ET has posted yet another slightly modified teaser for the New Moon set visit and interviews due on Thursday. With all this hubbub before the show airs, I really hope Thursday delivers!
Melissa Rosenberg, scriptwriter for both Twilight and New Moon, has laid to rest rumors that Breaking Dawn is in an advanced stage of production, noting that she hasn’t written the script yet, nor has she received direction from Stephenie Meyer on how to proceed--
“The most I’ve heard from Summit is ‘re-read it and start thinking about it,’” says Rosenberg, who is completing her show-running duties on the fourth season of the Showtime series Dexter. More telling, she hasn’t yet received one of the manifestos Meyer famously puts together before Rosenberg begins turning one of her books into a movie. Another source is also skeptical that Summit is far along in developing a fourth film. “As far as I know, Stephenie was still having meetings asking, ‘Can we really make this into a movie?’”
Fans of Rosenberg’s adaptation of Twilight to the big screen will soon have the chance to buy a copy of the script and have have it signed personally by Melissa. She’ll be at the LA Times Festival of Books helping raise money for the Writer’s Guild Foundation this Saturday in Los Angeles. Full details can be found at the LA Times.
VancityAllie captured some great pictures of the elaborate setup for a portion of the Bella cliff dive sequence in New Moon which will likely be composited with with the beach scenes shot in Tofino. Allie has this info to share–
This set is where they are filming the special effects green screen scene of Bella’s Cliff Dive in La Push in New Moon. Kristen Stewart, Rachelle Lefevre, Taylor Lautner, and Rob Pattison were all filming at the secret outdoor pool location today (just for the one day).
In this scene, Bella jumps off the cliff, a flash of Victoria is seen in the background, and Bella plunges into the ocean and sees Edward’s “face” underwater. She is then rescued by Jacob.
The crew had set up a complex special effects scene at the public outdoor pool with a number of layered green screens set up high above the pool. They also used a number of cranes and rigs to help block out the direct sunlight (it was bright and hot today).
Where there’s a will, there’s a way. That’s the lesson the Nashville- and Mississippi-based Twilight hunters Sara and Leanne have proven after meeting not only Kellan Lutz, but also the holy grail of New Moon hotness–Robert Pattinson himself.
Autry and Bennett came to Vancouver using tickets that Leanne’s husband Chad won in a golf tournament. He gave up a planned anniversary trip to California to allow his young wife a chance to track and find Pattinson and the rest of the New Moon cast.
“He was super nice,” Autry said. “I still feel like I am going to wake up from a dream.”
After scoring pix with Pattinson, Danielov declared, “I can die now … peace at last.”
“She’s a great wife and she doesn’t ask for much so I wanted to do this for her,” said Chad Autry, who first contacted The Sun to get vampire hunting tips for Leanne.
Cameron Bright, who will play Volturi twin Alec opposite Dakota Fanning in New Moon, was interviewed by ET Canada. He says he’s “ready to be something else” by playing a vampire. Bring it on!
