I'm really happy with Chris being the director for New Moon. But I wished he would be the director for Eclipse too.

I'm glad to hear things are going good, I'm so excited for November! (But also not at the same time you know? It's going to be SUCH A SAD movie!) I can't wait to see some pictures of the Volturi! I heard how great the books were but didn't take the time to read it before the movie came out. I loved the movie so much I started reading Twilight the next day so I have to say it was because of the movie but now I am like everyone here in that I can't stand the thought of the rest of the books not being put to screen the way that they should. At the very least put the most compelling and important part of the books in there ie the story of Carlisle in Twilight...there shouldn't be any backtracking having to be done for the stories in the rest of the saga to make sense. As you can tell I am not a writer so I know this is confusing LMAO.

All we hear from EVERYONE is that "New Moon" is going to be soo much better, than "Twilight"! Don't get me wrong, I love "Twilight", but we all know it could have been improved in many ways.

Chris Weitz is doing a fantastic job, if you remember, they even called Melissa in for a rewrite. All I can say is that they better bring in Chris to do Breaking Dawn!!!

I have to agree. I throughly enjoyed Twilight the move, but it pales in comparison to the emotion of the book. I think this may have had more to do with Catherine's direction and not the script. I feel like she downplayed the extreme romance and just touched on the depth of Bella and Edwards' love atowards the end of the movie. Wonder if Catherine (hoping to direct the sequel) had a slow build hoping to expand on their powerful love story in New Moon. I think that Catherine did a disservice to the movie by playing it safe, but fortunately, Kristen and Rob's smoking chemistry and their acting choices made this movie so much better. With very little words, they could show us the depth of Edward and Bella's love, longing and struggle and it is the strenght of their acting that saved this movie.

I get a good feeling with Chis Weitz. The man seems incredibly capable, articulate and has a great sense of what this should be. He will definitely take this to the next level and I see this being a great movie. I can't wait!

The fashion in the movie was so off, in the books you get the idea that they are the best dressed around and even Bella poor girl has a little more style in the book...especially when Alice dresses them all.

i really hope that all the team can pull out the book into a great movie...because i really believe that twilight was not good enough...they were not capable (and when i said "they"...i mean mellissa and catherine) to bring to the screen the big romance betwen Edward and Bella...(important excluded information) if you had not read the book, you might not be able to understand the complex in their relationship...i have to said that i was a little bit dissppointed at some point...i was expecting so much more.
Make a great adaptation like the lord of the ring (Tolkien) or Dracula (Bram stoker) come on guys Dracula adaptation was better than the book!!!

wishy washy is right. I saw the movie in November first before reading the books fortunately so I ended up loving it but as soon as I read the book I was a bit disappointed. Im still mad at my self for not knowing about Twilight before. Just walked into the theater one day and said 'hey he looks kind of cute I think I'll see this movie" and thats how my secret love affair started.

It's a totally valid reason for going into a movie lol

I read the books first, before i realised there was a film due. Which did make me a bit disappointed :) she missed all the teasing and build up of the relationship.......that's what makes the book for me :)

I actually just saw Twilight (read the books a while ago) and I was actually just disappointed most with the fact that although the shots were very beautiful the dialogue was so... inane/blase' can't think of the word, it just really kind of stripped the characters of some of their personality in some ways.
I understand that the script is an adaptation of the book and the need to speed things along, but the words that come out of someone's mouth indicate a lot about who they are and what really is really going through their mind and the dialogue was... sorry at a loss for words. Kind of like a 3rd grade rough draft for an English project. It just seemed to be one-line basic sentences stating not-so-important information.

Where I'm really nervous is the Eclipse script so I'll be on the edge of my seat until I hear that it's amazing and that they kept the integrity of the book in tact (major plot points are there, all the key emotions are portrayed, the actors and director know how to make Edward, Bella, and Jacob the way they should be, etc). They have to have the first airplane ride to because that is when Alice tells Bella she will change her herself and that is what Aro sees. The one coming home is the best I agree when she can't take her eyes off him and he is concerned about her caffeine input which cracks me up considering the 24 hours of danger before that she was in.

VEry interested in the vamp battle too, and how the vampires train the wolves. It will give Jasper and Emmet a bit more time to show their stuff and show the more powerful side of the vampires.

It's interesting how many people relate on such a deep level to this book. I don't know if it's because as a teenager every emotion was so raw/intense at times that it's still stuck there and we can jump right back into the moment when we think about it.
My librarian said she thought Twilight was too slow because it was just Bella repetetively obsessing over Edward for pages. And I was thinking "Yah, that's exactly what girls do, generally when they like someone. I think that's what I spent the majority of 7th grade through H.S. doing- Repetetively obsessing over guys I liked every time my brain had a free moment)
Or maybe our soul just likes a certain age and kind of hovers there (sometimes I worry that I'm stuck either in 8th grade or 1st year college) Guess in heaven I'll find out how old I "really am" LOL

I totally understand about the "stuck there" stuff and the "our souls just like a certain age" stuff. I am a high school teacher, and I swear I relate to teenagers better than to adults usually. I still have the adult mind and experience, but I totally understand where they are coming from. I remember that time so well, and can really emphathize with them and their feelings.

Bella and Edward and Jacob all seem so real to me. It's hard to believe that they are not. Their feelings are so right on to how teens react and feel. Stephenie Meyer is just awesome!



And that idea about love at that age. Just about everybody has one certain person that they remember from that time who is, and always will be special to them. It doesn't mean you want them now, it's just the memories you made with them are so amazing.

Obsessing over New Moon is a cool thing! It keeps us "young at heart", no matter what our age!

My girlfriend has 5 boys ages 13 to 18 months and my other friend has 3 boys in college/highschool and I love they way those boys love their mom (specially the older ones. They bring her chocolate without being asked. It makes me tear up)

I think it's great to be have a "teen" spirit as long as you can grow up emotionally at some point. There's nothing more unfunny than an adult who still acts like a child when it comes to being self-absorbed and undisciplined in things they should have learned at their age.

Sorry that I didn't respond sooner. Sometimes I get really, really busy during the week and then have to take a whole day to just crash. Last week I had to organize and administer an important "standardized test" (hateful things!)

Ooh, standardized tests. Don't you love how 10 years ago they proved that that's not the best measure of a student's ability, and here, 10 years later we're still torturing student to make money. Try living in NYC. They cancel all classes for 3 weeks before and just teach the topic. It's pathetic. How much of one subject can you cram into a kid's brain. Way to set up an artificial learning system that doesn't mirror real life.

Ok... sorry...this is way off topic... and I could go on forever.

So, to relate it. Didn't you love the Science teacher in Twilight. "Golden ONion??" NOw there's a guy who has a passion for his topic.

Oh I think they just keep standardized tests in education, because it is a way for teachers and students to partially pay for part of their sins before going to purgartory! And here in Texas, I think we were the "pioneers" of standardized tests, because our "wonderful" governor George W. Bush came up with "No Child Left Behind" when he became president because we already were so big into standardized testing in Texas.



Luckily, they have realized in the Texas Congress that for a student not to be able to EVER graduate from High School due to one stupid test is wrong, wrong,wrong (finally they have realized that after 20 years of it!) and are now trying to work out a plan for students to take an End of Course Exam in each subject they take all 4 years, and then as long as their finally average on their End of Course Exams is a 70, then they can still graduate, which means that you could make a 65 in Algebra, but a 75 in English I and still be eligible to graduate.



This plan is not going to be put in place for another 2 years, of course, but it will be soo much better for kids when it is!



Now back to Twilight... yes, Mr. Molina is a pretty cool teacher, he really loves his subject. How can a teacher expect their students to get interested in what they are learning, if the teacher isn't interested and enthusiastic?

But then again, it's a fine line teachers walk, because we can't believe that our subject is the most or only important one either (which some teachers and professors do!)



So, you are a NYC girl... How cool is that! I live in Big D (Dallas) myself and am lovin' it right now, because in July I am going with my 14 year old to Twicon!! I am so psyched about it!! I know what you mean, I think some ppl are so stuck on making sure they're happy all the time, that it makes them self-absorbed and they end up being really selfish adults trying to grasp whatever so they don't have a bad moment.

Part of the reason I liked Bella and Jake (and Edward, even) is because they were willing to sacrifice to make other ppl happy when it wouldn't really benefit themselves, necessarily.

I've not been that excited for NM since the beginning of the shooting. Except for the birthday party news that I found as interesting as these ones. I can't wait to see the Volturi! I thought they were the best addition of group besides the original characters from twilight. They are great vilains that bring lots of tension and danger and have lots of interesting history.
But what about Ashley? If it's Volturi time, shouldn't Alice be there too? I didn't read anything about Ashley shooting with them recently or did I miss something? It'ss very early in the morning here, so maybe my brain is still asleep lol

She is going to be filming w/ the Volturi. Maybe she's there right now? If not, then in Italy. Remember in the commentary on the dvd, Kris said that for the "meet the family" scene she wasn't even there for most of it. They can make it look like all the people who are in the scene were present the whole time, even when half of them are. get what I'm saying? So you never know.

Yes you're right. I've not heard about Ashley being in Vancouver right now (?) but yes there's still time and there's always Italy. Or like you said like what happened with Kristen and the scene where she meets the Cullens...
Thanks for telling me about this, I didn't know that she wasn't even there for part of it! I don't have my Twilight dvd yet, it'll only be released in July here in France :( That sucks!!! But I'll have patience and at least they're gonna make up for this when we are the first to get to see NM in the theaters.

Ashley's already in Vancouver and she's filming with them. Many twilighters saw her goes in and out the hotel where the other cast members are staying.
