In coordination with the release of New Moon this fall, there will be a brand new trove of Twilight bookstuff to get your hands on–including a set of four handsome Twilight journals based on the covers of the four books, as well as a new special edition of Breaking Dawn. EW says–

The Breaking Dawn Special Edition, on stands Aug. 4, will include a DVD of the Breaking Dawn concert series and interviews with Meyer. Those who pick up the hardcover book can also expect a poster and reproduction of handwritten lyrics for “My Never,” by Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld. The Twilight Journals (pictured), out Oct. 13, are packaged in a tin and include “decorative quotes” from each book. For those hoping to buy books tied into New Moon, Little, Brown will release New Moon: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion on Oct. 6 and New Moon trade and mass-market paperback tie-ins in September and November, respectively. They will also publish a New Moon Collector’s Edition on Oct. 6.

    Not of that really appeals to me. The journals are pretty looking, but I keep my thoughts in another book and have no need for FOUR MORE books.

    And what exactly makes the "special editions" so special? I hate to say it, but I think all these gimmicks are geared more toward the younger audience than the older. I can't imagine spending extra money for a copy of a book I already own so that I can get things like posters or concert DVDs I'll watch twice. Now... if it had additional chapters to add to the story, I MIGHT consider it.

    It does seem like another money ploy! If she wants more things on the shelf, Stephenie Meyer should write Jacob and Nessie's story! That's what she should be doing with her time now!!! We need more Stephenie!!

    I am wondering if she is going to continue their story...It would be awesome if she did. And, of course, I am sure they would make a butt-load of mulah. lol. I agree with you though, she needs to get on that, or finish Midnight Sun...

    i kinda feel you on this one..she needs to write new stuff.. i mean Midnight sun anyone?..lol...i think steph should write another book about the saga..because i mean the volturi are jealous and wants alice, bella and edward right, and also tanya sis irina is killed in BD, and the jacob and nessie story, and also caius being so abnoxious and bad and still might want to kill the wolves..these are all plots that calls for a new material in BD which can lead to more books..honestly; at the end of BD; i dont think the volturi were happy with the outcome..i also like that the fighting was mental and that noone on the cullens side got kill..but i mean dont end it..lol...but steph said shes ending the saga from bella's point of view; so there might be more books...hope so..

    She should write what she wants.

    Truthfully, creative writing is a hard job. A good friend of mine is a writer, and all that talk of INSPIRATION isn't nonsense. His writing is always better when he truly feels motivated and inspired to write.

    One day she'll have another dream, or just really miss Nessie and Jacob and the Cullens... when that happens, she'll write again. Just give her time. Let her live her life and enjoy her family.

    As for it being a money ploy... OBVIOUSLY.

    hmmm. looks like another money ploy to me. by now, stephenie meyer probably has nothing to do with the empire this is becoming. i can see how a lot of girls would buy this just because it has the original covers in a really cool way, but something about a twilight cover on a journal just screams "i'm writing about my troubles with a boy..."
  • Because it's my favorite book I will be getting that New Moon collector's addition. Probably the Breaking Dawn one as well, as it is my second favorite in the series. (Book 2 peeps woot woot!!)

    LOL when u said BD was ur fav I was like really? then I read the Book 2 part and I was oh yeah!! Book 2 in BD would prolly be my fav if it was an entire book. but Eclipse is my #1 then NM and Book 2 of BD. I really wish SM would do a book based on the wolves I kno us wolf girls would read it.

    keep dreaming she doesn't even want to finish midnight sun and i would love to see edward perspective from all the books, then it would be nice to see jacob's. Poor sm she won't be able to finish w the twilight universe.

    I was in the book store last night when some poor child walked up to the info desk asking them about Midnight Sun, she said her friend told her it was another book by Stephenie Meyer. I didn't have the heart to tell her she was MISINFORMED... and clearly she does not read the BLOGS... ;) The info desk lady explained it nicely to her though.... I felt bad for her.

    Awww that so sad...i had to explain to this girl at my school about it...she was so upset but i told her that she could find the partial draft but I think it made things worse it was really good and knowing that it prolly wont get finished is really upsetting.

    yea..i want to see only midnight sun man..i am going nuts..i really like edward's mind ..i like bella and jacob; but edward is just so freaking beautiful..i do have a lot of twilight books too..i am not that obsessed..lol..but if the stuff coming up is good and has some new info, then i might buy em.....

    I hadn't planned on getting the Twilight one, but my mom bought it for me. I really liked it. I enjoyed reading some the stuff in there about the filming & costumes & sets. But my fav part by far is just the pictures, some of them are really cool & fun & differen than what you get elsewhere. So I think it was worth it & I will probably get the NM one too.

    Also.....the only journal i'll be keeping is just how crazy it is driving me on daily basis.....to only be able to read midnight sun up to the night before the meadow scene.......

    o yea..i feel you on that...i was crying reading midnight sun..at first i didnt want to be disrespectful to steph; but the suspense was killing me; so i read it..lol...gosh its freaking beautiful...i like edward being jjealous and alll..and falling in love and not knowing it..gosh i think..lawd..i am going crazy....i like when he goes in her room and says looking at bella sleeping took his breath away...how romantic...

    I don't know I think I like the journal Edward (Rob) had in the movie, you know the one shown on the table when Edward and Bella first meet. I think these are nice, but that one was so much cooler. I love writing in my journals!

    I know I'll most likely get the NM movie companion book. I have the Twilight one & really like it. But I don't know about the journals, I'll probably want to look at them first. I'm actually tempted to get the BD special edition because I lent mine to a friend and it somehow when I got it back the front cover is starting to come off (that's what I get for being nice & lending them out). And when is the official guide going to come out? We've been waiting for a long time!

    Looks good! And of course it's marketing, what else do you expect? That's how everything is. If the original books had not been "marketed", no one would have read them, no one would be here now, and no one would love/know or care who Bella and Edward were. Every franchise gets merchandise after it, HP is the king of them all in that department. I'm glad they make all the gadgets and stuff, it's up to me what I decide to buy and what I pass on. If you didn't have marketing, you wouldn't have the movie or the DVD.

    As for the official guide, I've heard on various other reports that either the guide is being held back as there is more information being added, or, that Little Brown and Company has it, but is holding it back to release it at the most benefiting time to them...more than likely around the time a movie is released.

    Obsession to the highest level, yeah, I am getting these. I do not write in journals or diaries or whatever, but these will so get me to write. If I do get them, I probably will not write in them though because it would ruin them. The box is absolutely amazing. It looks like the bookshelf I am getting at Ikea for my Twilight room.
