Michael Sheen, who plays Volturi leader Aro in New Moon, has been spotted freshly shaven around Vancouver.When he arrived a few days ago to Vancouver, he looked a bit more grizzly. A new project that Robert Pattinson will be working on is a movie adaptation of the 19th century novel Bel-Ami by Guy de Maupassant, Robsessed has pointed out. This appears in two recent sources–French newspaper Lyon Plus, as well as a Spanish interview with El Pais [Robsessed Translation]–

EP3. – Let’s say you’ve got 8 weeks of vacation starting today, what would you do?

R.P.- I want to travel! That’s why I always look for work in different countries. I think next year I would like to work in Paris for three months.

EP3. – For what Project?

R.P.- Ahhh, we’ll see if I’m going to be a blabbermouth again….It’s a Bel-Ami adaptation, from Guy de Maupassant. Now that I’ve told you, I can go around telling to everybody. Besides, I’m sick of people saying: “You can only make those Twilight films, you’re nothing more than a fleeting star”. I refuse to accept that! (laughs).

Here’s a description of the book–

Young, attractive and very ambitious, George Duroy, known to his friends as Bel-Ami, is offered a job as a journalist on La Vie francaise and soon makes a great success of his new career. But he also comes face to face with the realities of the corrupt society in which he lives the sleazy colleagues, the manipulative mistresses and wily financiers and swiftly learns to become an arch-seducer, blackmailer and social climber in a world where love is only a means to an end.

Despite his stardom, it seems Rob is certainly set on challenging himself with divergent roles that will show off his acting chops and not just his good looks. And that’s why we love him!

NMM.org reader Michael sends in his experience and a great video from the set of Bella’s house yesterday, where most everything on the outside looks to be packed up, indicating that they’ve finished what they needed to film at the location for now–

The vehicles and bikes that were on the lot 2 days ago, are now gone. I’m guessing the house shots are done now, but they’re keeping it up just in case they need reshoots…and probably for Eclipse as well.

Kellan Lutz was at a West Hollywood acting class yesterday, and when he left the class he wasn’t scared to show off his amazing bod. Oh yes. We like.

Girlfriend magazine in New Zealand has an interview with Robert Pattinson I haven’t seen before, we he talks a bit on reaction to the hair cut he got before New Moon began to shoot–

Robert: I cut it because I’m a rebel. It’s one of those crazy things. The studio was always like, “The fans don’t want to see you messy.” I’m like, “I don’t care.” Then as soon as one of the fans said, “I like how messy he looks” they came back to me and were like, “Okay. You have to be messy all the time. Never stop being messy.” It used to look like a sculpture!

Lainey Gossip says that the wolves have wrapped their portion of the shot up in Vancouver for now, and now it’s the Volturi’s time to film. As for the scenes filmed yesterday–

The Volturi judging and sentencing a vampire who broke the rules – as seen in a painting.

Edward presenting himself to the Volturi and requesting their decision. The three vampire leaders say nope, they don’t want to destroy him.

In coordination with the release of New Moon this fall, there will be a brand new trove of Twilight bookstuff to get your hands on–including a set of four handsome Twilight journals based on the covers of the four books, as well as a new special edition of Breaking Dawn. EW says–

The Breaking Dawn Special Edition, on stands Aug. 4, will include a DVD of the Breaking Dawn concert series and interviews with Meyer. Those who pick up the hardcover book can also expect a poster and reproduction of handwritten lyrics for “My Never,” by Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld. The Twilight Journals (pictured), out Oct. 13, are packaged in a tin and include “decorative quotes” from each book. For those hoping to buy books tied into New Moon, Little, Brown will release New Moon: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion on Oct. 6 and New Moon trade and mass-market paperback tie-ins in September and November, respectively. They will also publish a New Moon Collector’s Edition on Oct. 6.
