Will Gianna Be Omitted from the New Moon Cast?

by Will on April 17, 2009 · Comments

in Casting

200904171952.jpg In the official New Moon cast announcement, Gianna–the human secretary of the Volturi–was missing from the list. Does this mean that she won’t be appearing in the movie, or is it an oversight? The Twilight Examiner questions this

Wachsberger, beauty in such films as First Daughter and Sorority Row was long-rumored to be selected for the role, and Summit Entertainment’s press release for New Moon was expected to serve as the final word on its casting. However, the role of Gianna, the Volturi (human) secretary who sits at the desk of the very den of Volterra’s Italian vampire leaders in the Twilight series appears in the book New Moon, and her role in the grand scheme of the Volturi way of things is rather confusing to Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) and un-surprising to Edward (played by Robert Pattinson).

What do you think? Can we do without Gianna in the movie, or is more news forthcoming?

[thanks, Aimée! Check out the profile on Amanda, the Twilight Examiner, over at CBA!]

Gianna needs to be in the movie because she is the reason the voulturi can't kill bella. because they also have a human working for them. so they can't use that against bella
  • team edward!!!:)
i think gianna is a small but essential part in new moon. she is some what like bella, she is human and hopes to be a vampire some day.
  • inara
i don't want them to leave her out. i think every single character is important. i mean ,if they put heidi, they should gianna too!
  • : )
ugh. . . seriously, come on
  • Cullengirl
well they are not leaving her out seriously I'm curious on to what are the more important parts of the book because you people never talk about them?
  • Leave her out, there's more important parts of the book to include. When they are in the room with the Aro, etc Edward says ' there are a few humans in on your charade here' and Caius says ' when they are no longer useful they will serve to sustain us' so the topic of humans and Bella's confusion could be covered then. So much of Twilight the book was missed from the film surely they can't get it wrong again
  • kayteebugerrs232
OMgoodGRAVYSAUCE!!!! of COUrsE u have to have her she is on of the most important people.... otherwise bella woudnt be as confuse as much as she is supposed to
  • {somebodysbella}
i saw an artical in peaple...she was on the list there and it was a new issue....other than that i dont know!
  • Hi... wow!!! thx!!!! por mantener informados a los fanaticos sobre new mon, digamos que hay muy poca informacion dando vueltas por la web -.-U!... muchas gracias por toda la informacion que suben.

    Saludos
  • hartsafire
Should have also said if they leave her out then they should also leave out Harry Clearwater who has no lines in the new moon book at all.
  • hartsafire
Actually her significance comes in when Caius says that bella has to die because she is human, then Edward points out that they also have a human in on their charade, that is part of the reason they leave Voterra alive, don't get me wrong there are more reasons than just that, but it is a very good reason, because it gives some insight at Caius's temperment.
  • SaveMe620
Seriously! Why are they making such small characters seem like they have such an important part?

    I. Don't. Care.

She had like a 10 second role in the book [like Hedi] and yet they keep going on like they have such major roles. Just as long as they stick to the main storyline then I could seriously care less.
  • Cullengirl
Gianna not important, every character in this series is important no matter how small or big. Gianna is the opposite of what Bella wants, sure Bellas wants to become a vampire but live like the Cullens, Gianna wants the Volturi to turn her, and join in their feasts, again siding with Edward's view on what they really are.
  • reesespeices
I dont know if they should put her in. I just remembered her until now, but(please dont read that if u dont knw whathappens) how else will Bella find out all those tourists will be killed by the Volturi. I think she should be in to make the movie more like the book.
    WHOS WITH ME?
  • SLIM
SHE NEEDS TO BE PUT IN THE MOVIE BECAUSE SHE HAS MORE LINE THEN HEIDI ONLY HAD ONE LINE AND BROUHT BACK HUMAN'S THAT'S IT. THEY SHOULD PUT GIANNA IN THE MOVIE BECAUSE IT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO HAVE HER AT THE DESK WHEN THEY FIRST COME IN AND FOR BELLA TO CONCERNED ABOUT HER. I MEAN HOW MUCH MORE ACTION FROM THE BOOK CAN THEY PUT IN THEIR? I THINK IT WILL BE STUPID IF THEY DON'T.
  • julie<3Team Edward
i dont think it will make a difference if gianna is in the movie or not. i mean she said like what only 3 lines..."good afternoon jane".. "is thereanything i can iget you?"..and than she told bella edward and alice how to exit out to the streets again.

i dont think shell be missd much in the book.and if they have to they can just get some one..like not an actor..to just say the lines.it wont make a difference who plays gianna..no one will really care..shes not that important.

Why do you continue to post stories from The Examiner? You are a good site--. THEY are not. They get paid everytime you hit their site and they are not credible journalists. Please STOP supporting The Examiner. They have over 800 people who submit anything and everything to their site. They are NOT journalists. Real journalists are offended by this so I would hope New Moon Movie would really check out what you post on your site.
  • HannahM
I think that they probably just forgot her- they did the same thing with Charlie and the rest of Bella's family. And i hope she is in the story...its a shame she died in the end :(
  • ElleZ
I think that Gianna creates an interesting paradox for Bella.

Bella is so appalled that Gianna wants to become a vampire, a member of the Volturi... Be one of them, she doesn't really realise the interesting oxymoron she's created.

I think she's an important plot point.
  • Jadey
    They need Gianna.
Although it's a small part, it still brings a lil som'in som'in to the story. It gives us a little more information about the Volturi. I dunno. I think it would be great if they add her in.

I thought that part in the book was great.
But if they leave her out, then I won't be too disappointed.

New Moon is my favourite. But whatever happens, happens.
  • Walking_Disaster
(I'm too lazy to read all of the other comments, so if my suggestion has already been said, meh *shrugs*)

I'm betting that the role of Gianna may be being held back as the role for the Summit Video Contest Winner. Eh, eh? They did Promise "A part in New Moon" as the grand prize...Makes sense yes, no?

*crosses fingers and hopes her video submission beats out all the other Twitards, I mean, Fans*
  • Honestly I don't believe it would hinder the movie if Gianna was missing. Her blurp of a scene wouldn't be missed. They could easily have Bella, Alice, and Edward escorted directly to the Volturi, without stopping at Gianna.
  • whatever
    shes not important!!
  • Daniela23
They didn't anounce Billy Burke too whose role is way more important than Giannas, and he is in the movie. It doesn't mean anything.
I think they'll put her in.
  • Whitnie
I'm sure that it will not be the end of the world if Gianna does not make an appearence in the movie. Her part is not totally significant to the main story.
  • nooooooo
    just kidding.
  • nooooooo
..uh her name isnt Gianna..? it's Heidi. and they casted that model to play her part
  • peelski
Gianna needs to be in there. I can't picture Bella and Edwards little visit with the Volturri without her. The little human secretary. If anything they need to add, and not take away. I wanna see Edward asking Aro to kill him. Oh! and the old woman with the rosary! They better put her in there. Seriously, I love the part where the tourists are coming in and this woman just knows somthing isn't right and starts grabbing her rosary and praying... sooo creepy. =]
  • floridagrl16
Out of everything there is in New Moon...I wouldn't miss her at all, its a very small part and I didn't find it that signficant. If she's not in it, its not like it would really have a huge impact...
  • I<3EDWARD
    i could go without her

    she's not that important
  • Barbie
Hell why not, throw her in there! Can't hurt, cuz you don't see much of her anyway. Won't make me any diff!
  • vamplover1901
They should keep her in the movie. Sometimes the smallest detail can affect everything. And besides, Gianna really effects Bellas perspective on becoming a vampire just like the Cullen's.
  • Lainaaa
I'm thinking she's not going to make or break the story so if its an issue then sure we can do without her but if its just a question of should we? then yeah why not?
  • cutesweetiezzz
Gianna isn't a very important character. I wouldn't really care if she was in or not in the movie.
  • Yisel
I don't think it will hurt the movie if Gianna is out..instead they can give a bigger part to Alec and that is probably what is going to happen. Alec receives Jane when she comes back with Alice, Bella and Edward...maybe those few lines they interchange can be adapted to Alec...I don't know...maybe the Volturi part is going to be bigger anyway...it is such a great cast for the Volturi that they deserve a few more lines...I think Chris can manage that while staying true to the book...I won't mind...even Marcus can say something...they cast such a great actor for the role!
  • jaspers(dont F.. my avi) girl
I really dont care if she's in or out, as long as they keep more important character and scenes of the movie i dont mind losin giana for more quality movie time. Just my opinion
  • vee06
hey i know this is off topic but if your all about team Taylor Lautner then heres him working out hope you like

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyOdzfeCr2I&feat...
  • Destined
Yeah I know! Its on Lainey Gossip too with pics, so hot! What a way to start my weekend baby. I heart him for real. He worked so hard to secure his role and still is working, that's how you do it Taylor!
  • yuka
they should take her out cus it enhances the fright towards the volturi even more.
    she's a keeper ;]
  • yuka
    shouldn't*
  • TwiLove
i don't think that her character is necessary but it will be nice to have her in there for the fact that she is in the book.... this will keep it true to the story which is what we all want. i think that her character is important because like bella she is in on the secret and also hopes to become a vampire for very different reasons. Gianna knows everything that is going on and sees the people that are being brought there to die and she still wants to be a part of that life. I think its important that bella see's this.
  • she needs to be in the movie simply b/c she's part of the book! how many plp are they gonna ommit!? 1ts leah and seth and now gianna!!
but to be honest i dont like this girl as gianna. somehow i pictured her with dark skin aand light eyes... i dunno, but i dotn like her still
  • FBF
As Sad as this is, SHES MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER IN THE WHOLE STORIES!
    I JUST LOVE HER!
  • vee06
well at first i didnt care if she was in or not but if you read the book , the reson she is there it cuz edward brings her up in the coversation saying that , not right words but "why dose bella have to change if you have a human in on our secret to " so im not sure if thats a big deal but i think it adds something to the line in the movie.

    what do you think
  • Jazzykins
She is brought up in about one sentence. wow. such a huge role.
I don't think taking her away will change the tone or plot of the story any. People need to get over the fact that one 'MINOR' character will be taken away.
  • SLIM
FOR YOUR INFO SHE HAS THREE LINE'S AND SHE HAS MORE THE HEIDI SO IT IS IMPORTANT THEY PUT HER IN IT BECAUSE BELLA START'S TO WONDER ABOUT HER SO THEY SHOULD PUT GIANNA IN THE MOVIE IT IS IMPORTANT. SO YOU NEED TO GET OVER IT.
  • howdy25
thats a good point, i haven't read new moon in a while so i didn't remember that part. but then again, they left a bunch of lines out of twilight too and it didn't make too much of a difference. unless of course you're this one friend of mine who freaks out at every tiny difference. i can't even watch twilight with her anymore cuz she complains too much. and now i'm just complaining.... sorry!
  • Jazzykins
In the end its all up to the people in charge.
they have the movie making experience and we don't. If they think it will be better to take away the character then let them.
they know how crazy the fan following is.

and if the 'crazys' do want to complain then let them. there just wasting the energy over something stupid.
  • andorra03
Why are you on here. This is a site for fans of the book series and obviously by the name of the website, fans of the movie and soon to be movie. Yeah the movie wasn't the best, but people enjoy seeing a book they love come to the big screen and can overlook the bad parts.
  • i love rob
    Hi everyone!!!!

Don't forget to vote again for everything Twilight!!!!

    http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2009/catego...
  • team-jakward
I think that Gianna has a large part in what happens between Bella and Edward. Gianna wants to become one of the Volturi and Bella sees this because Edward explains it to her. This scene in the book has a major effect on Bellas perspective on being a "veggie" vampire. She sees what the affect of Gianna becomeing a vampire will do and this is where she starts to see things differntly.
    But thats just my opinion.
  • Jazzykins
either way the movie will be full of fail. I mean lets face it, its the sequel to twilight- the movie that was on the list of "worst movies of 2008".

adding or taking away one (minor) character wont make much difference.

My suggestion would be to take away the 'Mary sue' Bella, the 'stalker sex offender' Edward, and the 'pedowulf' Jacob.
  • crookedsmile
What was the criteria for it being judged the worst movie? Its looking to be the most profitable movie for 2008 once the DVD sales are accounted for. If a movie makes so much money, surely it can't be classified as the worst. The box office figures don't lie. That doesn't make sense to me.
  • Jazzykins
just because a movie makes money does not mean its 'good'.
I'm convinced only reason it made so much money is because every fan saw it about 6 times.

i was watching Reelz channel and they had a special "10 worst movies of 2008" and twilight was number 10.
a random search on the net also came up with this site- http://www.atomicpopcorn.net/the-worst-movies-o...

" don’t doubt that the millions of them who’ve seen it by now were more or less satisfied with what they got. Everybody else who sees it, though, will think it’s laughable, slow, badly acted and B-O-R-I-N-G! "

to 'none fans' the movie was horrible.
don't let your bias towards twilight cloud your judgment. you have to be honest with yourself. twilight the movie sucked.
  • crookedsmile
Personally I thought the movie was good but not great with some definitely laughable bits in it. I am not really a one-eyed fan, I just have a bit of a closet addiction!

I've seen good and bad reviews and they are all totally subjective. The atomic one above is written by a male and Twilight is a chick-flick so its not that surprising that he hated it (he also hated Mamma-Mia, another chick-flick, and I really did love that movie). I just don't think Twilight can be in the top 10 worst films due to its box office success (which is really the only non-subjective measure out there). Even Twi-book fans couldn't go back again and again to be tortured by a totally appalling movie.
  • i mean if shes not in the movie no biggie
its not like jacob isnt gonna become a warewolf and edward isnt gonna leave just because Gianna isnt in it.well if shes in it good 4 her and if not ohh well.end of story.
  • nemesis_CarolinaCullenCoven!nH
i couldn't agree more...i think we would even be more concentrated for chris to make other parts of the book that r more essential into really good scenes...
  • howdy25
i hope they put her in, but not to big of a deal if she's not. i just want it to be close to the book, but w/e.
  • i agree!!!!!!!!!
  • Cullenfreak01
well i personaly think she is important because all characters in the books have that special something that makes us fall in love with them... but then again i think i can live with her not being in the movie cuz she is in the book and will never be ommitted from that.
  • AK
There are so many "more important"(IMO) details that NEED to be in the movie- I don't think her character would be missed even though the dialogue between B, E & A pertaining to her was interesting/relevant. They added both of the victims who were killed by the Nomads to the movie and made a waitress seem important as well?! Who knows what they will do but I certainly hope that the movie will reflect the emotion of the book. Can't wait!
  • Tia_jb10 (Team Pants Explode!)
well they could do without her if they needed more time for other stuff...better stuff i could get over it it wasnt a big role like leahs ,well leahs was jus in new moon, but if leah was cut from new moon gianna can be too shes not a necessity. but watever there doing it'll be great=)))
  • Tylerdq14
i know this is off topic but look at this fan poster, one word amazing

    http://reachingasifall247.deviantart.com/art/Ca...
  • Nikkayy
    shes beautiful though
  • ImprintedVampire
I dont think we really need Gianna but it would be nice if she was in the movie.
  • Matt
I do not really care it was such a small part however they might as well include her.......... the more the merrier.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 30yearoldtwifan
maybe they have to cut that out to more scenes in we cant do without its a long book and I would rather see the main scenes. I don't mind if they cut this at all.As long as they dont cut edward.. im happy :-)
  • i love rob
  • Destined
Yes I have seen it like 10 times already. Taylor is so hot. Lainey has pics and the vid too of him working out. Can't wait to see him and the wolves on the big screen!
  • Tia_jb10 (Team Pants Explode!)
omg hes so hot workin out and a little bit funny 2 but still hott but wats that sound in the background???
  • i love rob
I know!!! Very hot!!! What a freaking cutie!!!

Background noise...I have no idea...it sounds like gun shots! Very strange!!! I couldn't figure it out....and it just doesn't seem to stop!!!

OMG!!!! IndiesR and I stayed up til after midnight to see the new video and it was the same one as the one earlier this week!!!! Maybe is when they said midnight, it wasnt eastern standard time!!! LOL!!!

    Thanks for letting me know!!!!
  • MizzPatzz
No problem if Gianna is omitted - too small & insignificant part.
  • Michelle
Gianna's role also comes into play with their negotiations with the Volturi... because they have humans who know what they are and work for them, they agree to not kill Bella immediately as long as they have the Cullen's word they'll turn her.
  • Yisel
Yes, but to that the Volturi say that they feed on those humans when they no longer need them.....as you said they change their mind about Bella when Aro sees Alice vision and since he is so curious about her future power decides to give her a second chance...so, it does not make any big difference, they can skip that line.
  • TheLionFellIn<3W/Ceci-ROBECI
Pesonally, even though I'm all for the movies staying as close to the books as possible, I don't think Gianna's presence in the movie is THAT important... yea Bella and Edward mention her for a minute? But that was it... it doesn't really matter guys... well, at least to me it doesnt! If she's in, then great, but if she's not then, great too... as long as they keep all of the other important parts I'm sure I can deal with her not being there!
    Just my opinion =]
  • hartsafire
honestly though she atleast does have lines in the book, compared to harry clearwater who has no lines. thats what gets me, not knocking harry by no means but if you leave her out you should leave him out and just metion him.
  • TheLionFellIn<3W/Ceci-ROBECI
I get what you're saying, it's just that Harry's involvement in the book is really important b/c it's his funeral that causes all the confusion about Bella's death you know? Gianna really doesn't have anything to do with them so that's why I say that if they include her, good and if they don't, well good as well =]
  • i so agree
  • El
we can deff do without her,
there are so many other (important) bits that i really wanna see in the movie.
i can survive without the one liner gianna.
  • Jbells
Honeslty..I dont really know!! The first movie, left out a lot, But was excellent!!! So, I think that whatever Chris decides for the movie, will be amazing!!! She would do good in the movie either way. This part was well-explained in the book, so yeah I guess they should put in in the movie..iF they decide not to though..I dont think it will be a big deal!!!
  • Lightninglizz!
I hink it would be awesome to put her in. But if they don't , it wont be that big of a deal
  • KPattS
I think she should be in the movie, but I don't see why they need to get some "known actress" to play the part. They could just use and extra, like they did for the secretary in the school office in Twilight.
  • andorra03
I agree and extra could just fill the spot behind the desk. She doesn't even need to say anything,, her being there would spark the coversation with Bella and Edward.
  • crazyjulieta
it makes no difference to me if she is in the movie or not... it's not like she has a key role or something...
  • dazzleme
I think she's an interesting character to include in the movie due to the fact that she is human. It generates more curiosity and interest for those that have not read the book and just go see the movie. It also adds some Italian flare ... it does take place in Italy afterall...
  • carlynnnn
Gianna is an important part of the books.
  • twilightforever
    I agree with you carlynnnn
  • Abby
Yeah, they can leave her out. It's not THAT big of a thing. I would rather them keep the others in, then keep her. We can't hear Bella's thoughts, so everything that she was thinking about Gianna might be too hard to get it.

Also, in movies, they cut out minor characters a lot of the time, or combine them, so it's easier for the audience to understand.
  • Destined
We can't hear Bella's thoughts, but remember her and Edward have a conversation about Gianna when they are waiting to leave. Gianna is right there at the desk and its interesting because Edward tells Bella she wants to be apart of them and hoping they keep her. Bella then ask Edward how can she want to be apart of that and he just eyes her meaningfully like yeah this is the same thing you want too. So it would def be an interesting conversation and scene in the movie.
  • Abby
Yeah, it would be interesting, but it won't effect the story overall if they leave that part out. I mean, if they keep it in, that would be great! But, I can understand leaving it out if necessary.
  • twilightforever
Exactly, you hit the nail on the head.

Bella asks Edward "Does she know what's going on here?" Edward says to Bella "Yes she knows everything".

Bella says "Does she know they're going to kill her someday?"

Edward says "She knows it is a possibility". "She is hoping they will keep her"

In the Book Bella says: I felt the blood leave my face. "She wants to be one of them?" How can she want that" "How can she watch those people file through to that hideous room and want to be a part of that?"

She is also the one to give directions to get out. Not to important. But the human side is. The need to leave that in, that will be disapointing.
  • 1netka
The character itself, no. But Bella's reaction to why a human would hope that they take pity on her and turn her into vampire was in total opposite to her own desire may be a catalyst. And Edward's pained reaction to Bella's, to me at least, served to cement his objection to turning her into one himself. Perhaps that was why there was such a turmoil in him to find an alternative or compromise - i.e., i'll turn you into a vampire, IF you marry me scenario.
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
So true 1netka! When she asks why anyone would want to be a part of that it just confirmes to Edward that he would be making the wrong decision to change her. Can't miss that!
  • CindysGotOCD
Very true.....she also did say something like poor thing when her n edward were talking on if they would kill her someday too... when I read that I was like no Bella dont say that
  • CindysGotOCD
i feel we should see her... i mean i would like to see that part of the book where alice bella and Edward are waiting till nightfall to leave and he wraps the cloak around her to keep her warm..I mean please don't cut out any scenes that Edward is in hes already gone for like 16 chapters.....
  • TEAM EJ CULLEN!
it wouldn't be the end of the world without her, but the point of her being there led bella and edwards conversation with her later, about whether they would kill her(the more likely option) or keep/change her. the point of this conversation was to kind of reference how bella's feeling about what'll happen to her.

if you know what i mean.
  • Andrea
I wouldn't be THAT upset if she wasn't in it, but it would be nice if she were.
  • i know everyone including me wants to stay as close as possible to the book and all but i think we can do without gianna i mean its not like she is a main person in the twilight saga...but if they have her in the movie thats great but again i think the movie can still be great without her in it u know :D
  • KINALuvzWolves
I for one found her character interesting because just like Bella you're thinking, "Whoa, here is this human working for the vampires." It's a twist you don't expect because they tend to stick with their own kind. But then again, if they include her then people who haven't read the book (we really need a name for "people who haven't read the book" because I'm getting tired of spelling it out!) will be wondering, "What is so special about this human that the vampires allow her to be around..." It might just cause confusion or come off as a discrepancy. So maybe it's better if they leaver her out in the end.
  • Lainaaa
That's true. I always think about what the people who havent read the books think is going on in movies because sometimes they put things in that you know you wouldn't understand if you hadn't read the book. We should call them the uninformed. haha.
  • KINALuvzWolves
    The Uninformed! I love that!

I've watched the movie with two people who never read the book (mom and roommate) and I basically had to hit pause at the end of every scene and go into a spiel that began with "Well you see, in the BOOK..." There were several gaps that we, the INFORMED, take for granted.
  • Mrs Renesmee Black
Thats a good point. Edward does mention that the Volturri have humans in on their charade when he's talking to Caius about Bella knowing about the vampire world. So maybe they should put her in.
  • Twifan
It wouldn't be the end of the world, but her part did hold some meaning in the scene she was in. Unless they are going to eliminate "the feeding" part someone should be cast for her role.
  • iloverobertpattinson
i think that they shud put her in but it wont b a big deal if shes not in it she has like a few lines and she doesnt show up ever again so i dont think they need 2 put her in the movie wont b ruined w/o her if they took rob out that wud b a whole different story lol love ya rob =]
  • Lainaaa
I agree, I'd like to see her in it but it doesn't matter either way.
  • Krystal
honestly I don't think that NM will die w/o her part in the movie, I mean they got more impt things to fil in than just her couple lines. but if they do that's fine 2! :) lol
  • kcullen
ok, we know that they can not put everything in the movie...so I would rather they leave her out and use that time to do something better and even more important. You know what I mean?
  • Mrs Renesmee Black
    I totally agree!
  • ya i agree
  • IndiesR

I think its because she is not a main character in the book, so why would they show her on the official cast list...I think they just wanted to give the fans the main characters.
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
I hope this is true because I want them all to be there, Gianna included. I'm still waititng to see who is playing Chelsea and Renata...they can't leave those girls out either!
  • IndiesR
I dont think Chelsea and Renata will get left out, but they arent really introduce until BD...hopefully they will make BD.

One reason alone to make BD is Isle Esme....it just got to done. LOL
  • Kimberlina Dirty Pirate Hooker
Oh my...Isle Esme. If I can't wait until November how I am supposed to be able to wait for a sex scene with Rob??? Oh the impatience!!!
  • IndiesR
Oops, sorry. You are right, lets just try to concentrate on one thing at a time...refocus...New Moon. LOL
  • Lizzaaay
i think they can include the role or they cant to me it wouldnt bother me if they did or didnt becoz its not important much they have to cut out some scenes face it they just have to so mabee this one better then a mor important one watta ya's reckon??? :o)
    Lizzie
  • Ashley
they have to put her in.
i reallly hope they dont screw this movie up.
  • i love rob
I dont care either way.....her part is sooo small. I don't think I'll miss her if she isn't in the movie!!!! I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that!
  • Guess who's back!!!! My feet are killing me! Scanning in the photo's now, took some scenery ones to send you! My 2yr old has passed out on the sofa as well, she is exhausted, now she is going to be up half the night LOL.

As for Gianni, he part is really small, it shouldnt matter, I can't see Edward Alice and Bella hanging around in the reception either till dark, time will tell what the scenes shape up to be.
  • twilightforever
    No offense taken.
But, Bella is human. Gianna is Human.

Bella asks Edward several times in the book about if Gianna knows what she is getting herself into.

And after they see Aro, and the Vamps have had their meal Bella has her meltdown she asks Edward again if Gianna knows about this.

This is something that should be in the movie. Even if it is small and insignificant it is important to the hamanity side of the movie. Bella is afterall HUMAN...
  • Miss College Grad
I agree...I think it would be a nice addition to the movie as it gives Edward another reason to justify not turning Bella into a vampire
  • Lizzaaay
bella only asks once if she knows wat she is getting into. but as they enter the voulturi and see her bella ses to hersefl she has to be human because of the green eyes. an its only wen bella has a meltdown and gianna asks can i get u anything and edward goes no, after that bella goes soes she no wats going on here does she no they will kill her one day and edward goes she knows she is hoping they will keep her and bella goes she wats to be apart of that? and then edward hugs her closer and thats it then gianna tells them where to go to get out and we never see her again. :o) so i still dont think she is important. no offense intended.

The only thing that concerns me is how much the movie will deviate from the book. If memory serves...Bella has a moment when she is totally appalled by the thought of Gianna "wanting / hoping" to become one of "them" and not be disposed of.

WHO plays the part -- I dont really care - like stated its a small part.

  • IndiesR
    Thanks! :)
Work it Taylor, pump those biceps...wooo hoooo *howling*
  • TEAM EDWARD
I think they should keep her part. I like how Alice & Edward (in the book) really don't like her and how Bella is really confused by her & I think its kinda kool that a human works for the Volturi!! :D
  • i love rob
Thanks!!! I know sometimes people take the comments to heart!!!!
  • IndiesR
Yeah, sometimes us fans tend to do that, but its only because we are all passionate about Twilight (that includes me and you :))
  • Nicnixs :) Squirrelshavelaws
Now if it had been a really hot guy sitting behind that desk it would be different LOL

But we'll cope with this LOL
  • IndiesR
I know what you mean, if it was a hawt guy sitting in Gianna's seat, he would defiantely need to be in the movie, I for one would protest infront of Sumit studios if he was excluded....I'm almost sure you and others would happily join me. LMAO
  • ya lol and if summit studio guys would ask why exactly do u want him in the movie im sure people will say .....well duh he is hot ...........hahahahahahahha lol :P well thats what i would say hahaha
  • IndiesR
LMAO...well, we wouldnt need any other reason. LOL
  • exactly my point hahaha .....when a hot guy is involved u dont really need another reason then... he is hot.... hahahahhaha
  • lmao
  • LaPushbabyLaPush
Ya know....in Twilight they threw in a character that was nowhere in the book: Homeboy that the Nomads killed in the boat.....I don't think that harmed nor helped....I don't think I would be too disappointed if Gianna were not in the movie...it's not like her character had any poignant significance in the book....Not to me anyway....So, if she's NOT in the movie: Fine....If she is: Fine......That's my shpeal....
  • Crazy4EdwardnotRob
It could be that Gianna herself is not important but what is important is that Bella makes a comment to Edward when he tells her that Gianna stays with the Vulturi wishing that they make her a vampire. Bella says something like: "She wants to be like them! Who would like to be that?" (sorry, I read the book in Spanish - this is not a one to one transcription). IMO that comment is crucial because it gives Edward one more reason to think that he does not deserve Bella, that he has no soul, that Bella should never be a vampire, etc.
    dont u agree?
  • joanna86 aka Charlie's Angel
true. every reason to put more vampire action in the movie was good enough for them ;)

I think that they may put Heidi in Gianna's place... she was just mentioned in a book and it seems to me that her appearance on the screen would be extended. It's a bit strange though, don't know if it's me, but imo Gianna was much more significant :)
  • ya i agree
  • socialromance
So, so true. "Butt Crack Santa," they called him. Wayland? I don't know. Goes to show that he didn't have any sort of purpose except introduction to the Nomads. I'm pre' sure they can do without Gianna. I think she might have had, what? .. 5 lines? The only significance she had was that she wanted what Bella wanted, to be a vampire.
  • BriSa
Gianna was nOt really important a didn't even remeber her until now, I think thatif she does'nt appaer in the movie it will still be find!! nOt very important
  • Ashleyy
i dnt think they should keep her out, i mean at that point in the movie, bella is finally feeling her black hole in her stomach close again, & she even talks about the girl later with edward. she feels bad for her because they are either going to kill her(which is more likely) or theit going to change it. it doesnt seem that important really but whatever, if they havent casted her yet they might not have that part at this point
  • AQUA
you know i read in SM page that stephanie say she die ;( i sure is true
  • Destined
I honestly think it prob was an oversight because she was announced earlier and her role is very small. With all that though, it doesn't matter who it is but they need to have someone playing her just to add more truthfulness to the movie from the book.
  • StickingPlaster
This is what I was thinking. She was just a small role, that they didn't realize people would care this much about it.
  • jasperrox
i hope they put her in!!!! it wont be complete without all the characters!!!!
  • Anonymous2_0
Jasoerrox is right. They said they were going to stick to the book and the movie wouldn't be complete without all the characters.
  • AQUA
i think too it would be kool to have her in but hey she does not has that much of importance sorry if some one gets upset but if she is kool
  • marie
true, characters that short, they just cut them, remenber Lauren or Ben? they made an hybrid of them, or Leah and Seth won't be in new moon, because they play just those small parts. They can make Bella have her meltdown when she sees the people and say lines that have to do with it, they can work it out, there are so many characters. If they do breaking dawn, don't think that they would include every single one of the vampires they invite, to use as witnesses, they may cut some or make hybrid. So i don't think it would be such a bid deal.
