Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart’s “Secret Movie” About Themselves

200904280724.jpg New Moon stars Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed are working on a secret movie. It’s not quite as exciting as you may think, as it’s actually a movie which is a school project of Nikki Reed’s brother for film school at UCLA called The Glorification of Celebrities.

“I think fans with be able to see this,” she said of the flick, which the Reeds expect to graduate beyond the little-seen world of student films. “I am trying to be as involved as I possibly can. I think ‘Twilight’ was a wonderful thing for him to use [in the film], because it escalated quite quickly. It went from being this little tiny book series that none of the actors really knew anything about to this explosion that happened somewhere around the summer [of 2008]; I started walking outside and people started yelling ‘Rosalie!’”

“My brother has been following that,” she explained. “And it’s great because I know Kristen [Stewart] and he gets to speak with her. And he has a reason to travel with me now.”

“He has been interviewing a lot of fans as well,” she said of “Glorification,” which will focus not only on “Twilight” stars, but also on what fame does to other overnight sensations in Hollywood. “There is a Nikki Reed’s Mafia group [that will be in the doc] – and if you guys are watching, thanks. Because they show up everywhere with signs.”

I wonder how honest the documentary will be? If it actually features the unfiltered thoughts of Nikki and Kristen, I’m all in.

    Just another way for Nikki to get her fame out and push it out on others (like her family). Seriously, be humble and stop advertising every little crapping thing that you're in. It's like she calls people and says, "Hey I'm going to be in this doc, you should do a write up on it."

    Sorry, there's just something about her fame loving that drives me up the wall. And Twilight was only a small book to the actors in the films, many fans of the book were fans LONG before the movie.

    Exactly. the "tiny series" comment really got into my nerves..I thought it's kind of disrespectful. just because she didn't get to know about these books before she was cast doesn't mean they were that "tiny" and unknown. And I think she isn't entitled to talk about any of the other cast members like that cuz for example and as far as I know Ashley greene was a fan of the series way before she even knew about the movie making.

    it came out in 2005! She cant just claim it was tiny because most of
    the cast hadnt heard of it before they were cast for there roles.
    It just makes her seem arogant, like the series was nothing before
    the movie came along and she did this huge thing to provoke it into
    what is now. Rosalie isnt in there much until the third&last book. I mean the movie did help twilight boost into stardum but to fans who knew of the books before movie trailers hit television screens, then i'd bet they find that offensive.

    I think this site would still exist...and I'm ok with sites advertising their projects, but the difference with this one is it seems as if Nikki interviewed herself and then submitted it.

    I would like to see her unfiltered thoughts, this article just rubbed me the wrong way, that's all.

    I agree in a way, but I have to say as far as boosting things for a family member.. not sure I see too much wrong with that. Fame is certainly all about who you know. If I were famous, I'd be trying to get my brother and his music recognized a little more widespread. He's worked hard and if I could pull a couple strings, I would.

    As far as the tiny series comment.. yeah, agree that sucked. More of a fan of the books here. They were incredibly popular even before the movie came out.

    I dont know why...but there is just something about Nikki Reed that totally rubs me the wrong way. I mean with Ashley Greene...you can tell she is a great and amazing person. I mean it just comes across when she is speaking at locations or during an interview. But with Nikki Reed...I just get the whole...blah feeling. I mean...she could be a totally nice person in real life...but I dont see it.
  • I agree w/ you! And I would just like to point out - I didn't like Nikki Reed before Twilight .. so this isn't because of Rosalie.

    Every other cast member, when they are meeting fans, getting their pic taken. Seems to be happy, smiling etc .. Nikki just doesn't seem happy to be there. Like its an inconvenience to her. Once in awhile, you'll get a smile, she somewhat looks happy, but thats it.

    I just don't like her. No one can change my mind about it, thats just how I feel! I'm not bashing her .. just stating how I feel.

    I remember the video posted a few days ago with Peter Facinelli got out of the car to hug the fans that waited for the birthday scene to finish filming. I was so touched by that..that he seriously seems like an amazing person (plus I have liked him for a while now). But then Nikki Reed got out of the car and hopped over like "Oh my I am so pretty and fun...dont I look like a goofy friendly person...tee hee". I just wanted her to get back in the car and stay there.

  • See .. I don't find her beautiful at all! Sure, in character she looks great .. sure after make up artists have had their way w/ you and you've been airbrushed. But to see her out, raw, and natural .. I'm sorry, but I just don't see what the big deal is! She's got WONDERFUL teeth (thanks to whitening and probably veneers). And she does have beautiful eyes ... but she isn't gods gift. And she acts like she is!

    I felt they could have casted someone much better looking. I mean I remember hearing that she complained about having to have her hair bleeched. You signed the contract...you knew what was going to happen. I mean...I remember reading Freddie Prince Jr saying he hated having his hair bleeched for Scooby-Doo...but he knew it needed to happen and he did it.
  • I will say though .. the wig looks MUCH better! Her colorist for Twilight should have been fired! That was a horrible dye job! lol

    But yes, its a part of what you signed up for. You do it, and shut up. Speaking of the Prinze's .. Sarah Michelle had her hair VERY blond for Buffy, then had to color it dark brown for Cruel Intentions. She wanted to keep it brown for a bit after, but Joss Wheadon said NO, because Buffy is NOT a brunette. So she had to go straight back to bleach, which probably was pretty hard on her hair. But she didn't it, because that was a part of what she signed on for .... you didn't hear about it all through the news. I think she joked about it a bit, maybe, but I can't recall exactly.

    The wig does look like a better option...at least this way there arent any roots that will ruin a scene.

    There are several people who do a lot worse things then dye their hair and dont complain about it. I remember reading on the "trivia" tab on imdb for Jennifer Garner that during Elektra...the main bad guy slit her knuckles with his sword/weapon. She patched her fingers up and went back to do that scene...only to get cut again in the same exact spot. Or the stunt doubles who dont get enough credit. Hair...now that simple. You sit there and someone else does it all for you.

    I think that just proves that she's totally embodied the character of Rosalie, AerosManders. Rosalie isn't a very likable character so I think Nikki Reed is probably a pretty good actress if she can make us feel like that about her!!

    I like em all! :) Looking forward to seeing how the documentary turns out - should be interesting to hear how the craziness really makes them feel. I mean, I can try to imagine what they go through, try to imagine people following me all over the place and screaming at me day and night, and the pap's flashing lights in my face everywhere I go, but you can't really fully appreciate what they're going through when you're not. I know lots of people say they should "expect" that when they make a choice to become an actor, but I don't agree with that. I think they deserve some privacy too. I'd like to think that I'd give them their space if I ever saw them, which unfortunately would mean missing out on meeting them. One time I was on a plane with Tom Selleck, and the stewardess said he said it would be ok to come ask for autographs, but I didn't b/c I was so scared he would feel crowded... wow, that was a really long tangent I did NOT mean to go on, but anyway!!! Looking forward to seeing this when it comes out! :)

  • I love how they are willing to be so honest. It should be pretty interesting and something I would want to watch. However, it will also be interesting to see how the Twilight fan based takes it. Especially if comments are made that aren't always full of praise toward the fans.

    I totally agree with you........its definitely going to be interesting!!! I think its cool that Nikki's brother is doing this for school and that they have allowed him to get into their heads about Twilight and everything that has come with it.

  • It's a project for her brother though. I have two younger brothers, and if it helped them in class I would do the exact same thing. I would do ANYTHING to help my brothers. She can't help the paps. They follow everyone like they're the dang secret service. They are like stink on crap. You can't get rid of them.

    I want someone to pin point an exact example of her wanting to be followed by cameras. Other than for her brother.

    exactly! if there is a midnight showing of new moon, i think i will not go because there will to many screaming kids! i can't handle 14 year olds screaming in my ear. i won't be able to fully appreciate the movie. i plan on going to the late movie on a saturday night or maybe sunday night. well im going more then once so we will see.     LOL ~ too funny! I think the first interview I saw him in was on the Today Show, and a friend of mine and I thought, he seems like he's on something... that was so long ago. Once I started seeing more of him and how he is in interviews I realized, he was probably just REALLY nervous! He's definitely hot. It's in his shyness too, that makes him hotter I think.

My parents moved to an area where we were the only indian family before I was born and my sister tells on her first day at school the kids in playground took her hand and responded with 'look she's white on the inside and black on the outside!' But if you let things like that effect you'll really have a messed up life.

    Yeah my parents sent me to an integrated school so there was people off all religions and race there, and there school symbol was one off a white dove for peace. So although I grew up with bitterness around me concerning religion I was never part off it because off the school I went to, I'm protestant and all my friends are catholic and that I'm really proud off, and I see the bitterness in this country the only thing that is holding it back. The only thing I refused to do was have my two children christened, because over here it's just a label. And I don't believe either so thats another thing as well LOL

    Ok, here's my 2 cents on Nikki. I'm not a huge fan of hers, like others have mentioned there is just something about the girl that rubs me the wrong way, but I dont hate her. Yes "thirteen" was as inspirational as it was an "eye openner" of a movie and kudos to her for co-writing (it was about her life). But millions (yes millions) of teenagers and younger, as well as adults go thru the same as she has and far worst and turn out ok as well. They just dont have the opportunity like she had (her dad dating a director) to write about it, tell their story or even get a movie deal from it. She is not the first and she definately wont be the last to have had a "hard life" and rise above it, this happens everyday.

    I have to agree with D...I mean Thirteen is one of my fav movies!! And I have to say I actually like Nikki, She is Kristen's Bff..I love Kristen so why not love Nikki..She's a great actreess!!! If ur a smart teenager, u will take this movie and apply it to what not to do..Unfortunatley some teens, take this movie and use ut as an example of what to do!!! I dont reccomend it for teens that are not capable of controlling themselves, when it comes to these things!!!!

My sister said that movie opened her eyes up to a lot where pre-teens and teens are concerned (my niece is 11). She maybe a media w*&>e but that movie has helped mothers and daughters through those tough times. For that I commend her.

    I was abit crazy when I was younger, not sleeping around or anything but I was out partying from when I was 16/17 (legal age over here is 18) but I was a bit out off control, I've took drugs, (nothing hardcore) I'm not ashamed to admit it but I wouldn't recommend it either. I think If I had off seen a film like that when I was younger it might off helped me, and I know now how to handle it if my girls ever go out off control, hopefully they won't but you can never tell. I had a very good up bringing and it didn't stop me from turning into a bit off a rebel. But I was always the black sheep and I didn't give my parents any reason to believe otherwise. Now we can look back and say "Remember when I done that".

    Yeah, my mom and I were just talking about this last weekend. She said it's best to let your kids rebel early so they don't experiemental rebelling in college. I never wen't through any kind of phase though. I really hope it skips me though! I don't have time for that! haha
    But making mistakes early and learning your lesson early is honestly the best thing you can do, I think.

    You probably won't go through it. Like I said, my siblings didn't. But their upbringing was a bit less strict than mine, enough to make a difference. The trick is to not make too big of mistakes with my own kids;) My oldest is 12 so we're right on the threshold and I know I won't do everything right but hope it won't be too extreme. Twilight has actually given us a great deal to talk about and we're closer because of it :D Which is part of why I love the saga so much. She and I both are big fans of Kellan and Alex. She adores Taylor also but I can't quite go there, he's a little young for me to look at, lol.

    I am not hating on Nikki, this is just my opinion:
    From all the cast, it has always seemed to me (from interviews and such), that Nikki is the one that least understands her character and just why we all love the series so much. All the cast, including Kristen Stewart, has grown to understand not only the essence of their character but also the role they play in the story and even why the story is so addictive and important. I think Nikki can be a good actress and I just hope she truly gets to understand her character deeper down. I mean we all know Rosalie is the most beautiful person in the world, yet she is unhappy with what she is. Yes that's surface of her character...but Nikki needs to dig deeper if she is going to portray a good Rosalie, especially as her role becomes more important in later books.

    The great thing about these movies is that there are enough actors/actresses in it that we don't have to like them all. There is also no rule saying we have to like them outside of the films. I happen to think they are all talented in their own right. I mean, maybe Nikki does put herself out there in the media but so does Kellan. I mean, he is all over the place. The difference is that he is a HOT guy. He can get by with it because we love to love him. Just like people love to hate Kristen and/or Nikki.

    I applaud her for making that movie about herself. She did something that many people don't have the balls to do. And I'm not going to hate on her for it. It's just one of those things we all have to agree to disagree on.

I happened to run across the book at Barnes & Noble the next week and picked up a copy. I was hooked after that. My point it...I never heard about them until the movie. Just like Harry Potter...I remember it being there...but didnt really notice it until it was made into a movie.

    I read James Patterson's "Maximum Ride" when it first came out. I heard they are making the story into a movie series...so I am waiting to see if they can pull it off. I am also interested to see if this book gets bigger. I mean Patterson is known for his thriller/murder mystery books...hopefully this will further him on the "young adult"/fantasy genre. The only other one I read was Harry Potter...but I havent finished it. I started when the first movie came out (believe it or not my Dad is the one that got me to read it). When the sixth was coming out...I pre-ordered it...and it is still sitting on my shelf...unread. So I really need to finish before the movies =P.

    Did you ever watch the show Dark Angel? Its kind of like that...but not to the T. Its about a group of genetically altered kids trying to escape their creators. They are humans but have angel wings (look like Angel from Xmen...or at least from what I can picture). Anyways...there is a lot more to it...but that is the rundown of it. I really enjoyed it.

    I dont hate her by any means. I honestly think hating people just takes too much effort...so I rare go that far. Anyways...I just...I dont know...her personality just rubs me the wrong way and seems superficial. I mean...I see a video with Ashley Greene in it and she comes across as this great person. You can tell she is genuinely happy to be there and appreciates that she got the chance. I just dont get that from Nikki Reed. As for Kristen...I think she just struggles with interviews and I cut her some slack. That my sound bias/opinionated/hypocritical...but I dont feel anything negative towards her. I mean...I wish she would show a little more enthusiasm for snagging the biggest part for the next four years...but other then that...nothing wrong.

    what is a blog if people cannot say there opinion on a subject in a respectful way. Really for me, if I cant post my opinion on something with out being attacked every time because people dont agree, maybe I should just read and not post.

    I think she's really pretty, maybe not the best for rosalie, i would preferred a natural blonde and someone totally gorgeous. But i think Nikki is soooooo much better as a brunette. I don't understand why so many ppl hate her, I love how her and Kristen have that 'I don't care what ppl think of me or how i dress' b/c I love the way they dress and stuff but i couldn't pull that off, i would just look homeless, it only works on the pretty ppl such as Nikki and Kristen.

    I am sorry I do NOT get the negativity towards Nikki Reed. So you do not like her, well that is fine but all this namecalling etc. I just do not get it, famewhore etc...I just think it is sad to do such namecalling to a person most of you probably never met or know in real life. She seems cool enough from the interviews I have seen of her. Maybe she is abit of an attention seeker but to me it seems like the rest of the castmembers like her so maybe that is just an assumption made by ppl too?

    I think it is cool of her to help her brother out, as for the "tiny book series" well Rob himself had never heard of this series before getting the role so to him too it was probably a "tiny book series". I had NEVER heard of anything called Twilight in my life until I started to see articles about this stuff in newspapers here in Norway. And at that point it was mostly the MOVIE that promoted the books, not the other way around. Unlike the Harry Potter series that has been well known for years.

    So I understand what she meant with this comment to be honest. Also I do think that the series overall got more worldwide recognition as this movie became such a huge hit.

    I would actually love to see this, looks interesting.

    I feel the same... I didn't read them until November. Heard about them but didn't care and didn't read them. From what I've seen of interviews, most of the cast didn't have a clue what they were getting into :)

    Well said... About the whole Nikki negativity issue... The Twilight movie did promote the books but I do think that the books did its part in promoting the movie as well. I myself went to watch Twilight because of my love of the Twilight series. I don't really know about HP though. I had never been a HP goer...

    Well in Norway it was definitely the movie that promoted the books. Sorry to say but I doubt that anyone had heard all that much about these books until the movie was out here. Other than by recommendation of friends etc. I frequently go into bookstores and I only saw these books out here at the time of Twilight the movie was released. I am not sure if all the 4 books have been translated into Norwegian yet. I never bothered to look for the Norwegian versions as I prefer to read English book in it's original language.:-). I am just saying that in many places of the world I do believe the movie promoted the books while in US and Canada too maybe it was the books that promoted the movie. It really doesn't matter cos the fact still is that the series is NOW no way near being a tiny book series lol. It is pretty huge indeed hehe.

    Twilight is no tiny book series of course! And i do agree with you that the movie did promote the books in most of the other countries beside US and Canada. But well over at my place, the books were out before the movie. And believe me! Many of the girls in my high school had a copy of Twilight. And probably almost all of them who have read the books had already watched the movie. :) That includes me! My friend dragged me into the Twilight world.

    There's nothing wrong in getting attention. If u had the chance to do that for your family, wouldnt you help them? there's nothing weird in that. I mean how many people out there forget about their friends, relatives, etc once they reach success and money... that's something to blame!.

    oh brother.....went fr/ a TINY little book series that the actors had never heard to an overnight sensation???? Pllllllease. Just because some of the actors in that movie never have picked up a book or don't know what's going on beyond whatever film set they are on doesn't mean it was a TINY book series. It was huge and I think it was pathetic that KStew admittedly did not read Twilight....Steph/Hardwicke should have insisted upon that. I loved Eddie Gathegi's attitude at The Comic Com Phenomenon event. He said "when I was picked 4 the role I did my HW like all good actors do and read the series." As far as the actors being 'tiny' b4hand I would agree w/ that and yes overnight fame is a tough, probably surreal experience but Nikki and KStew should follow RPattz's example....such a sweet, humble guy. Maybe Kstew 'struggles' w/ interviews but at least he doesn't look completely bothered and irritated when he's doing them. I hope Hollywood doesn't ruin him........staying in London as a permanent residence is probably the best idea 4 him. I know the papps are bad there too but it always seems as if your privacy is more sacred in Europe. He is quite possibly one of the sweetest, most humble, outstanding young actors our time has ever seen. I can't beleive how patient he is w/ taking fan photos/doing autographs etc. I know Kstew does it too but it always comes across w/ such an attitude.

    I'm so frusterated!!! I mean so what IF Nikki is promoting herself??? Really what if? Who cares! Don't go see the film her bother is doing. Celebrities endorse themselves all the time. If Rob's sister was doing this NO ONE would be up in arm about the situation. I have the distinct feeling that a lot, not all, but a lot of the female fans are Nikki and Kristen haters. And I believe it's jealously. And in regards to her comment about it being a "little series" it was not the media phenomena that it is today, so with that being said it was little compaired to what it is now. Every media outlet is on the Twilight band wagon and it wasn't like that before. The movies have broaden the books fan base. When the movie was coming out the book sales for Twilight, not Breaking Dawn went up so it was little incomparison.

    I'm tired of both Nikki and especially Kristin complaining about the fans and the downside of fame. This is more of the same. We get it - it's tough to adjust to such a meteoric rise. And it's definitely harder now with the internet and cable tv than it was 20 or 30 years ago when there weren't so many media outlets. But seriously - complain in private - suck it up in public - and here's a thought - TRY SMILING!!! And newsflash Nikki - books that are on the NY Times Bestseller list are not little tiny book series. I think they both come across as arrogant. They are young, if they plan to have a career, they both need to do some maturing and fast! Kristin's always played the awkward teen (close to her real life persona). She'll need to rock the Joan Jett role or she'll start experiencing backlash.

    Sorry Nikki defenders. There is a difference between saying she hadn't read the books or even heard of them, and calling them a "tiny book series". It is disrespectful and inappropriate. Sortof like biting the hand that feeds her. She acted the part well, although it was such a small part it didn't require alot of acting, but she was really physically wrong for the part (because of how dark she is she just can't pull off a pale blonde look - I actually think she is attractive). Also, I find it annoying that when interviewed she concentrates on her character being the "most beautiful girl in the world" as opposed to her character's personality. There is alot to be said about Rosalie's personality and the acting challenges inherent to that. The physical stuff is for the make up, hair and costume people to deal with.

    i agree with you on the character trait thing, im not hating or defending her. I am sure she is a wonderful person but like I said in another comment, she hasn't gone beyond the beauty surface of Rosalie. there is more to her than that. Everyone know Rosalie is supposed to be beautiful, Nikki needs to portray the hidden stuff too. her unhappiness with what she is, how she would kill to do things that humans can do but that she just cant..stuff like that. That is what truly makes Rosalie's character so interesting. Stephenie Meyer said it in an interview...even though Rosalie is unhappy with what she is, she is still supposed to be the best at it because that is just who she is

    I hope we'll see more of Rosalie in Eclypse when we start to learn more about her. So Nikki should get a better opportunity to shine in her role in that film. Though that opportunity will depend on what the scriptwriter does with her character, I guess.

    People making a big deal about someone they'll never get to know ( and if they ever do i bet they'd all giggle and kiss her feet and tell her how nice she is ). Sad to see people think they are superior because they've read the saga like 100 times ( nothing better to do i guess ) and so they have the right to say anything about anyone involved in it yeah :). This applies to anyone not only Nikki / KS... .You dont have to like everyone, that's common sense, but there are better ways to xpress that, no need to be offensive.

    K-Stewart also needs to learn how to do interviews, last year she was so bad, sorry but its true..... I hope this year she's grown allot and candle handle the media. there are girls allot younger than her that do a 20min interview allot better than her , other than that shes a nice actress ...

I give kudos to Nikki for trying to help her brother out... I mean, it's family and when it comes to family we all do what we can to help each other out right? If she has that on her side, I think it's pretty cool that she uses it... just my thoughts =]

    i abosolutly adore Nikki. shes so sweet and funny. shes not my picture perfect girl for rosalie...well shes not even close..but i still love her,they made a huge mistake in casting her for rosalie but the damge is done and i just cant see anyone taking her place.
    i think shes an amazing actress,WAY better than kristen.kristen has an akward acting way.but idk all i ask is for her not to mess up twilght movies.

    Wow...lots of heated passions here. Bashing is poor taste, however, when you're a media personality, it does happen. That's life and sadly it won't be changing anytime soon. The comments are the most interesting thing of all about this story. I've seen people go from "Don't be hating on *insert name*!" and in the next sentence be all "I hate Dakota!" When you're in the spotlight, you'll be judged, because that is just what is. The end.

    That all being said...I wish I could say that I cared about these two enough to care what their lives are like behind the camera. But alas, I do not.
