One name was notably absent from yesterday’s official New Moon cast list–Billy Burke, who played Bella’s dad Charlie Swan in Twilight. Is this a sign that he won’t be back for New Moon? Not so fast, says MTV–
Before the rumors spread too far out of hand, however, we’ve got the scoop on some good news for Twilighters.
An inside source has confirmed to MTV that the veteran actor is indeed in the “New Moon” cast, and will be returning as Bella’s father. Despite Billy Burke’s omission from the press release, Kristen Stewart’s family will look exactly the same when they hit theaters everywhere on November 20th.
While at Jackson Rathbone’s concert earlier this week, New Moon’s Ashley Greene was spotted with Ian Somerhalder–or as I know him better, Boone from Lost. They make an absolutely adorable couple, and one witness said that “The two seemed really happy and kissed throughout the show”–which matches up with Allie’s description that they were dancing closely and “intimate and absorbed in each other in the midst of a huge crowd of Twilight fans.”
With the announcement of the official cast for New Moon yesterday, those of you who haven’t read the books in a while may be scratching your heads trying to remember who all these newly cast characters are. Well, never fear, as they two video refreshers will get you up to speed.
Charlie Bewley, set to play Demetri in New Moon, had a humorous one-liner on Twitter for all his new followers from yesterday–”Charlie bit me”. It’s a line from the hilarious YouTube video above, but also undoubtedly references his newfound Volturi-vamp status. Charlie, if you’re reading this, can you send me tons of photos? Your newfound Team Demetri fans are jonesing!

6’4″ Canadian actor Christopher Heyerdahl will play Volturi member Marcus in New Moon. Heyerdahl has previously worked on projects such as Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural and Smallville. Do you think he’s a good fit for the part?
Charlie Bewley, a newcomer from California London that lives in Canada, will take on the role of Demetri from the Volturi in New Moon. Not much info is available on the actor, but he definitely seems to have the look for the part! This seems to be a big break for Bewley, as around a month ago he tweeted “please let this be the last time I scandalously flirt with the bread line, dear lord”.
