Robert Rodriguez, director of Shark Boy & Lava Girl and Sin City, knew from the start that New Moon star Taylor Lautner was destined for great things–

Rodriguez says he isn’t at all surprised to see the now 17-year-old Lautner becoming a household name. He knew the young star possessed that “it” quality four years ago. “He was the first actor we saw for ‘Sharkboy and Lavagirl’ and we picked him right off,” he explained to MTV News at the “Star Trek” premiere in Los Angeles. “He was the first actor who came in, and we knew he was the guy.”

It was Lautner’s natural charisma that won over the “Sin City” director. “He had so much personality,” he said. “[He's] athletic [and] smart.”

Robert Pattinson offers his thoughts on the character he plays in his newly released film How to Be.

The film tells the story of Art, played by Rob, who is an aspiring singer-songwriter who has just been dumped and moves back home to live with his parents. He uses his inheritance to hire a therapist from Canada to come to England and be his “life coach.”

The role draws upon Rob’s real-life love of music, and he even contributed three songs to the film’s soundtrack.

New Moon star Ashley Greene has a new addition to the family—a white toy fox terrier. Ashley says it was love at first=sight–

“She was meant to be mine,” gushed the 22-year-old actress, who plays the pixie-like vampire Alice Cullen in the popular series, of her new puppy, Marlow. “I wasn’t looking for a dog, and I happened to see her picture online, and I was like, ‘I have to have that dog.’

The lucky canine in question – a white Toy Fox Terrier – spent the evening in the lap of luxury as Greene lovingly cradled her throughout much of the For Joseph launch party at the new Kitson Melrose in West Hollywood. The twosome even posed for photos with Greene’s fellow on-screen vampire, Kellan Lutz – Marlow showing her excitement by alternating between dozing and shivering
