I just don't see that we have to be “choosing sides”.
It is perfectly good and fine to love one character over the other. And normal.

What I don't like is the character bashing/fan bashing.

I have seen some Team Jacob fans say some things jokingly about Edward. But I don't think they mean it in a mean spirited way. However, I have heard some Team Edward fans say “I HATE Jacob!!”, “I want Jacob to die!!”. This, I think is disrespectful. I have never seen a Team Jacob fan say “I want Edward to die.” or “I hate Edward.”

I am not saying all Team Edward girls are mean spirited, but about 10% of them give the Saga a bad name, because they are so mean spirited about anyone saying anything the least bit not “Team Edward” and doing crazy things like asking RPatzz to bite their neck. I feel sorry for him because some of the fans are sooo crazy nuts. It is making his like difficult. I don't want him to get so overwhelmed that he doesn't want to de Breaking Dawn.

I also think Lainey Gossip is often says mean, disrespectful and unappropriate things to Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart. But she is doing it to make money (which doesn't make it right). She is not a Twiight fan arguing over which character is “best”. They are ALL wonderful in their own ways. I wish she would stop the Rob/Kristen Rob/Nikki stuff. It's just disrespectful and ridiculous.

Anyway, I didn't mean to upset you by anything I said. I don't consider fans like you the “crazy” ones. It is the ones who feel they have to defend Edward by saying things like “I hate Jacob” or “I want him to die.” Even Stephenie Meyer says that hurts her feelings.

I love the Saga, too and am so excited that our beloved books are coming to life. I totally agree with you about it's fascination. We are completely on the same page for that.

One last thing, I am really Team Switzerland.
I TOTALLY get that Bella had to choose Edward. I would have been hurt and upset if she didn't. They are soulmates in a supernatural world and MUST be together.
So why do I defend Jacob? Because if I were a 16 year old again, he would be my ideal guy. Funny, caring, protective, loyal to the end, and Tall, Dark and Gorgeous! He would have been for ME! (but I guess I would have to be reborn again as Renessme!)

That's why I don't like it when people say he should “die” or that he is a “disgusting dog” or that he is a “pedowolf”. He is a wonderful character.

I am glad that we can agree to disagree agreeably! That is what mature adults do. (but not what some teen fangirls do)
