this scene is after "bella and jessica" went to see that horror movie. this bike guy is going to be like a gang guy that she talks to in order to hear edward but when they are on the bike she says "stop! stop!" cuz edward appears to her. it is on another thread on here and shows the video with the full article.

My take on this extra scene is that it's a good probability that SM had originally had it in her original book script and they ok'd it for the movie, but when published they must of asked SM to take it out since the book was going to be sold to the young adult demographic, and you just can't have young impressionable girls reading that if a guy dumps you it's ok to take a joy ride with a motorcycle driving joe.

It would make some sense if SM had to show just how extreme Bella's going off the deep end was. Maybe to show that if Bella making herself believe that if she decided to go with this dangerous looking joe maybe Edward would come to her rescue like he did in Twilight.

good point since Bella doesn't know yet at this point that doing dangerous things will automaticallly let her hear Edward, so she wouldn't get on the bike to hear him unless she already heard him and figured out danger=hear edward.

But for Bella to decide to get on the bike with a dangerous gang guy could be her cry for help, Edwards help, hoping that he would come to save her like he did in Twilight, BUT to her surprise when she did get on the bike is when she was surpised by Edwards voice for the first time and why she cried 'STOP,STOP"

This is great! They are suppose to show her being reckless and they are doing exactly that! It fits very well within the hallucinations and it actually ties in with the dirt bikes better than a chance spotting as stated in the book.
They're not going to keep it exactly to the book but it sounds like alot of the key scenes are either scheduled to be completed or have been.. Woo whooo!!!

FYI I just read the script online, it's amazing, Chris has stayed so unbelievable true to the book, its awesome!

But its now been removed due to legal reasons so nobody will be able to read it and some off it was missing as well. But still what I read was fantastic, and can I just say the break up scene is heart wrenching!

this scene here....in the book bella does not get on the bike with a gang person. in the book she is walking up to a group of drunk guys outside the pub while jessica is telling her not too and then she hears edward's voice telling her not to go to them so she keeps taking more steps just to hear his voice more.
now here...in the film...this is after her and jessica go see the horror movie and they are walking and she sees these biker guys and gets on the back of a bike in order to make edward appear and hear him.

Artistic liberties is an understatement. Since no one from the cast or crew will officially comment on what's actually going on in this scene, I'm really trying not to read too much into it. VanCity Allie posted the first set of pics a couple days ago and it scared me because I didn't want Weitz to make it seem like Bella is overly reckless..... She's crazy after Edward leaves, yes, but not so crazy to run off with some random strange drunk guy who might rape or kill her. Right? Right. So hopefully the filmmakers are doing something that actually makes sense to the BOOK -- not just their own interpretation of the book for the sake of "dramatic effect." *crossing fingers*

I see your argument, but you can equally make an argument the opposite way. Bella doesn't ride off with the men in the book, but she does cross the street to a group of men, she is convinced at the time, are the ones who tried to rape her in Twilight. She never runs, but instead walks towards them. I don't think that can be branded anything but "reckless". No one in their stable and right mind, or being cautious, would walk across a dark street to people she believes attacked her. Even Jessica is appalled at her behavior in the book.

Then you have the incidents that follow. She gets on the bikes with Jake, not knowing what she's doing, can't control the thing, and ends up crashing into a tree, which easily could have lead to death. She jumps off a cliff, not a small one at that, into the ocean. It looks so bad that Alice believes she committed suicide.

So I do think Bella is reckless and desperate enough in the book to do all sorts of random stupid things. She becomes such an Edward junkie to her imagination, she has no limits as to where she'd stop and not do something because of danger. As long as Edward appears, she's got her satisfactory outcome. Plus in the book, Bella rebels a bit. She talks at great lengths about how tired she is of being responsible, safe, and always the steady one.

I actually like this scene, it probably should have been in the book LOL. It makes better sense visually, instead of Bella just randomly stopping in the middle of a desolate street with Jessica on the other side all "Bella! Bella!" And...it ties in much better to the bikes that she gets with Jake. In the book they just randomly appear. However, if when she gets on a bike for the first time, Edward appears to her, you can see why she'd be suddenly interested on getting on a bike again.

Good point. I guess more than anything I just want them to avoid wasting precious Edward/Bella or Edward/Jacob moments on tedious details. Not saying that IS what they're doing. I'm just saying I DON'T want them to do that. I want them to stick to the storyline from the book as much as possible. That's what we're paying to see afterall - a visual telling of the BOOK.

i dont know..i always wondered what she would have done if it had been the men from the ally...what would she have done? ran? kept going and talked to them? i would lke to think she wasnt suicidel..and she even says she is not (i just reread this part in my rereading of new moon) but if it was the psycho guys from the first book, what COULD she had done??? especially if they recognized her! she also said that nothing was frightening to her...she had already lived through the worst thing that could have happened to her.

Yea but if they WERE the same guys from Twilight, then she wouldn't have had much time to think about what her options were... i mean they revealed in Twilight that those guys were serial rapists and murderers so if she went on a bike with THEM she probably wouldn't have made it out alive. Exactly why I'm scared. I knew that's what was going on ever since the first pics a few days ago. But I dunno... I just don't think Bella is that stupid. Plus (and I'm just speculating) it sort of seems like they're unnecessarily taking screentime away from some much needed Bella/Jacob moments OR even some Bella/Edward moments once he returns from Italy and explains his feelings to her (that is a BIG part toward the end and it deserves a lot of respect).... Remember it is only a 2 hour movie. I just hope they don't dilly dalley too much with non-book-related stuff. Again I'm just speculating. Maybe the scene will play out totally different than I'm imagining.

i would have no idea on how to make a movie...but it might be harder to show just the level of "crazy" that bella went to if it went strictly by the book. you gotta remember its easy for us to know how she feels, we are reading her everythought. but portraying the pain that she is going through on film isnt just about facial expressions or reading lines right. IF they are taking this course and making her jump on some strange dudes harley it must be to better signify the desperation she feels.

I honestly think it is just because of the locations. I mean all pictures we have so far are from public places. First there were those pics from the beach with Tay and Kris, than those on the road again with both ot them. Also there were pics in the school yard with Rob and Kirs....and now these, in the city. All of them are easily approachable public spaces.
My guess is that we wont see the Volturi either while they're filming because they will probably film on closed location too.
That is my guess so far.

Honestly, I think maybe the reason we don't see pictures of the pack filming is because (SADLY) not as many people care about them (yet). Everyone is all hung up on the Cullens and they'd rather dedicate their set-stalking to scenes that involve vamps. I 100% agree with you. I am thankful for the official picture. I don't want anyone to think I am ungrateful. I'm really not. I am over the new moon for the official. It's my wallpaper, and the moment their poster (if it's released as a poster) is on the shelf it's mine.

really is it bugging you that much. I'm actually kind of glad that we don't have that many pic's of the pack because it means in Nov I get to enjoy the thrill more.

I mean...can you imagine that scene when Bella first meets them and the fight scene with Paul and Jake. I like the suspense of just seeing it then. It will ruin it if I see it now...yes I'd love to see more pictures of the nekkid pack but not set pictures...I want to watch the movie and be shrieking OMG!!!!! LMAO

I'm totally with you. I don't mind seeing promo pics, but I'd rather not see any filiming shots of the pack. I'd compare it to gorging on chocolate--eventually it looses the novelty and it doesn't taste as good. I want to be as surprised as possible when I see those half nekkid boys getting rough and tough. YUM.

where in the book does it say Edward wears a peacoat?? He wears a leather jacket when they are in the resturant in Port Charles. He loans it to Bella because she's cold. The Peacoat was someone elses's idea. I'm glad they all got a wardrobe upgrade!

I love his pea coat too kim, and the leather jacket in the book was cream and sounded a bit more up market not black and bikerish, i hope thats not edwards wardrobe, it really does not suit the character he has to portray, edward is more reserved, and obviously he hasn't been into hair and make up, plus he's holding a water bottle in the one picture, i'm sure bellas hallucinations won't entail him doing that LMAO.

That's right I forgot about that. In the book all of the Cullens dressed much better than they did in the actually movie. I had heard that they were going to have much better fashion in this one. In this picture he looks at little too "warm" though hahaha. Not very pale, you can tell he is cold.

That was my reaction exactly when I saw the pics. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ROB and him in that leather jacket, yummi!!! =) But that is NOT Edward's look!! I loved Edwards look in Twilight, with that grey jacket/coat och shirt, looking very stylish!! But these pics from New Moon seems like they're giving him a very different look, don't know how I feel about that. =(

Pauline, so glad you've started NMA. Here's my addict confession for the day: I took my lifesize Edward to work so all the girls could drool and snap photos. Big mistake... I was jealous & got in a tug-of-war match with a fellow employee over Edward. He is only cardboard and could have been damaged in the process. What was I thinking taking such risks?! The sweet side of me wanted to "share" my Edward happiness with others. Ok... maybe I wanted to brag just a bit about having my own Edward. :) Also annoying, some of the girls kissed him so now I need to figure out how to disinfect cardboard. Perhpas I should have instituted a look but no-touch rule?

I would bring that with me all of the time.,,especially so I could try and use it to drive in the carpool lane! Can you guys just imagine the LOOKS I would get????

This movie version of Bella going up to the bar makes a lot more sense than the book version. i think it actually shows the importance of Edward's voice, and an actual reason to get the dirkbikes later on. I'm soo stoked for this movie, I think theyre gonna do greattt :)

Ohhh you guys make me sad! Don't read the script!! Don't you want to be just a little excited and shocked when you see the movie. I try not and read to much into any of these pictures because I am always wrong, and that makes it fun for me. I love it when i am wring and suprised...but thats just me.

In terms of the script though, I actually really do want to read it (I don't mind movies being spoiled for me).... I am mostly just concerned about the reconciliation scene between Bella and Edward after Italy - you know,when he tells her he always loved her and tries to reassure her. THAT is the only scene I really want to read in the script, to see how it's supposed to play out vs. how it was in the book.

Bless Bella, she is a creative woman, she loves her man to be Bad to the bone, I wonder if she wouldn't mind reading some of those journals.
