving it, then good for them... they'll realize something amazing that million others had already known... I, myeslf love all thats twighlight, but also even though i never knew micheal's name, he was awesome in underworld, and also underworld rise of the lycans, i think he will be a awesome Aro, if he brings it like he did in the underworld movies. but i do agree that haters should read the first 2 books before going to see this movie or they will be lost. since twilight the movie left out edward explaining some of carlisles origins and his stint with the Volturi.

I think that people who have not (or do not intend to) read the books, shouldn't be allowed to watch the movies, or even comment on them for that matter! That might sound a bit silly to you, but the books are absolutely amazing. I find, for the most part, the haters are the ppl who have just watched the movie, and have not read the books .. and I mean all FOUR, not just twilight.

I personally do not think you can appreciate the movies, if you haven't read the 4 books.

What I don't get IS the haters. Personally, if I don't like a movie, a book, whatever .. I don't waste my time writing all about my extreme hatred all over the internet! I can't stand those who look for forums (like this) and just post negative stuff about The saga. Its annoying and absolutely childish!!

I've got to disagree with this. The movies bring people's attention to the books. I had no interest in reading the Twilight series. But I was intrigued by the trailers for the movie, so I went and saw it in the theater. I fell completely in love with the plot and went out and got all four books and read them within a week. If it hadn't been for the movie, I wouldn't have bothered to read the books.

I absolutely and undeniably agree with everything you just said! If they don't like it, why do they even care? Even if i don't like a movie, even if it was horrible in my opinion, I'd just say, "No, I didn't like it." and that would be it. What an incredible waste of time on their part!

However, I have found there were a couple of people I knew that were mildly interested, that hadn't read the books, that watched Twilight first and were then inspired to read the books. Now they're fanatics like us. But I highly doubt that the majority of people that for some reason hate the series and movie with a passion, would be persuaded by one actor to see New Moon. If they made up their mind that they hated it, they're just going to bash this next one if they go see it. They'll just look for the little flaws and over-analyze, or even bash it just because certain things are not exactly the same as the book. It's not even worth the time trying to persuade any twilight-haters, I don't care what they think. I like it and that's all that matters! : )

You got it. If you haven't read the books,shut up. These actors have done a fantastic job playing the characters. In a lot of them, it's like they walked out of the book.

They post stuff to get a rise out of the die hards.... That's the only thing I've yet to come up with when it comes to reasons "why?". Just ignore them. They are critics and everyone/thing has one so let them be. That's my advice.

Michael Sheen will be AWESOME in this role. I'm not sure how bringing him in specifically will change the opinions of some people who don't like Twilight, but, I'm glad they're balancing the cast with known and unknown actors.

I had the same thought about this recently with a colleague.......... Caius should be within the same age group as Aro... let's hope that it will work out.

I love that they cast Michael Sheen as Aro...he is perfect for the role. The kid who they cast as Caius is too young, though I think he'll do a good job. It wil be interesting to see how the whole movie comes together.

ive never seen him act but if they say hes that good i think i'll watch underworld. but i thought twilight was amazing even after a read the book but if he gets more ppl to see the movie i guess thats good too.

Twilight was a brilliant film and hopefully the new actors that will join the cast will compliment the original cast members.

Never heard of him, but they seem to have a nack for casting in these movies, so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. :)

I also agree with you. i was just thinking more new fans = more money made which means an even bigger budget for Eclipse and the green light for BD! But your point is def a good one. Twilight fans are the best!

Double agree. These people don't know what they are talking about. One new actor isn't going to make any difference to all us Twilight lovers. Can't beat the original cast in no way. Michael Sheen may be a good actor,but he doesn't have THE LOOK we all love. You know who. And yes, HE can act great,too. TEAM EDWARD

The more new fans, the better! I think casting him was a great idea and New Moon is going to be brilliant.

but when your making a movie you have to butcher some things. i mean i didnt like it either but they didnt have a very big budget to some things got cut off. it happens. New moon should be WAY better bc they have a much bigger budget to work with this time. And it will be awesome watching michael sheen1
