Here’s a great interview that Variety performed with Robert Pattinson back in November which is just now getting posted–it’s more than 15 minutes of Rob analyzing himself and talking about How to Be.

200905021652.jpg A Spanish reader of NMM.org has been kind enough to translate an interview Robert Pattinson had with the Spanish newspaper El Pasi. I thought this passage was hilarious:

R.P. The worst part of it is that they are not romantic at all, they are super traumatic. Instead of excitement you feel pity for both of them [laughs]. All of it was very uncomfortable, not only because the first scene Javier [Beltran, who plays Lorca] and I shot happened only one day after we met, but also because we had no privacy while shooting them, we were surrounded by technicians who were speaking in Spanish, a language I didn’t understand, and they were giggling at us.

EP3. Who is a better kisser, Javier or Kristen [Stewart, his lover in Twilight]?

R.P. Definitely, Javier [laughs]

Check out the rest of the translated intervew after the break.

Ashley Greene, freshly back in Los Angeles from Vancouver, talks about how crazed Robert Pattinson’s fans far in this new E! interview–

“Me and Rachelle [Lefevre] were sitting at a bar waiting for Rob and we’re texting him ‘We’re gonna leave. You’re taking too long,’” she told me at the For Joseph launch at Kitson last night. “And he comes in with his hood on and his eyes…he just looked so terrified!”

“We were like ‘Do you need a drink or something, are you OK?’” she adds. “And he was like ‘They were at every entrance of my hotel and they chased me down alleyways’ and these people are chasing him down the street.”

200905021613.jpg The Guardian has a great new interview where Robert Pattinson talks about his newfound fame, Little Ashes, and Twilight-mania. I thought this segment was particularly telling–

There are always fans waiting outside the hotel but he tries not to think about the phenomenal level of fame he’s reached in north America; he says he’d go mad if he did. So he tries to disguise himself: “But instead I’m just getting more and more conspicuous; I’m wearing two hoods, a hat and sunglasses, which kind of stands out in the middle of the night. So I’m learning to sprint.”

At times Pattinson sounds grown-up, but he also lapses into adolescent silliness. Ask if he has a fake hotel name and the giggling starts: “I was Clive Handjob in Paris. Everyone in the hotel called me ‘Monsieur Handjob’. That was good, cheap fun.”

200905021550.jpg The San Francisco Chronicle has a brief new interview with New Moon star Robert Pattinson for his new film Little Ashes. On New Moon, he says–

“It’s strange because it already feels much more of a slick machine,” Pattinson says of the film, which is being directed by Chris Weitz. “The first one we had such a young cast. Everybody was friends. It was fun. There was nothing like what it is now. Now there are people waiting outside the hotels all the time. We have security. It’s crazy.”

VanCityAllie
has another great report from the set of New Moon–this time revealing a bit of a mystery–why is Bella Swan on the back of a motorcycle–not dirtbike–with someone other than Jacob Black? She says–

Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has been doing her own stunts all night on the back of a motorcycle from various angles. These special effects look pretty cool for New Moon. However, in the book, Bella only rides on the dirtbikes with Jacob. And let me assure you, Taylor Lautner was not there and these were not dirtbikes.

My best guess? They changed the movie a bit so that Bella does something rash to see Edward’s apparition… she rides on a motorcycle with one of the gang members.

Check it out for yourself. In the last cut, you can hear her say “Stop! Stop!” as part of her lines for that scene.

[thanks, Shurlock & Kristin!]

200905021527.jpg As New Moon’s Kristen Stewart left the last day of filming on the theater set, she stopped to say hello and sign autographs for some appreciative fans waiting outside as she headed back to her hotel.
