Exactly! I agree with everything you said! The fact that they used lesser known artists on the Twilight soundtrack was part of what made it so great! The songs chosen for Twilight were chosen because they truly fit the tone of the story and the scenes they were used in, not because they just went with whoever the most famous people were that said they wanted to be on it. I don't want to see that change just because they have a bigger budget. I really hope that they keep that the same and don't go the boring cookie-cutter pop route. The Twilight soundtrack sold the way it did because the music on it was amazing not because so and so was on it. I just personally really loved the Twilight soundtrack and still listen to it all the time and don't want to see the music become more and more generic with each film. Some of my favorites from Twilight are obviously Muse's Supermassive Blackhole, Mutemath's Spotlight, Iron & wine's Flightless Bird, Eyes on Fire (I forget the artist name, but its the song playing when Edward runs away to Denali for a few days and Bella is looking around for him at school). Anyway you guys get the point! PLEASE DON'T RUIN NEW MOON WITH GENERIC BORING MAINSTREAM TWEEN POP MUSIC!

Hello Polaca! Nope never heard of it but i looked at the link...It's pretty creepy one! ;-) i think it's cool. Well I'm pretty sure that they will be able to make a good soundtrack. Let's just not expect too much cause that's when we get disappointed if we are not satisfied by then. The volturi part should be easy for them as there are a lot of choices for it... Now the wolfpack thing should have some rock-on on it! lol! I'm sure i will like the outcome cause I'm not so hard to please as an audience. I wouldn't mind whateve song is in the soundtrack. For sure I will like it still. Like I said, I'm not so hard to please :-) I just thought that the supermassive black hole song was so perfect for that scene in the baseball field. They did very good at it and that every song in twilight was well picked.

Now about this song, yes it's good. If they could fit this song in one of the dramatic scenes then of course that's alright because they know better than me :-) I'm sure i will like it still.

I just don't think that the rhythm of this song can be levelled with supermassive black hole... Without the lyrics, supermassive black hole as a background music can make a scene very captivating. I don't know about this one :-)

The breakup scene needs something that would make you want to cry...what about Blackout by Muse - that's a really good song that would fit the scene - OR maybe a more morose (very sad) ending to her lullaby...it started with that...it seems only fitting that it would end with that...no? That would be killer and I would be bawling the entire time....

I just listened to it again,and have since changed my mind from thinking it would possibly fit to, there is no way. Because of the lyrics being so literal, the only place they would make sense would be right after he leaves her. At which point the music is too up beat for that. It's a very sad moment, and that's just too uppity for that time. Something like My Immortal would fit in better there. That's a moment that had better make me cry cause it sure did in the book and if the melody isn't right for that time it will ruin it, so no, this song will not work.

i agree frosta..the melody is not right; and the words are too literal..it's like the words comes from the book and not original..lol..i aint hating on justin; but i really want original songs on there and rock; not any teeny bopper or the obvious lyrical songs out here.. when edward leaves bella; dido song "here with me" can do; or something else; even evenescence song "my immortal" can do o in this moment.. i think evenescence song my immortal fits when bella is depressed and not wanting to get out of bed; or when charlie telling her mom to come get her and stuff like that..because the lyrics kinda match the mood

when edward leaves bella ...she follows.....song starts @ instrumentals n middle of song(volume low) ...screen 2 bella's surprised/hurt face..@ the same time the song starts w/ the long strung out words of "you don't exist'....song continues through chorus.....she's wondering lost & confused for a minute/ back & forth flashes of diff scenes of them & her in forest alone....song steadily increases....he sings the end of chorus "i cant' live in a world where u don't exist" (on last words vol. sky rockets)...then there's instrumentals, volume lowers again...wideshot of bella in forest alone...back 2 her face....her eyes glazed over w/ almost tears....she screams "Edward!" into the forest, ....wideshot of no response from forest/ back to bella...in shock she starts to shake uncontrollably lifting her shaking hands to face, staring into the nothingness that is there.....then she falls on her knees staring into her hands as if edward might appear.....zoom in on her face....as tears stream down it and watch as her face settles into the realization that he's gone....she crumbles....cut 2 next sceen.....

This should not be put in any of the movies for Twilight. I don't care if they want it for the first dance at their wedding. Do not use him in any of the movies. I listended to it, and I really wasn't a fan. It really SOUNDS like he wants to be in the movie (if that makes sense.) It just tries too hard. The lyrics are WAY too literal and musically it doesn't stand out from any other song. I think it's very generic. I could imagine it in a "Twilight the Musical" situation, but really nothing more than that.

I LOVED the Twilight soundtrack b/c of all the great artists on it! ESPECIALLY the artists I had never heard of before until I bought the soundtrack...like Blue Foundation and Black Ghosts. I really hope they stick with this formula for the New Moon Soundtrack!

I agree. I like it better with some undiscovered songs; it makes the movie less mainstreamed (none of us want that). This one is too well-known, and has too much rock. I can't see it going with the feel of the movie, even though NM will be different.

The lyrics are good but i'm not sure that the sound is right. It's a bit too obvious if that makes any sense. Like the songs on the Twilight Soundtrack were unusual but they worked perfect. This song is just trying too hard imo. Maybe it could work for the credits though?

Another good song by Evanescence is "Missing." It's haunting and beautiful. If you check out the lyrics it is great from Bella's perspective. I hear it in my head whenever Bella holds herself together because she thinks he just left and doesn't think he suffers too. That's basically the gist of the song.

Yeah, I wasn't saying put that song into this movie- I just liked it because I, myself, could compare it to New Moon :^). I liked their song "missing", too! Evanescence is a great band, and the kind of music they play goes well with the Twilight theme, I think.

I agree that justin's style is not the right fit for New Moon. Maybe he can pull it off in other romantic stuff but the twilight saga is just so much more intense. It's not necessarily all rock and punk, there's just a certain *umph* factor to it. HOWEVER, the lyrics of "I can't live" bring a lot of justice to New Moon, so if he's willing to change it up a bit an not make it sound so teenage chick flicky, then maybe I would reconsider.

Ladies, Twilight soundtrack was awesome, but we need something a little different. Adam Lambert's, If I can't have you," is awesome. He is not ur normal AI contestant. Just listen to it! I can't wait to see what they do w/ the New Moon soundtrack. Hopefully, some different artists. Just an opinion!

I personally think Tori Amos should be given a chance...Putting the Damage On and The Beauty of Speed come to mind. There is also Lacuna Coil- I Won't Tell You, The Pain, and Shallow Life. Then Rasputina- The New Zero and Transylvanian Concubine. Look them up. Just my opinion though

I think Rasputina would definitely be worth considering. Especially with their current line-up with Daniel deJesus. He and Melora have a wonderful vocal chemistry.

omg I remember that Rasputina song Transylvanian Concubine from Buffy the Vampire Slayer! It was featured in season 3, I forget exactly which episode, but it was the one with Drusilla's "birthday party" and the song plays when she is walking down the stairs dancing around. After watching that episode on DVD last summer I had that song stuck in my head for weeks until I finally did some searching online and found the name of the artist and the song! I never would have thought of it for the Twilight saga, but now that you mention it I think they could make that song work fairly easily in one of the films.

I totaly agree about that song, I have that soundtrack and the twilight soundtrack, every time I hear Bella's lullaby I think of Buffy and Angel's song, the beginnings sound VERY similar!

yeah...justin guarini...no matter how hard he tries he is always gonna be categorized into the American Idol/Pop culture section. The song is good, dont get me wrong, but it isn't "Twilight" material. Definitely stick with the Muse, Jack's Mannequin, and Linkin' Park style of music...that is what makes Twilight, bc the music is different and dark and deep. Justin Guarini is not dark and deep. by any means....

I loved that Hayley from Paramore wrote a song for Twilight because she was a fan of the books before it had become the crazy phenom it has turned into. But NOW, it really does feel like everyone is just trying to milk the Twilight cash cow.

I don't think this is for New Moon.
I thought the Twilight soundtrack was a good mix of more well known bands (Muse Paramore, Linkin Park etc.) and the ones I just discovered through it (esp. Mutemath.)
As for suggestions I like "Like a Song" by Lenka. The lyrics and music are really simple but there's something about it that's just very haunting and relevant to New Moon , in my opinion.

idk if some of you will agree with me, so don't eat me alive, but i think Broken Man by Boys Like Girls, is perfect for new, it fits the way Jacob feels toward Bella and wishes she would get over Edward

I haven't read any of the comments so I do not know everyones opinion.

I hate American Idol.

I was not going to listen to this at all, but decided to set aside judgment until I heard it.

I think there were some lyrics that went well with the idea of Edward and Bella and their relationship. I think that the end of the song was WAY too repetitive. I get the point "you can't live" lol.
All in all not a terrible song, but not right for the Twilight saga, just my two cents.

i have to admit that SOME good has come of that show, but justin guarini is not it. he's trying wayyyy to hard to be on the soundtrack. i thought paramore did an excellent job with their track.
i mean people that have come out of american idol usually aren't who i like but carrie underwood, josh gracin, and daughtry are good in my opinion.

My issue with American Idol is that JUST about anyone can sing with the right training, play an instrument that takes talent, even lessons can't teach an uncoordinated person to do that.

I am not saying that some of the people on there are not good singers, but that is the ONLY thing that SOME of them can do.

I also don't like that they do not sing their own music, I hate that even once they break away from American Idol they still have song writers, it makes the music less convincing and less personable.

But as I said, not all of them are like that, I also do not like the style of most of the music, can't handle country or pop or folk or any of that.

But again, that is just my opinion, to each their own :)

I agree, Im also more of a rock girl or alternative rock but im a 90s girl so im definalty not into the pop..country stuff. I say a BIG no to this song on the new moon soundtrack.

Ok, so I just looked it up an listened to it. Yes, a very good song for the movie. Memories & What have you done wouldn't be bad either. I think What have you done would be good in a few parts of the movie.

The Howling would be good for a couple of the movies. In New Moon it would be pretty good in the part where he's about to step out of the tunnel.

Does anyone think that this song might be a little too blatantly obvious for New Moon? I think the lyrics are so "out-of-the-book" that it actually gives a sense of overkill. I'd much rather hear something with lyrics that are more deep and less obvious. And I agree with what everyone has been saying about Supermassive Black Hole. They aren't gonna top that song in the Twilight Saga. This poppy Idol song isn't gonna cut it.

iron and Wine and i'm sorry but i don't think Justin Guarini should be in NEw MOon i don't think it fits the story. Remember New MOon is depressing and sad and thei is some excitement but not as much.

Don't be too hasty... If you noticed about the Twilight Soundtrack, not all the songs were about love. Hell, some of them had NOTHING to do with the story, but they contributed to the mood of the story musically.

And New Moon isn't all depressing and sad. In the middle of it all Bella and Jacob fall in love. So there's lost love, new love, there's the joy of the Wolf Pack when they're running, and the majesty of the Volturi, and the excitement/urgency/fear/hope of Bella's run across the Piazza. I have my mental playlist while reading New Moon, and very little of it is actually sad and depressing because there's much more than that.

I love "Sleeping Sickness" by City and Colour, it's a beautiful song, very emotional. I think it would be perfect for Bella after Edward leaves.

In the end it is up the the studio and the execs to decide who will be on the soundtrack.

But if people want indie and non mainstream then why suggest Coldplay, All-American Rejects, Evanesence, Flyleaf, Disturbed, they are mainstream at least where I am from in the northeast. And Linkin Park was on the first soundtrack as well. They have been mainstream for years.

Just my opinion, but let the studio decide what they think is best for the soundtrack they didn’t disappoint us the last time did they?

i really dislike this song. i agree with several of you in that justin guarini (as well as the jonas brothers) are just trying to get in on the franchise which = not cool in any way, shape or form.

I really didn't ever listen to them before there was no distraction about who the group was and total focus was on Twilight. I really think that they need to do that with New Moon too. I think the ONLY mood/scene/whatever this would fit with in New Moon is possibly background music while showing Edward making his decision to go to the Volturi after he hears the false news about Bella. But since New Moon is SUPPOSED to be seen from Bella's point of view, I don't know that that kind of scene would be in the movie. Obviously this song would only fit to describe the feeling of being ready to commit suicide because the object of the person's affection is no longer in existence. For this reason alone, this song should NOT be used to show Bella's reaction, besides the fact that music outlining Bella's thoughts should be more depressive. That's her mind set. This music has kind of a motivating/driving-one-to-do-something feeling to it. It should only be used in a scene with just Edward, if at all.

SM gave us a playlist for all her books the only thing that Summit has to do is stay along those lines like they did for twilight they don't have to be big names just great songs. My favorite c.d. right now is Secondhand Serenade A Twist In My Story I really think he would be able to right and sing a wonderful song for the movie also I am an Idol fan and think Adam L has the look and with the right song can sing the hale out of an emotional song for the breakup of even when the reunite.

I haven't decided what I think. I keep going back & forth. I agree with others that it does seem way too literal. It's like it could of worked, but then it just went too far. Like cheap imatation. I mean it isn't hard to pick words out of the book and put them into lyrics. The sound, well ... it don't know...maybe. It might just work if we gave the song to a heavy band or melodic band and they changed it up.

I wish we could make the sound track..... us fans know what we want & the way we feel. lol As I said on the Soundtrack page, I think 'The Dreaming' a band out of LA would be really good, they have some very fitting songs. I ALWAYS hear "Strange Boy" by Kerli in my head when I read about the wolves running. It's another one of those things I can't really explain. The intro makes me want to drive fast (since I can't run). I guess that helps explain it a bit.

I loved Twilight because it delivered great music from relatively unknown bands who got their chance to shine. I want more of that (and ofcourse, some new songs from Rob would be awesome). I mean, it's a good song but it's way to much alike so many others. It takes something extra to bring the feelings to the table in New moon, it contains alot of strong scenes and therefore it should contain strong music.

At first, I had my doubts about the song. But then I continued to listen to the song and I started to get the chills; before I knew it, I reached up and touched something wet -- I was crying! I think it's definitely good for New Moon. I DO totally agree though; they shouldn't have crap like:
Madonna, Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and
all that crap on the soundtrack. It should be raw, emotional, songs and artists that
aren't really known.

I just hope that they don't get lame Disney groups and people on the

i think the words definetly match the movie, but the tune, the arrangement, and even the artist just don't feel like "New Moon" material to me. I think there should be more slow songs on the new moon soundtrack, beacause that's what new moon is; slow and sad. Bella thinks of the time period of new moon as her "dark days", the worst of her life. the soundtrack should reflect the mood of the movie, because music is a big part of the emotion behind the movie; it's what helps you feel the way the director wants you to feael in certain parts of the movie. so anyways, i think that the words are a perfect match, but that's only a little part of the song. For this particular movie, i don't think this song is the right one.

I honestly really liked the song and I wouldn't be the slightest bit upset if it ended up on the soundtrack. Supermassive black hole was ok... Don't get me wrong I like Muse and have long before Stephanie Meyers was introducing to main stream teenie bopper america. I think ANYONE who makes a good song that can capture some of the emotion that I felt while reading these books, should get a chance.

God, sure if you want this to be linked and in the same thought train as High School Musical or Glee.

i enjoy the song the lyrics sound good for the movie but i think its too upbeat it should sound more sad and painful to help describe the way bella is feeling through most of the book
