Ashley Chow, a student at David Thompson secondary in Vancouver, has less than kind words to say about the fact that New Moon filmed at her school–
It seemed pretty cool at first, but when you mix in the hottest celebrities with a horrible film crew, the school turns into chaos. Closing the cafeteria for two days, taking over the foyer and forcing students to make detours and stop dead in our tracks during our break and lunch because they were filming a big-shot movie was not cool.
If they had wanted us to be quiet, perhaps they should’ve thought that through before taking over our school for two days. The crew acting like our school was theirs didn’t help either.

Huh oh, she just referred to the film crew as horrible…that makes me really nervous.
Koooooooooool. I would soo been excited if they filmed at my school specially New moon or any of the Twilight movies
Ah I say blame it on the school, they were the ones to give permission, perhaps they should off given them 2 days off or something, but it can't be blamed on the production staff.
I wouldn't care if cafeteria was closed I mean is not like school food is good anyways lol
they could lock me in a room for 2 weeks if they wanted to film at my school.
True, but I do agree with about the “stalker fans”
Honestly, they could not have filmed there without someone's permission, maybe she should be annoyed with the principal or whoever it was that gave them free reign instead? I liked her comment about Spunk though. I quite agree.
I blame the school, they allowed it to film at that their school, they should off given the kids time off or asked the production company to film at weekends. Some have brains but no common sense LMAO
I agree, it's the school fault for allowing it and not letting the kids have those days off….
Ah! I can't believe she said that! I would love it if my school was taken over for two days, and especially if I got to see Rob or any other of the cast!
He, he… Rob…
I bet the crew were great, probably a bit annoyed that kids were being pushy and loud!
I would not have cared. It would have been worth the hassle to have New Moon filming where I went to school. And how much do you wanna bet that the person who was mad is a diehard fan! get over it!
If I were there I would ignore w/e the crew said and just be happy to at least see Rob
Dear Ungrateful Student,
Shut up. You're a brat. Be happy a HUGE movie was just shot at your school.
The End.
hahah good one
O who the hell cares. Im getting so PO at all these fricken haters. Bet your butt she go see the dawn movie. or better yet, brag that New moon was shooting at her school. Shes just pissed that Rob didnt give her the time of day!!!!!!!!!!! GO ROB>>>SCREW THOSE HATERS…ok now i need to calm down>>>
When I was in high school it was being remodeled for 3 years. We had constant detours, our entire courtyard was blocked off for months, parking was a nightmare, huge sections of rooms were shut down at a time, dust and noise were a constant, and we had 70-80 portables. Yet we survived. I'm pretty sure those kids could last 2 days with a film crew there. js
u are totally right!!!! they just wanted to say this is the school that new moon was shot at wahoo……
forget the kids they dont need no edumaction…………..i wanna see new moon…..
7 months later…..hey thats my school, omg thats so coool. lol
they could have so filmed on weekends
Well to start with, the school has probably got paid for the hire of the location, and this usually does not come cheap. I Blame the school for not being able to organise itself.. they could probably have given the students a couple of days off and catched up later..
What? I would be elated!
What's two days of detours when you get to spy on your favorite celebs?
LOL! i wouldn't care if the cafeteria was closed or that we had to stop dead in our tracks during our break and lunch. New moon are filming at her school for COL!!
I gotta say I am NOT at all surprised to see this reaction from a student at the school. The school's administration should have organized these two days better for the students, either giving them some off time or had given them some information of what to expect. I guess there must have been some miscommunication between the production company there and the schools administration thus the crew and the students clashed. Not the first time that has happened I bet when it comes to filming at public places like that. I hope this student went to the schools administration with her complaints as well, as they belong THERE rather to the Vancouver Sun who seems to be hell bent on revealing whatever set the NM production has going!
As for the film crew being horrible, I think the student was referring to them being rude and not very understanding to the students' frustration, I do not think it will have anything to do with the actual production of the movie.
And yes I agree on those outside the school stalking the set there, it is a friggin school! To start swarming the set when the school is in use by both students and well film cast and crew is crazy!
I do wonder though..why not film at the school during the weekends when the school wasn't in use? But then again that would mean working all weekend long, maybe not as popular with cast and crew lol. Ppl do like their time off sometimes too hehe.
true!
it's the Greater Good we're talking about!
I'd happily go back to high school, even for a whole year if it meant that I could meet Rob! LOL
How ridiculous. It's pathetic to think that someone can't handle a little chaos at their school for a couple of days. I mean are you not at all flexible? Go with the flow a little! If it really was a problem, then the school needed to have managed the students better. This movie brought tons of attention to their city and to the school. I think it is well worth a little disruption. (eyeroll)
What a stupid girl thats all I have to say…
I think after the chaos is gone and everyong has had time to cool down, a good majority of those individuals complaining will realize that it was TOTALLY AWESOME to have a major movie filmed at their small school!
Mean while, take a chill pill… and I'm sorry you feel the way you do.
I remember when I was a teenager…everything seemed like such a big deal. Good ol times..lol not that old….
While the school could have handled it better (informing students beforehand exactly what would happen, perhaps requiring filming during weekends or after school hours, etc) I think the upset student(s) should calm down. It was 2 DAYS. not weeks, not months, not the whole school year- 2 DAYS.
I do however agree with the fans snooping around being too much.
I also believe that every student complaining is in line for the movie and bragging about it being 'their school'!
ah yeah! Meee tooo! I'd do just about anything they would ask of me. I can't believe how retarded this kid is!! She just wants to be in a newspaper so she is whining like a little baby. Maybe she is a Miley Cyrus fan .. thats it!! Miley put her up to it .. that B$tich!!!
I actually had a quick look on the school website when it was first announced what school it was filming at. All the school said on said website in a newsletter was for students to bring a packed lunch in on a certain day, they then said depending on the weather it could be another day.
Yes both the school and crew could have communicated better to make it easier for those pupils and staff at the school, one of way of doing this would have been to film over a weekend. However to be fair you cannot really blame it all on the crew and school, but a major part of the blame should also be given to the the fans themselves, and more specifically those who posted all over the web which school they were filming at. I can understand the crew getting frustrated when they have hundreds if not thousands of screaming fan girls, this frustration probably then unintentionally made it so that the students did not have the pleasant time they expected when they had firast found out about New Moon scenes being shot there.
The fans who went to the school should have realized that there actions would affect the day to day running of the school to a larger affect than it had already been. Yes to tell you the truth I would jump to at the chance of going to a set of New Moon, but maybe not a school.
Good night, self centered much? The amount of money that the school recieved for two days of inconvienience will go to making much needed improvements and equiptment upgrades.
Totally agree with you there. I don't understand why the couldn't have film on weekends. The only thing I can think of is that they used the actual student's as extras in the backgrounds.
Wa Wa Wa!! poor cry babies! Here's your tissue.
I'm sure the school and township wasn't complaining, they were making tons of money off of NM being shot there. She sounds very spolied.
I wouldn't worry about…..she's a teenager, she hates everyone!!! LOL!
I think the girl just wants to be part of the NewMoon website she wants to feel important by maybe going against what everyone thinks or would do…
You said it perfectly!!!!
When I was in high school, I would've though it was fantastic that a huge movie was being filmed at my school. Sorry if she had a bad experience with it, but two days is a lot better than months. This person will laugh at themselves later on for whining.
They couldn’t be inconvenienced for two days! When I was in high school a hurricane ripped our school apart and we had to go to school in trailers for two years. Stop complaining, that was nothing!
That's possible. It's called “look at me!” syndrome.
LOL! You say “good night” too. That's funny! I say that all the time. I agree with you on your point.
Come on… 2 whole days is really going to affect your life that much??? Why didn't you spend your energy trying to get photos vs. complaining. A 'normal' person would have been just happyt w/ the fact that their otherwise probaBLY insignificant school was being used…..obviously not A TWI fan!! I feel sorry for you when you are out in the 'real' world little girl. You are going to encounter a lot more inconveniences than a 'detour'. If you only knew how many detours life has in store for you……good luck 2 U. Some people will find something to complain about no matter what!
OMG…thats so fricken funny. GOOD ONE!!!!!!!! but I think it might have some truth to it.
I agree. They definitely shouldn't complain when they were giving fair warning that the movie was going to shoot there. I do think the school and production crew probably should've communicated a bit better; sounds like they didn't. And with the fans trying to get in, yeah, that must've been a huge hastle to deal with. Hopefully all learned from the experience as what not to do next time.
maybe thats the problem. The whiny baby didnt get to see rob and she does this
yeah! if it was Zac Efron's movie shot at her school she'd probably be running around drooling heavily waiting for Zac to show up, and not wasting time on complaining about having to be quiet & taking stupid detours
Totally agree. I thought the same thing.
LOL.
Get back on IM, I just got your emails.
Yeah maybe they acted like the school was their..or maybe you had to take detours…but who cares it's NEW MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's ROBERT PATTINSON!!!!!!!!! OBVIOUSLY you are not a fan!!!!! i would die if i had the chance you had…
so lucky, but so ungrateful! I would do (almost) everything to see this film set at live.. these all people!…
omg. what a girl.
or maybe she did see him, but he didn't pay any attention to a plain secondary school girl with nothing to offer but the pathetic longing stare!
Not that would be alot to have to deal with, and yes you are right — 2 days — GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!! And to think they had all those beautiful faces right there!!!! GEEZ!!!!!
and maybe at the moment she's even producing a heart-breaking poem about how the horrible film crew closed the cafeteria. LOL
I know it's bad to hate somebody cause of this kind of thing, and I'm even partly sorry…. but can't help myself
Omg, is she serious? Shut your mouth, you little attention seeking skank. Don't you understand that its TWILIGHT being shot at your school?? Your lucky, you brat. Dude, I'd give my left tit to have New Moon shot at my school.
Wow she must not be a Twilight saga fan… I would be stoked to have a major movie filmed at my high school, in my town, etc, let alone NEW MOON!!!! Shame on her for being a wuss. Not having lunch for a couple of days vs. getting to see KStew and company all day — oh what a decision!
LOL true
get a grip, those were just 2 days for Good sake.
Stop whining about the fact you have to DETOUR!
I'm sure many people – myself included – would happilly detour anywhere to see Rob! Haha.
Boo hoo, they took your canteen for two days.
Be gratefull, damn it!
You took the words right outta my mouth!!!
“Ohhh it was horrible!! we couldn't even get into the cafeteria for the whole yearr!!!” oh wait… it was just 2 DAYS… How stupid is that girl.
well i understand how she feels. They have to suddenly change their schedules to fit around something irrelevant to school (perhaps she's serious about her education). No big deal. she's aloud to complain. it doesn't bother me.
btw i would be stoked if New Moon would be filmed in my school
I'm sure that shool's administration saw dollar signs and didn't think twice about disrupting the day to day schedule. I think having a movie shoot at your school is exciting. I wish something cool would ahve happen to us back in those days!
So true!! Everyone and everything!
lmao… whiners…lol
gah, I want to slap her
wow i cant believe she even said that i would be sooooooooooooo excited if new moon were filming at my school. who cares if you have to take detours to get to class its only 2 days not such a big deal. and it really isnt the new moon people's fault if shes upset, its her school's for letting them film there. and to tell her the truth all the whining, crying, complaining, and bitching your doing isnt gonna help a thing . new moon is filming at her school whether she likes it or not.
Oh good grief, what is she? Five? Life has inconveniences, DEAL!
I love how the media always finds one person who hates their situation and makes it sound like it was the general opinion. I would like to find out what other people who attend the school think… when I was in HS a while ago (clears throat… 10 years ago) our school was under a COMPLETE remodel which took all 3 years I was there.. 2 days is not a big deal.
i kind of understand tho because i am so into my school work that an inconvenience might make me mad at times. now im in college, but in high school as well education is so important to me that i might get annoyed of someone getting in my way. however if this person is annoyed because they don't get a good lunch break, well thats silly cuz i would love to have my lunch interrupted to film this movie!!!!
Ah Geez! It is NO BIG DEAL! In Philly, movie-making always block up streets. Lots of Willis, Stallone, etc. But there's no permanent harm done, so be a little patient. In truth, it is all SO interesting and exciting, especially for a phenomenon like Twilight/New Moon.
I wouldn't let the opinion of a prissy disgruntled student worry you. Really…how much does she know about film making?
probably mad because they wouldn't let her be an extra
I totally blame the school here, One they could have asked that they film on the weekends ans use some of the students as extras, Or two those students who didn't want to be there those 2 days of filming should have stayed home. Third there is always going to be hater or haters around when something like a big movie or viseo is being made. Those people right there are just thinking of themself. I highly doubt that the staff was rude to any of the students there, unless they were rude or being some where they were not suppose to be at. Chrystina, I've been out of high school 19 yrs and my high school was being remodeled and I was floored when I walked into the new school and how long it had taken to remodel the place 3.5 yrs. 2 days is nothing! This young lady needs to get a grip!
Ohmygod!! Give it a rest..If they were at my school causing commotion I would be very pleased!!!! I would kill for them to film here..My goodness, she needs to chill!!!
Hahahaha…LMAO, so funny, and probably true
I agree with you. The school administration should have only let them film there on weekends or at least after school hours. I'm sure the students had some type of Spring BReak or something when the filming crew would have been in there. Unless they used the students as extras…which I'm fairly certain they can't do without parental consent, which they may have.
And set stalking at a school is rather ridiculous. Some respect for the kids would have been nice.
I'm sure the students had no lasting effects from it. They still got their classes in. Maybe it was harder to focus and gave them a topic of conversation for a while, but eventually it's just going to be a story to tell to their friends at college. I'm sure they're all going to be fine, even if they were inconvenienced. Besides, I doubt the crew could have even filmed there if they hadn't gone through all the red tape. I doubt filming at a school is an easy task, there had to be even more people to get permission from than the school itself. And no amount of money can make them let something detrimental be done at a public school.
All in all, I understand why this girl is frustrated, but she'll calm down when everything is back to normal and the hype died down. And the school is going to get some pretty cool rennovations after all the money they just made, I'm sure. (Which will be an added inconvenience while they do that…because they built a new wing at my school when I was in HS and it was a giant pain)
This is super random, but I REALLY like how you spell your name.
oh I know .. a high school's student's schedule being changed because of a movie .. how dare they.
Its only 2 days. Its completely ok that she is upset, that is her choice. I can't tell someone how they should feel. BUT to go running to the Newspaper about it? hilarious.
Okay, in a way i can see their point it must be annoying to have your school taken over by a HUGE film crew, but on the other hand OMGOMGOMG! NEW MOON being filmed AT your school, out of all the schools in the world they chose urs! its an incredible experience plus what about all them actors? super wow! x
probably not a fan or trying to be coy thinking that if she complains she may get something out of it…i.e. 'oh we are so sorry for the inconvenience we cause you and so …here's tickets to the the premier!' Yeah I know unlikely to happen but maybe she thinks it worth a shot because it could happen…..
dude this chick needs to get over herself and shut up its just two days for a lifetime of happiness to fans! what ev. i wouldnt complain if they were at my school!
IS THIS GIRL CRAZY?!?!? Its only for 2 days, suck it up! Seriously!lol. If they were filming at my skool, I'd go crazy with happiness!! haha.
I know how she feels. A few years ago a movie was shot at the university I attended and it turned the school into complete chaos. We couldn't get to classes, the film crew were all assholes, and everytime we came within 50 yards to get to class they would yell at us and scream “quiet on the set.” It was finals week too so it was aweful! I swear if one more person on crew told me to be quiet I was going to punch them in the face. It's really awesome at first but it gets old just as quick.
I would be sooo mad if that happened!!lol.
I agree! hehe.
I agree! Stupid student who doesn't know anything!
the only thing I agree with her are the outside stalker fans
But the rest is BS boo hoo 2 days give me break I HATE whinners
Wow… so many going against the teenager… maybe she was going through some rough times, give her a break guys!!
The crew being mean? That's not right, I mean yea I would extremely happy that they would film any of the Twilight Saga movies @ my college (yea, I wish) but some kiddos just have rough times and for strange ppl to be rude or mean just doesn't make it better for them ya know?
But it was two days so I hope she's feeling better now!!
If the parents and students should worry about anything its how the money from the school being rented out for production is being put to good use. I wouldn't mind a couple of days of chaos if the school profited well, and put the money used back into my education! Schools around my area are being shut down because of depleted funds. It should be made public how much the school made in order to see it properly distributed throughout the school system and not abused and hidden away. There should be scholarships put in place.
MEEE TOO! & I hated HS, but for Rob, Hell yes!! haha.
Your right, I give the girl props for caring about school so much. I knew so many when I was in school that never gave a rats behind. The school is in the wrong. Hopefully the profits from this are being used properly.
You know what? I've never even thought of it that way! That school would have gotten money for the film being shot there. So honestly, looking at it from the perspective as well .. it is worth the inconvenience
If they would shoot it at my school, I'd be in 7th heaven, lol. And plus to have 2 days off from learning, haha.
That is true, but if it is a contract would have been laid. That means the school fully intended to have summit shoot the movie on two school days. That would make the school irresponsible. It would still be worth any inconvenience if it was shot on weekends? So what was the difference and why was it made that way? I can imagine it was stressful walking to class and being yelled at by crew members to walk around your own school. So the school board purposely let it happen when they knew kids would be interested in getting a peek. Could you imagine have to use the restroom and being told you couldn't because they were shooting a scene too close to the restrooms, and you were told to hold it?
Thats so true, Hey maybe they got “A new Cullen wing in the Library” *Bellas mocking in Eclipse* LOL
What girl in high school is so uptight about her education that she was in misery for two whole days? It seems to me like she'd rather have the attention she's getting from letter to the editor…ya think? After all, I'm sure plenty of students have written in about how awesome it's been. Hopefully, this won't keep her out of Harvard…snicker…snicker…
Are you seriously complaining about two days that you could not sit at the lunch table and gossip about the “it” couple for two friggin days? come on now, so you had to take a longer route to class, get over it…
When people are jealous of others they seem to lose there sensitivity chip. This subject has become a bigger issue on the girl complaining then the facts and the responsibility of the school system. I wouldn't want anyone on here that blames the girl to be my parents, who wouldn't stick up for my rights to have a calm and sound education. The point of going to school is to learn what you need for the real life, not to shoot a movie. Every student has a right to an un-disruptive education its written in most all school handbooks. The money should be used in scholarships for the students of the school.
You are so right she need to be happy and stop acting like a butt hole for real.
If it was me i would be happy they were at my school because i would be to school early on the day's they would shoot
LOL, if were me, 10 years ago, back when I was in high school,
I would have just ditched for 2 days, lol.
I didn't care about school at all! It seems a little foreign to me to see a teenager actually care about school, good for her.
I really was thinking that all teenagers would have a completely opposite reaction, either ditching or spending so much time trying to peek in on the set that they were getting in trouble.
I can understand the irritation. I thought it was going to be so much fun to have a movie filmed in my home town. Not so much.
I understand that the crew has a schedule to keep, but they were really rude about things. Traffic was held for miles because they were filming them crossing the street and had to get it “just right.” You couldn't cross the street on foot if you weren't a chosen extra. Stores had to close because they set up equipment directly in front of the entrances.
I'm still excited to see my town in a movie, but that was a really obnoxious week. I couldn't imagine how angry I would have been if they interrupted my education.
Not everyone goes crazy over celebrities and not everyone is a Twilight fan. Does everyone have to bow down to these people? No the world does NOT revolve around them.
IT's your schools fault not the moive. They rented out the space and I'm sure got paid good.
complain to them.
So your saying even though the movie knew about it too it doesn't make it there fault either? That's stupid. That's like saying well i seen that old person cross the road in front of the car but it wasn't my problem so I let her get hit by the car! Just an example I don't mean to compare life and death over this but its a lot like that.
I mean I love The Twilight Saga and movies too guys. There's just no reason to be so rude and snarky about the whole thing! What happened to supporting your fellow girl and all? She never said she wasn't a Twilight fan just that it was great in the beginning and got a bit horrible over time.
Everyone that keeps being rude and mean about all act like there riding the crimson wave together!
this little punk needs to shut up!! she should be happy they picked her school to film at, besides the school is not the students property and im sure the film makers payed good money to be in that school for 2 days, so they should be able to do what they want.. and like i said before if your not a twilight fan GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS SITE!!! YOUR NOT WANTED HERE!!!!
krladybugg290: grab a pad and take a seat! No one said we weren't fans! We all just don't lick and suck on our Edward pillows at night.
Thats funny coming from a girl who actually uses her full frontal face picture for your icon.
Actually if she was upset during the 2 days of filming now, think about what this kid is going to say if they use the same school for the filming of Eclipse, maybe someone should write to that school and tell them to send the kids on a mini vacation or field tripem out, surely they could afford to send across their own country to say Niagra. but i do agree she shouldn't have gotten so upset. I live in Tennessee and nothing like that ever happens here, it was a honor that their school got chosen and she should relish in that accoplishment that when the movie comes out she can say hey i got to school there, isn't that kewl.
there should be more in the story because she is talking about her breaks and lunch time not in the moment of classes, that they are interrupting.. in my case even if they were filming hannah montana movie(which i don't like) it would still be a blast, like you are watching famous people. even if she is not a twilight fan(not everybody has to like it), they are from Hollywood in your school.
Why do you say that? I use my actual image for anything I'm on. Nothing wrong with that.
I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying there. What I meant was that I was agreeing with what 2ylite was saying that the girl could have just been trying to get attention. Using my own image for my icon is not the same thing.
yo, um…calm down, gosh they're only fiming for a while, not forever, so u can shut up and rest! JEEZ DON'T HAVE TO BE A DRAMA QUEEN ABOUT IT! AT LEAST THEY'RE PAYING UR DAMN SKOOL FOR IT! so u can shut up and be queit about it! phagitt!
Are you sure about that?
2 days
Yeah, actually, I am. I'm just showing myself in my icon, who I am. I'm not trying to get attention of any sort. Why is this such a big deal to you?
“Skool”, “queit” and “phagitt”????! Looks like a lot of people on here should have stayed in “Skool” and took extra classes. However many school days you missed has been a discredit to you and society.
I'm just doing what everyone else is and commenting on the articles. No personal gain here.
hey look, if i were u, i'd be with my best friends tryin to sneak pics of the celebs and being mega happy bout it….i'm REALLY OBSESSED about Twilight so i'd be satisfied by just being in the same room or breathin the same air, so SHUT UP!!!!!! I WISH THEY WERE IN MY SCHOOL!!!
How dare u call people phagitt, do u know what that word means?
Obviously don't know how to spell it.
What makes her not wanting her day disrupted equivalent to her being gay?
And why do you have to gay bash to express your point on how you fell?
And why do you not know how to spell a simple word like school?
Grow up.
Are you still in school? Or at least have a spell check?
Your getting awful worked up over a comment I made judging you. When you have spent a few hours judging a girl in school whom you don't know. I don't remember seeing a picture with the girls face. So it couldn't be a “look and me” syndrome.
Besides all I am doing is commenting just like you are. I have no personal gain either. Anyway I couldn't see what I could gain by commenting on you being ironic. Just being perseptive. Does that bother you?
After reading some of your other comments, I do agree with you on a couple of things, but the student did seem to be complaining about something that really shouldn't have bothered her that much. I can understand if it were major construction or something or if she had to miss days of school because of the filming. The truth is that there could possibly be more to it than just what the article reported.
I know I wasn't trying to be rude, but in the scheme of things, that really is a small thing to complain about. So I'm sorry if I've miss-informed you in anyway.
I wasn't saying you were trying to gain anything either. I'm not getting worked up about it, but trying to set the record straight.
I think it's more that the movie people don't HAVE to care about the students. That's the school's job. As a courtesy, the crew should have been concerned with the students but they were there to film some shots not worry about the kids.
If they would have done the filming on the weekends then they could have better supervised and kept unauthorized persons out of the school when they were filming. With how much Twilight has been pushed into the spotlight it was pure stupidity that no thought was given into the depth and magnitude of security for the production and filming of New Moon.
To say it was the fans responsibility is silly. With hundred thousands upon hundred thousands of fans there is no expectation for etiquette. As proven on this website fans will do and say what they please even if it is rude or out of turn.
Very well put.
The best thing would have definitely been to give the kids a few days off from school or film on the weekend. I can't imagine they got much studying done in those two days what with all the excitement. I'd be pissed if I were a parent because after all, they're in school to learn.
ya i agree
She probably meant that they are d-bags LOL. Not that they make bad films.
I can understand the frustration. I attended a school where a number of movies were being filmed and it was frustrating having to reroute my regular schedule so I wasn't interrupting the filming, especially since I was paying to be there. But, I just found a new route and kept my head down. Occasionally I'd walk through a set if I wasn't paying attention and, well…they yelled, but what can you do?
I think that person was spelling those words like another commentor did. But I do agree with you that they are being rude.
ome! i would give anything to be in ur shoes….. well while they are on set. but anyway u should be thankful your school was chosen
She is just expressing her own view. She said herself it was school at first. But I would be mad if my routine and studying was screwed, movie or not. It's my senior year, and no one is messing with that. It would be just as cool if they filmed on a weekend or break.
I do agree that they should've done the filming on the weekend, when the students weren't there. I had posted that earlier.
I hope that your comment wasn't directed at me. Like I said, I wasn't trying to be rude. Oh and the thing I had said about the whole “look at me” sydrome thing, I had said that was a possibility, not that she was actually like that. Sorry I keep defending myself on that, but I don't like leaving things like this unresolved. Who honestly knows what really went on.
How is producing a major international movie not like construction? I've seen plenty of pictures proving otherwise. I've seen pine trees brought in 20 or more. When filming equipment has to be constructed. Those blinds that they used at the Jacob house took two days to build. I am sure the same were built at the school to blind students from viewing and taking pictures. Besides the fact they only filmed two days, how long did it take to remove all the equipment or set it up? Lights, cameras, tracks for the cameras to sit on, food and rest stations for actors and crew, an area for the director to review film, the sound crew….. on and on I can go.
I am only so serious about this because people don't take the time to understand what others go through. Its disturbing to think people can be this uncaring.
When I was in high school we had an old heating system( I sound like I am old but I am only 25). This system would turn on during the hottest days of our school year. It would be 90 outside and the heaters were near the windows, so the windows would be left open and we would get a gust of hot air in the face. During the winter they were broken. While this was going on the Treasurer was swindling the school systems money away.Money that could have went to updating the heating system.
I wrote a letter in the paper about it. It was hacked to pieces to make my letter and concern seem idiotic. I was then criticized throughout my school and branded as a fool.
People who cut others down for standing up for there rights and beliefs are unjustified. This girl had a concern and believed she was right in thinking that it should have not went on this way in her school. I salute her for saying what is on her mind and in her heart. For standing up for what she believes in this will cause her harm. As proven here more then enough people are against her for it. Its wrong to not support anyone with the right to care about not only her well being but others.
If we didn't stand up for the small things they will turn into BIG things. Big things are harder to fight for.
Ya I agree with Kat. It would be cool but I mean come on, seriously, during school isn't that cool at all. During a weekend or break, like Kat said, is good for me. It's my senior year too and no one is messing that up. So I agree.
Really how old are you guys, because your jumping all over this KID for having an opinion? On a plus side hopefully the funds the school got do go to good use.
I do agree with you there, and you do make an excellant point about how much the production and filming may have disturbed them. And you are right, people may not take that into account, because they aren't there.
You are a good debator, you could be in politics
As for all the other stuff, are we cool on this?
what the hell? wow, selfish biotchh! get over it and be freaking happyy!
I am not mad at you I just want my point heard. I mean I don't know you personally. I just want people to be more open to the possibility's.
I was replying to xxobsessedxx
Wow, this is the first “letter” I've actually paid attention really. You are quite the funny gal! Nice. . . love it!
Hilarious . . . . and so true! I'm sure it was a great pay off.
Dear PMS-ing student,
Maybe you'll stop whining when you get, I don't know, MILLIONS of dollars pumped into your towns economy when the movie is wrapped? Go take a Midol and chill out.
The biggest movie of 2009 is being filmed in your crap school… be happy and suck it up for the few weeks that they're filming.
OMG seriously this studdent needs to CALM THE *beep* DOWN. I know education is very important to life. But it's only 2 days! Even if she wasn't all happy for the fact that its NEW MOON being filmed at her school…she should think about how much money the school would be getting for this. And somehow she'd benefit from that (books & supplies…etc ) since she's so worried about school and what not. And besides she needs to quit complaining about the film crew, their doing their job and they paid for it…so just make the damn detour and get to class. AND that would be my 2 cents. Thanks =)
“The biggest movie of 2009 is being filmed in your crap school… ” LMAO seriously!
No personal attacks please!
I wonder if she will see any of that “money” or if it will be used in her future education like college? If she flunks she can always blame it on Twilight.
Seriously, no using profanities like that man. It's not cool at all.
LOL, Chrissy I like how your picture looks up at her comment after writing how you like her name.
That's funny!
dude, i would be so stoked. ungrateful.
I would kill for new moon to be shot in my school….what is wrong with you student?! lol
so very true….she is only a kid……I do wonder if they got the any autographs…….
um whAt was this girl thinking
if i was her i would be so happi that my favorite book was being turned into a movie ……AND SHOT AT MY SKOOL!!!!!!!!!….
AHH some people are just not greatful for wat they have
It wasn't even funny the first time you did it, okay?
ur lame and so are the people who think what you just wrote is funny.
You just sound like an 8-year-old
get better jokes
Sorry I didn't intend it as a attack. It was a honest question to find out the nature of her comment. I can't tell how her comment is motivated by the subject. Her age and the area she lives in greatly proves or disproves the point she is trying to come across. Only someone of a younger age would advise a school to take its students on a expensive invasive trip to ease the burden of students because a company is filming at a school. It's hard to tell because she spells cool, kewl. That and accomplishment is a very easily misspelled word and spell check is normally installed on most computers.
There are plenty of others on this blog that say thing that provoke an attack. They just misspell bad words to by pass being caught.
I can't be serious all the time.
I missed the joke.
school.
what.
happy.
please stay in school, lol.
She is canadian…. Totally kidding!!!
Hey movie crew….
Wanna halt things at my school for a couple of days and let hot guys walk around? It’s totally cool with me. I mean you guys can even act like you own the school if you wanna. It’s not like I can’t chill and let a great movie be made instead of taking a trig test. Hey, want an extra in some random scene? I’m down with that, too. And don’t worry, if you are a little rude, I’ll understand. I won’t run my mouth for attention.
exactly! it's only two days.
i wouldn't want to be her friend.
I agree. Its just not right. There are people that are part of the problem, and there are people that stand and watch the problem take place and do nothing. Either way isn't the right way.
Maybe she should be complaining to the school board as I'm sure the crew payed a lot of money to “own” your school for the shooting.
if I was paying a bunch of money to make a movie I'd expect people who are on “my” set to stay quiet as well.
Stop your whining
Well I guess there are a lot of lame ppl on here !:D
Thanks for your input. I'll put it right over here in my ___ __ folder! Spanks!
I am glad that I am not the only one that bothers. Especially when the subject is about education.
BTW you needed to add…. …….Don't do drugs.
The way you worded it I can only imagine your voice deep and sultry sipping Chardonnay like “Hey, baby wanna take a ride on the soul train?”. The “Hey, want an extra in some random scene? I’m down with that, too.” sounds like something that the school won't allow. Actually this whole letter sounds obscene.
actually, zac efrons 17 again was filmed at my high school. i wouldve muchh rather tiwlight be shot there-lol. :]
I don't believe that saying “don't do drugs stops” anyone.
You have to tell kids the truth about drugs not just don't do them.
But I get what you mean
I think the student has a valid point. They did say that it was cool at first, and they said nothing bad about the cast. They just said that they didnt like how the crew like took over the school like they owned it.
Think about it… the students were probably never allowed to see the cast, and they were probably told to shutup or yelled at by the crew if they did stuff wrong or whatever.
I'd be kinda pissed too.
Sure I'd want to meet Rob and Kristin and the others, but not really the crew lol.
Oh. Sorry. There have been a couple of girls on here today being very rude to some of the other posters…..I get your point!
LMAO! Neither can I.
LOL. Probably.
Wow. That was rude. It was a joke. Not a big deal.
Okay, whoever this girl is. I'm going to hunt her down at school tomorrow. Seriously, she can't speak for me. I loved it when the Twilight cast was there. Those past two days were the greatest moments of my life. I'll love it if they came back to film Eclipse. I wouldn't mind sacrificing a few things such as walking in the hallway and eating at the cafe to have one of the most anticipate sequel of the year film at my school. Seriously, could she be more rude? She's giving our school a bad reputation.
Omg, it's just terrible that they shot probably the biggest movie of the year at my school!!
Omg two days was just too long. Omg, my schedule was changed too!
It was the worst 2 days of my life!!
Having celebs walking around.. just awful.
And I got yelled at too… MUMMYY!!!!!!!!!!
..New Moon is my favourite book, and probably going to be my favourite movie.
Yeh, she doesn't have to like it.. BUT COMMON.
That kid needs to quit whining. She doesn't know how lucky she is.
She should think of us poor people living in New Zealand, that don't see celebs EVER.
If that was shot here, it'd be on the news for weeks.
Quit whining, shes lucky, but she complains.
“She should think of us poor people living in New Zealand, that don't see celebs EVER.”
LOL
I meant it funny like a Saturday Night Live skit with that dude and the afro. I can't remember his name though. He would always sit and talk with the Hookers and sip whiskey. I think Heather Graham play in a skit once.
gee that sure cleared that up!
lol
Wow. If people really want to make somewhat intelligent and educated comments, they need to see both sides. There is no point in blasting the girl if you have not stepped into her shoes for a moment. As I senior high school student, I understand stress. As a gigantic Twilight fan, I understand the hype of an amazing movie being filmed at my school (hypothetically). But, after all is said and done, I care a little more for my education. What if those two days just happened to be test days for her? It seems as though not much consideration was taken for the students beyond their well being for lunch, so her frustration isn't unfounded. If I had been told to move this way or travel that way, or if I didn't have access to a certain area I was used to having access to – if even for one day – I would be a little frustrated. Sure, maybe her reaction (sending a letter) got a little more attention than it's worth, but who are you to call her stupid or dumb? D:
Many Twilight fans continually show the world that the fandom has many rude people backing its success. We don't want to portray that, so just try to phrase your words carefully. (:
Sorry about the spelling, but I was in a hurry. What I was really talking about was the point that if that was the highschool that I went to as a kid they would have found someway to make sure that the filming would not have disrrupted our daily routine. I do admit though that a field trip might be going a little too far, but aleast they should have made some other type of arrangments on behalf of their students.
your right! how ungrateful!!!
You do make an excellant point. I've been trying see both sides of it. I guess since I'm no longer in high school, two days just seemed silly to complain about. But I do agree that maybe those two days could've been test days for the students. Like I had said in one of my other posts, there could very well be more to the story that what the article stated. I do feel sorry for this student with everyone being so mean to her about it. I know I wasn't intending on being that way. This whole thing has gotten way out of hand.
tweter can you delete these next two messages for me, i didn't mean to post so many times. i was trying to post and then it asked me to sign up for disquis or however it is spelled sorry again. shouldn't happen again.
When I get to work I'll take care of it!
thanx
I actually agree with you. I mean, it was only 2 days but all the same . . .it would be very disruptive. Not all people are as “mature” as some of the people who post on here obviously and it might really bother some kids. And not everyone is a Twi-pire!
Well said . . . .
You said exactly what I'm thinking. I particularly appreciate your last sentence . . . it is very true, unfortunately. And it's kinda sad when grown women attack high school students for expressing their own opinion about something that was going on in “their world.”
Exactly! While I love the Saga and am stoked about the movie . . . I know not everyone shares my love for them. Who am I to call anyone “whiny” or “ungrateful” just because they don't appreciate the same things I do? It's just not cool . . .
taken care of!
and by the way . . . it's pretty cool that you are a guy . . . 31 . . .and a fan of the Saga!
HOLY CROW . . . that's a great post! Thanks!
yea, that's what I was saying! I'm an obsessed “Twi-pire” hehe… but I also understand that not EVERYBODY is so I give her credit for caring about school ya know?
=]
Agreed!

I love robert pattinson!!!!
I think I could handle two days… its TWILGHT!
Dam I wish I lived in Vancouver… I think the Twilight cast should visit Ontario… just cause. ;D
i think everyone needs to chill out no need to attack a high school student for talkin about her experiance im sure it was annoyin but if i was in high school i wouldnt care anything that would make it not so borin even if i couldnt eat the nasty school lunch would be fun
omgggggggggg how can you? wa? gah!
omg! i would be like
OMFG
tuewhtuawhauhgeuhner
the twilight cast….at my school…
shouldnt get too carried away with my dreams butt….
I WISH I WENT TO THAT SCHOOL
AND I LIVE ON THE OTHER FREAKING SIDE OF THE WORLD!! nooo
hahhahah so i agree.
i live in australia
i know how you feel….hah
I'm with you LM. “Waaaahhhhh, I had to walk AROUND the cafeteria between 2nd and 3rd……………..” Smack!
Wait a sec… You didn't get in on any Lord of the Rings action. They were in NZ for like 3 years weren't they?
Oh you crazy kids…….. : )
One must consider the production schedule also. Perhaps they were scheduled to shoot on a weekend or off day, but often the schedule changes because of technical reasons. It's hard to believe that Summitt had intended to disrupt the school any more than necessary. And let's face it… there are rude people in any workplace setting. It's life – move on and try to find the positive – that school will go down in cinematic history. People will continue to spend $$ in that area for years. They travel to see where it all happened and that city will have revenue for years as a result. So there! : )
I actually have to agree with you.
I know wat it is like with detours and everything cus my school is going under construction and it is a pain the butt to walk around the whole entire campus to just get to the other side of the school.
I also live in Vancouver and just the other day, the new moon peoples were shooting one of the character's house rite across my school (i do NOT go to David Thompson BTW). I wanted to see them so bad but i missed them unfortunately. They were shooting really early in the morning…like 7am or something. At least my friends got a few pics of RPattz tho!
oh and for those who wanna go star hunting…
tonite and maybe tomorrow, you can try finding them in Coquitlam underneath one of the bridges. Apparently that is where they are shooting now.
if you are lucky, try catching the cast at starbucks on Robson. They go there really often.
Good Luck!
Two whole days!!! Geez!!! You poor thing! Bring it on!!! I don't know about everyone else, but I'm pretty sure I could put up with in.
