Before his star turn as Edward Cullen in Twilight, Robert Pattinson sunk his teeth into How To Be, a dark comedy where he plays a quirky twenty-something musician on the verge of a quarter-life crisis that ends up spending his entire inheritance on a live-in life coach. After searching for a lead for nearly a year, director Oliver Irving says he instantly knew that Robert was the one when he showed up at a casting.

    The shirt & shoes would be in my bed with me, everyday. I saw the movie this morning on IFC-it's an amazing movie & really shows that he is not just a pretty face (although he is precious as always). Very funny, touching, makes you just want to hug him all the more. He's brilliant as Art. Need the shoes & the shirt!

    I am more impressed with that clip they posted, that pep talk with the mirror is briliant!
    I've read somewhere that is was an improvisation by Rob's part, which seems to be the case for most of the movie haha. I love it, still I have to wait for a while to see it. :(

    His facial expressions were priceless during the mirror scene! It's a great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it! He was so pathetic and awkward. You just wanted to jump through the screen and give RobArt a big ol' hug. :D

    Does your cable service have IFC on demand? I believe it just premiered today on that channel. :}

    So you've seen it...that's so cool! I've heard really good reviews from people so far. I've read so many reviews on net, I kinda have the feeling like I've already seen the movie...but it's not the same. I really can't wait.
    I knooow, I feel the awkwardness radiating through the screen every time I watch the trailer or clips like these haha. It seems that everyone who seen it want to mother Rob or hug him haha

    Eeeh...sadly I'm from Eastern Europe. Our cable sistem is differnt, we don't have that option. So I'll have to wait for dvd. But it's coming soon so I hope I won't be waiting too long. :D

    Yes. :} I went to the screening in NY last Friday! The film was hilarious! Very quirky! Everyone in the audience couldn't stop laughing. :} Kudos to the casting director; every actor was perfect for their role. Dr. Ellington, Nikki, and Ronny were fab too! I brought along a non Twilight/ non Robert Pattinson fan with me, hoping to convert her. lol She thought his acting was spot on and now understands his appeal. I think she's a fan now. ;}

    Ooh! You're lucky! :} When you get the dvd, pause during the close-up shots of Dr. Ellington's book, "It's Not Your Fault", and actually read a couple of the paragraphs. Oliver said they had a good laugh making up the book. Some of what was written was jibberish. lol We have to wait until the fall for our dvd, but the wait will be worth it. :}

    Oh yes, from what I've seen so far Nikki and Ronny are hilarious too. I've heard that Dr. Ellinton pops up in most embarassing situatons haha.
    Rob's appeal always wins haha. Before Twilight came I didn't know much about him except that he was Cedric in GoF. And my friend was constantly metnioning him. She was a fan of his long before all this. She was like Rob this, Rob that...he sings, you got to see this... blah, blah...and when I gave up and saw all these things and payed attention I was hooked haha.

    Thanks, I didn't know that. I'll pause to see for sure. I have to see what kind on nonsense they've put in it xD.

    I never knew who Rob was until I saw a Twilight teaser at the theater. I had to find out more about the mysterious man who piqued my curiosity, and the rest is history...;}

    Dr. Ellington was a trip in the film! What a great actor! :D

    I also didn't know Rob until I saw the Twilight trailer. Then I read all 4 books before I saw the movie. I'm glad I did, the movie was alright, but the book blew me away. I have dreams about him, creepy huh.

    I agree! The book is always a million times better.
    I bought the series as a Christmas present for myself and gobbled them up in a week or so. There were many late night reading feasts during the weekends. In between revamping, I'll go back and forth to my favorite pages/sections of the series. Haven't been able to put them down ever since! ;}
