Texas Monthly has a great interview with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. She notes that, oddly enough, Twilight wasn’t originally supposed to in the Young Adults section of the bookstore–
When Stephenie wrote the first book, she didn’t expect it to go into the Young Adults section. Someone else decided that’s where it should go. She and I joked that, yes, you’ve got Romeo and Juliet, the two young lovers, but it doesn’t mean no one else can appreciate the play. It started out with the teenagers, but then it expanded—you know, you have the Twilight moms and the Twilight grandmoms.

[thanks, Rachael!]
