200904261045.jpg Robert Pattinson has been drafted to star in a new Summit film called Remember Me. Summit, the studio behind Twilight and New Moon, will be presenting the movie to potential buyers at Cannes this year.

Pattinson is starring in Remember Me which is shooting this summer in New York while the actor is between Twilight sequels New Moon, which wraps at the end of May, and Eclipse, which starts in August.

Allen Coulter, the award-winning TV director (The Sopranos, Damages) who made his feature debut with Hollywoodland in 2006, is directing the film and Nick Osborne and Trevor Engelson of Underground Films (License To Wed) are producing.

Summit co-chairman and CEO Patrick Wachsberger wouldn’t go into too much detail on the plot but described the film as this generation’s Love Story. A female lead is in the process of being cast, while Rachel Getting Married writer Jenny Lumet has finished the latest draft of the screenplay.”

Allen Coulter previously directed another Twilight castmember–Peter Facinelli played a prominent role in Season One of Damages.  Remember Me sounds pretty intriguing….what do you think?

    omg....i hope this is R so we get some skin......from Rob that is!! I know I am in ♥ when I am even looking forward to Little Ashes. I never like to see a my 'crush' in a homosexual role but I will take him any way I can get him on screen-haha! I doubt he reads this s _ _ _ we post but can you imagine how scared he must be if he does?? I don't think there is an actor that has ever touched such a huge age difference as far as a fan base! He's got teens all the way to grandmas wanting to jump his bones!

    Didn't Rob say in the ET interview that he was working on a movie score as well? So he's doing 3 movies and music this year? Good looking, talented, and a hard worker. No wonder we're all loosing it here.

    OME! I went to see them but I was really late coz of damn basketball training which my dad would not let me miss. :[ I didnt meet them and we drove for like 3 hours. In the end we were like stalking them so we could get a glimpse and I did! YAY! And I cried! XD

    hmmm....modern day love story called Remember Me. Kind of sounds like Sophie Kinsella's (also wrote the Shopaholic series) book that is named "Remember Me?" and is about a girl who wakes up in the hospital and can't remember the last 3 years of her life. She awakes to find herself married to a very successful and handsome businessman and she herself has become a corporate big shot. But amongst this fairytale, a very adorable, disheveled architect (possibly Pattinson...?) drops a big bombshell on her when he tells her that her life is not what it seems and is full of secrets, schemes and intrigue. It is a great book and love story, and I would love to see it come to life on the big screen, especially if Rob has a part in it :)

  • Pretty normal I think...I have a cousin who was in a few movies (now in a UK soap) and he always said that the bactual filming part was the quickest and easiest part of a film...the real hard work comes in the post production phase.

    They said a couple of months ago there would be 2 months of filming....a 2 month break....and then filming Eclipse. They've had multiple film crews shooting various scenes the whole time. No worries!

    As you may recall, Summit Entertainment indicated that they were negotiating with Rob for a project called “Memoirs”. Screen Daily is now reporting Rob is doing the film, now entitled “Remember Me”.

    Don't think it's going to be an adaptation of the Kinsella novel girls. Do look up the previous posts by NMM.org where she explains it. In any event, I hope this will be a start to more movies from Rob, preferably not just romances!! I think he can be a very versatile actor and with the guidance of a good agent/manager can hopefully get meaningful roles.

    Hmm the book sounds funny but they said that Remenber Me was going to be like Love Story, not sure if most of you remenber that movie or were born around that time is about two college students that fall in love and the girl has cancer, to be honest I'm hoping that is based on the book.     i've read remember me and i think that if this will be a movie based on the book, a possible role for rob would be of eric- lexi smart's husband, who's shockingly beautiful, rich, charming, but lexi find out that she's not satisfied with her life with him,so they divorce and she finds the love of her life.

    I've heard that it is Memoirs project but they renamed it to "Remeber me".

    They talked about it on Pattinson Anomymous, they talked with someone who read the script.

    Since the screenwriter Jenny Lumet wrote the script for Remember Me, as well as Sophie Kinsella's previous movie adaptation based on her Shopaholic books--and that was also Lumet's first Hollywood project, it would seem incredibly tacky if they renamed a new work that had nothing to do with Kinsella's book to the exact same name, given those close ties.

    On "Confessions of a Shopaholic" Imdb page it says Tracey Jackson and Tim Firth wrote that screenplay.
    And Jenny Lumet wrote a screenplay for "Rachel Getting Married", they mentioned her initially for Memoirs.
    It's on Summit's news section:

    "Memoirs," based on an orignal screenplay by Will Fetters that will be rewritten by Jenny Lumet, who penned "Rachel Getting Married," tells of two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they struggle to deal with family tragedies.

    That's why I think it's the same project, Jenny Lumet was mentioned for both titles.. ..but I don't know...I'm confused now haha.

Interesting still though that they're taking a name of another romantic comedy type work that's relatively well known and using it. =)

    I was just infomed about it from before from Imdb forum. I wouldn't know anything about it if I didn't see it there.

    Yeah it is known, but I guess the title of that book isn't that unique.
    And he said in that ET interview that he is doing sort of a comedy but a very, very dark one. But who knows, everything is possible.

    On Imdb forum they have some theories, first it was Memoirs, now it's Remember me...it's like somebody will die...someone who writes those memoirs so that they will remember him haha...speculations never end.

    Can you just see now the leading ladies lining up to try to play opposite Rob? All I have to say is, please, let the lead lady be as modest and unconceited as Rob is. We need an actress who is subtle, beautiful and not overrated (Lohan, Duff, etc.). I actually think that Sigfried actress would be good. I can't picture him with anyone but Kristen opposite him right now, so it will be weird. Maybe Leighton Meester.

    there are two very interesting articles in pattinsonanonymous.com about somebody who read the original screenplay of memoirs by will fetters and w/c was retitled to remember be and rewritten by jenny lumet. she gave some hints about the storyline. am hoping they will change the title to something else :)

    I bet he'll write a love song for this one. Damn, he's so talented and so not your typical ego-driven star. He's so modest and seems to take all this in stride, even though I can tell by his interviews he's overwhelmed at times. I hope he gets all the accolades and recognition he deserves but I hope he can have his peace of mind and time for himself sometimes. He went from no one knowing him hardly to a phenomenon from Twilight and he's still has to ride this through for at least two more Twilight movies, if not three. All this notoriety and invasion of privacy and rumors could drive the most sane person into a nervous wreck. I just think he's a class act and I will definitely see this movie because of his suberb acting and how he has the ability to portray such raw emotions on screen that I haven't seen in years from someone so young.

    Pattinson Anonymous is correct. I don't think this is an adaptation of a book. It's an original screenplay. The original name was 'Memoirs'' and Summit has renamed it to 'Remember Me.' I believe this is the 'dark' romantic film Rob mentions in the ET video.

It seems a bit tacky if the project had nothing to do with Kinsella yet they changed the title of the film to match a well known book that has nothing to do with it, given that the screenwriter got her big break from that very author.

I know her more for her screenwriting work on Rachel Getting Married. Jenny is doing a re-write or new draft of this screenplay for Summit. It was originally written by Will Fetters. This is going to sound cheesy...but trust me....it's not a Kinsella adaptation. It's Memoirs.....renamed Remember Me.

    I've read all Kinsella's books- they don't seem like the type of thing Rob would be involved in. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them but they are what I refer to as "fluff" - just a light escape... Rob is sooo much better than "fluff." Remember Me by Kinsella is defintiely not a a dark comedy- it's cute, chick lit... Like I said, not Rob's style.
